ESPN finally moved Canelo to the top spot in the pound-4-pound list. I'm not surprised though that Atlas and Ward kept Crawford at #1. As I believe Max Kellerman did too, though he's not on this list below. Pilatti, whoever that is, moved Canelo up on his list but still has him at #4. What? Lately, I rarely rewatch a fight twice, there hasn't been a fight that intrigues me that much to want to watch it more than once. This Joshua/Ruiz fight, I've watched the fight at least 3 times but I've seen the highlights at least 5 times since Saturday.

From Rick Glaser: Rumors abound that PBC being shopped around for a potential sale, and it's now supposedly down to one potential purchaser. The likely buyer is Ari Emanuel, the Hollywood Mogul that co-owns the WME agency, and Zuffa, better known publicly as UFC. The sale is not a cash out by Al Haymon, it's a forced sale by Waddle-Reed, the company that put up the 550 million for PBC. Being told by several reliable sources that PBC, even since they stopped paying for time buys, has still never turned a profit. Waddle-Reed I'm told is wore out from Al Haymon's failed projections of forthcoming profitability, and Waddle-Reed is forcing the transaction. To quote the attorney source "A lot of smoke and mirrors with PBC, but nothing fruitful financially" If Ari Emanuel is the buyer, look for Dana White to be the "Frontman" for the boxing venture too, as White is for the UFC. Other boxing business powerhouses like Bob Arum, Eddie Hearn, and also Oscar De La Hoya are not interested and or prohibited from purchasing PBC as all PBC fights are on Fox Platforms, and Showtime, because of Arum, Hearn, and Oscar's respective exclusivity, Arum with Disney/ESPN, and Hearn in America with DAZN, and Oscar with DAZN. There are several issues that need to be cleared up, between Haymon and Waddle-Reed, and Waddle-Reed without Haymon may possibly still retain some ownership with Emamuel's group. We'll see how this unfolds over the next several months, and as more information becomes available, you'll have it here.

Not a boxing post per say, but a bummer. Not sure if anyone had been reading about the missing plane flying from Las Vegas to Monterrey, Mexico. Wreckage was found in the state of Coahuila. A photograph published on local television network Milenio showed what it said were the burnt remnants of the plane, broken into pieces, spread over charred earth. The Coahuila state government said in a statement the flight plan listed 13 people on board, though some media reported that there were 14 on the plane. It said no survivors were found. A separate list published in several Mexican media listed an additional passenger not on the Coahuila list. Mexican media reported that the passengers had been to a boxing match between Mexican boxer Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and U.S. fighter Daniel Jacobs in Las Vegas on Saturday. The nationalities of the victims were not immediately clear. The surnames of the three crew and 10 passengers published by the Coahuila government were all Hispanic. In a statement, Canada's Bombardier Inc identified the jet as a Challenger 601 and said the plane had gone missing about 150 nautical miles from the northern Mexican city of Monclova. Expressing its condolences to the victims, the company said it had been in touch with Canada's transportation safety board and would work with the investigating authorities. Mexican broadcaster Televisa reported the twin-engine jet lost contact on Sunday with air traffic controllers sometime after 5:20 p.m. local time (2220 GMT) as the pilot descended to avoid a storm.

Per Rick Glaser "In their maiden voyage of ESPN PPV Boxing this decade, Crawford-Khan PPV did 179,000 buys. Not bad, considering it really was a borderline PPV fight, and with no one of Mexican ethnicity in the main event, or in the other three PPV fights, the traditional Mexican and Mexican-American PPV purchaser was absent. Also, I don't think the timing of the ESPN marketing was good, yes, a last week push they did, but heavy marketing should have started 30 days before, not just the last 7 days. ESPN will learn, improve, and going forward have even better results. Looking forward, I see Terence Crawford taking on Kell Brook next, and if a deal can't be made with Eddie Hearn for Brook, then I see Luis Collazo getting his Crawford Lottery ticket handed to him."

"Here's one, the brother of Deontay Wilder, Cruiserweight Marsellos Wilder has failed his drug test from his March 16 fight on the undercard of Spence-Garcia. The fight is now officially a no contest, after Wilder scored a round 1 knockout. No word yet on the drug, be it PED's or recreational drugs. Also, don't know yet how long his suspension will be.
