And when I say that, I mean it with sincerity. The guy shows that he would've gotten beat by that journeyman if it had been a 15 round fight. A lot of people on here already favor Rafael Marquez over him when they fight all because of that fight with Mtwaga. Rafael would've destroyed that same guy in Gamboa fashion. Now to be fair, I would probably still slightly favor Lopez over Marquez. But the fact that Lopez is either the underdog against him or slightly favored over Marquez after Rafa's battles with Vasquez and inactivity says a lot. And the last four or five times he has spoken and given press releases, he never even utters Gamboa or Caballero's names.
Nah, it's probably your usual racism against Puerto Ricans speaking, albeit subconsciously. Let it go man, just let it go.
Maidana took on Ortiz when people still didn't know that he's heartless and were hyping him to hell. I doubt that he would fear Bradley, even if Tim is vastly superior.
Khan? LOL, he is an KO waiting to happen. Maidana punches a lot, lot, harder than Kotelnik or Paulie.
and it was awarded to this guy:

lol
Hell yeah! What could possibly be better than stripping a hall of famer to get a "В'ячеслав Сенченко" (whatever the hell that is) in exchange?
I have no idea, seeing as I wasnt able to catch the fight tonight...but Ive been reading about it.
ESPN had Foreman winning the 2nd, 4th, and 6th rounds, which would have made the fight even before the injury happened in the 7th(and it sounds bad enough that Foreman had no chance in winning after such an injury).
but, of course, sometimes its not good to judge a fight based on reading one description.
Do yall think Foreman is entitled to a rematch? and is it possible he came into this fight on a prior injury to begin with, which is why his knee or ankle or whatever gave out?
They gave Yuri the second? Blind ****s down there. Anyways, after standing up and refusing to take-5 he does, but its up to Arum and we all know him.
NO he didn't fight his fight, irregardless of the injury.
He fough his fight, it just wasn't enough to make Cotto back down. But this is his style and he employed it to his fullest until the injury.
cant wait till they fight. surprised they fighting so soon after the diaz fight tho
Well, if JMM fough Lopez I wouldn't be surprised, seeing that JMM is a light welterweigh and a legend.
he wasnt hurt, he was just getting out of the way before shrek caught him
Come on now, Arreola actually makes Shrek look handsome. I don't think that he was seriously hurt, but some of thos punches clocked him fairly well.
Depends how well Manny can get those basics up again. Even if Margarito was wearing something in his wraps, Cotto was boxing the wrong fight, he didn't even clinch during those finals rounds after dominating the first half of the fight.
Wait until they get the "silver belt" thing rolling. They will become the most colorful ABC of them all, even more than the WBA and their lust for "super", "regular" and "interim" combos in every division.
Have you ever check the lineage of the WBC titles? What was Valero's first title? Every sanctioning body ranks what they can see first hand higher. The only exeption is probably the Ring and they have done their share of random stuff as well.
Based on their latest performances, its pretty safe to say that Khan's speed is too much for Ortiz, who was getting hit by a rather crude Maidana. There are better fights for him at the LWW division, such as Bradley or he could try to prove that he has more chin than advertised by fighting Valero.
Hi All,
Which guys on this list do you think will still be undefeated heading into 2011?
Juan Manuel Lopez
Edwin Valero
Tim Bradley Jr.
Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Ivan Calderon
Chris John
Chad Dawson
Arthur Abraham
Carl Froch
Lucien Bute
Yuriorkis Gamboa
Tavoris Cloud
Andre Ward
Yuri Foreman
Andre Berto
If I've missed any top undefeated fighters that you think will have perfect records at the end of 2010, feel free to add.
Thanks,
Trevor.
I highlighted the ones that seem foolproof. Both Lopez and Gamboa will have some good matches, but as long as they don't face each other they will remain undefeated. Bradley and Calderon are the best in their division and should continue being so unless some upset happens, Calderon needs to watch the cuts. John is an aging champion, he is steadily moving away from his prime and he might be tested eventually. Valero is moving up, we know that he is strong, but we don't know what he will carry to the LWW division. Mayweather may fight Pacquiao... I truly believe that if Berto takes the Quintana fight, he will be outboxed, its not easy hugging your way trough a match with someone that technical.
well yeah if he fights the way he fought tonight...yeah JuanMa can get him...but he wouldn't fight like that against JuanMa obviously
Gamboa has been saying that he will improve his defense for two years now. He won't, that is his style.
Why is everyone jumping the gun to Lopez-Gamboa? Lopez-Marquez is still out there. For all we know Lopez could either steamroll Marquez or look like crap and get stopped.
He was clearly affected, otherwise his "celebratory scream" wouldn't sound like a ***** getting ****ed. Seriously, that is the gayest celebration ever.
i think gamboa is too green right now for juanma i got juanma if they fight
Green? The man has twice as many amateur fights as Lopez and is one year older. That is just his style.
Gamboa is way too arrogant for someone that has yet to achieve something as a professional, I think that a loss would humble him and in the long run would benefit his career. Froch is bound to lose eventually, he has been outboxed more than once.
1. Manny Pacquiao
2. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
3. Shane Mosley
4. Paul Williams
5. Chad Dawson
6. Andre Dirrell
7. Andre Ward
8. Timothy Bradley
9. Hozumi Hasegawa
10. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam
It should include these 10 fighters in whatever order you see fit.
Dirrell and Ward over three proven fighters and multi-division champions. Really?
This fight isn't getting enough respect. Great little fight.
Who do you think will win and how will the fight go down?
Ortiz should win, he has several advantages, but it may not turn out as easy as he expects.
