Please don't flood this thread with comments like if Norton and McGuiggan are in than any should be in etc.
Lets just base this on Too Sharps Career and resume.
I believe Johnson will be eligible next year.
Guess there are two identical threads?
I posted this in the other thread Yesterday, 01:14 PM
Not sure who is next, but I would like to see him in with Aaron Pryor Jr next. If he wins then maybe the long awaited Abraham fight that never happened at middleweight.

Yeah cant say they are better but just as good or close would be
Sergio Martinez- Last 5 where Dzinziruk, PW twice, Pavlik and Cintron
Juan Manuel Marquez -Last 5 where Katsidis , Diaz twice, Mayweather and Casamyor. If you go further add Pacquaio, Juarez and Barrera. thats an amazing last 8 fights.
Shane Mosley- Last 6 where Pacman, Mora, Mayweather, margacheato, Mayorga, Cotto if you go back 9 you can add Colazzo, Vargas twice.
To me it has to be Mosley. Then Froch, Martinez or JMM.
I mean Mosley has fought the two best P4P fighters in the world in the last year or so. The Mora fight wasnt the toughest, but Mosley sure made it look that way. Either way Mora is never an easy fight. Margarito was highly regarded when Mosley fought him, as a matter of fact most didn't give Shane a chance.
Cotto has only lost to Pacquiao and the plaster and is another future HOF'r.
the whole reason sergio can't make $$$ n the 1st place s cuz he fights bums n goat farmers.
i guarantee u f sergio fought B-HOP or Andre Ward the sh1t wud sell. "maravagina" has nobody but 2 blame but his cherrypicking self 4 his lack of marketability.
it's the 21st century i got no problem w/ sergiosexuals n sergiosexuality-- but i mean 4 goodness sakes what's next-- abner mares got some buzz sergio gonna call him out next?
Yeah he should jump up a couple weight classes.
I love Ward since he is a local guy but he doesnt exactly sell out, even in his hometown. BHop is same way. So your argument is terrible.
He would make probably 5 times fighting Pacquiao or Mayweather than he would moving up to fight the mega fights you mentioned.
Guess you believe anything you read or hear.
Chavez junior will NOT fight Cotto, Martinez , Rubio or any of the champs in his division within the next 2 years. Sulimain and Arum will never allow it.
In the mean time they will how ever release statements to the press ever week claiming "Chavez junior wants Pacquiao next" and " Arum says Chavez vs Martinez highly possible" so that people like you will believe it and keep their names out there.
Look for Juniors first defense to be against Manfredo, Spada, Macklin or Barker on latin Fury PPV in the fall.
Hhahaha Manfredo and Ishida were talked about being possible opponents for Martinez, Junior never talked about those guys so you should wait for a Martinez-Ishida or Manfredo fight
If he doesn't fight Cotto then it will be versus Marco Antonio Rubio his mandatory that destroyed Lemieux.
But trust me he will fight Cotto, he doesn't have anything to fear, Cotto is a small JMW and past his prime and Arum knows that ;)
And that fight will give Julio lots of experience and he will improved much more with Ariza and Roach for the Cotto fight.
Well even though you hate Martinez and think he should move to CW he is entitled to an optional/easy defense. He's been facing tough opposition and there arent any easy to make big fights/paydays out there for him for summer. When Chavez fights the fighters the caliber of Pavlik, PW (twice) Cintron and Dzinziruk ina 2 year span then you have a point.
Its okay to hate a fighter but at least give them credit.
Hell, your boy Chavez here fights that type of fight on every latin fury PPV.
Guess you missed it but WBC said if Chavez wins its Rubio vs Martinez. If Zbik wins its Zbik vs Martinez. No matter what, Rubio or Martinez are not allowed in same ring with junior.
You are right that "The son of a legend " loves fighting smaller Jr MW's at 160. And if they ever try to make the Cotto fight it will be at 160.
Cant call a boxer that goes 30-0 a bum, but he is average at best. Little power as well. Zbik becoming champ was part of the master plan to hand Chavez a WBC belt.
Eddie Chambers has to fight Tony Thompson next in an eliminator. That may be a good (or bad) sign as to who may be one of the top American HW's.
One to keep an eye on though is Amir Mansour. Some friends on another site where discussing him the other day. Powerful lefty. Has some sick Ko's on you tube. If he stays outa trouble and his chin holds up he may make some noise soon.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Amir+Mansour&aq=f
the guy is like 38 years old
9 years away from the game
Yeah , I know. Alot of HW's are old and power isnt the first thing to go.
He could be nothing but at the same time if these highlight reel KO's get him on ESPN or something he may draw some interest.
With Pacquiao, Marquez and Khan out of the picture its a pretty good option for Guerrero.
I kinda rather him stay at 135 unless he was getting a shot at one of the top two at 140 though. I think Guerrero has the speed and skills to beat Maidana but one bomb from him can change all of that.
You're reaching with those.
Well I'm not saying those are great names but where solid wins in Cotto's career. Bailey and Torres where huge punchers and very dangerous at the time he fought them.
Cotto will never in a million years sniff the HOF.
I think Cotto is borderline in my opinion. But there is no doubt when time comes he gets in, probably first ballot.
Old, past it, borderline shot and hasn't lost a round in ages...
Yeah exactly. I cant stand Vitlai but he is damn good. And would be a handful in any era.
I think every Hall of Famer needs a signature. An answer to why. Why Cotto? He has no signature and the only one available is beating Martinez or Mayweather. I doubt he does.
There's a reason why people ask about Gatti and that's because he has a signature (and then some). You can put him in and then say why. Cotto has more belts, more talent, and better wins. Nothing "special" though. All those come from behind wins and great great fights from Gatti are "special" - with a belt or two as well.
Calzaghe is pretty much sure fire because no matter the reality or fraudulence of it he has great stats. It's mostly "accepted" now to call him a legend.
Glen Johnson, thought of him. Winning the Super Six would be undeniable.
David Haye is in if he beats Wlad. People forget, he was knocking out world class fighters from the start of his career just about. But what if he only almost wins?
I can see some saying Cotto maybe shouldn't get in. I vote yes but was on fence at first.
His only losses are to an all time great and Hall of famer Pacquiao and a cheating scumbag that probably was using loaded gloves. So only 1 legit loss and no shame in it.
Miguel Angel Cotto
*35-2 28 Ko's
*15-2 in world title fights
*World titles held:
WBA Jr middleweight
WBO welterweight
WBA welterweight
WBO Jr welterweight
NOTABLE WINS:
Lovemore N'dou
Randall Bailey
Ricardo Torres
Paul Malignaggi
Carlos Quintana
Zab Judah
Shane Mosley
Yuri Foreman
Joshua Clottey
NOTABLE LOSSES:
Antonio Margarito
Manny Pacquiao
I believe so. 49-0 with 21 SMW title defenses in a row gets him in. I'm not a big fan of his, but his wins over Lacy, Kessler, Jones and Hopkins help him big time.
I despise Calzaghe but he gets in for sure. Probably first ballot.
The Lacy win does nothing now, it looked great then but now is ****. Kessler is kind of the same way. Looked great then. Jones was shot.
The Hopkins win is probably his most impressive that we will look back on year down the road.
Chavez Jr., and also fights with smaller man in Pacquiao and Mayweather
But when they asked him about Bute or another SMW his answer is that he will be to small to fight them and proceeds to call Pacquiao a coward for not fighting him
Well for one the Chavez Jr. fight will never happen, period. Sulimian and the WBC will make sure of that. The Pacquiao or Mayweather fights wont happen either. Those are just the 2 biggest paydays available to him and any fighter near 150 lbs. So of course he is going to call them out. Pretty sure your hero Golovkin would take a Pacquiao or Mayweather payday as well.
Martinez is a small MW so no reason to move up anytime soon.
I don't know how fight PW twice, Dzinziruk, Cintron & Kelly Pavlik is cherry picking but guess your trying to be "outrageous" and "over the top". No way those names can be compared to the murderers row that Golovkin has faced.
I wish I could go. The person I would love to meet is Carmen Basilio. I believe he is always there.
He is, They built the place because of him. Last year he health limited him to only a few events. I really hope he is doing better this year.
imwill also be there any idea where i can stay while im there al area hotel are booked
You sure everything in Syracuse is booked? Anything on carrier circle is usually cheap and like maybe 15 minute drive each day.
You could also look into cottages on the beach which may be about 10 minutes away.
Turning stone casino will have rooms but is pretty pricey.
