I kinda doubt a PR team would tell you to lie about the facts of your childs death when there are people around who can call you out on your lies.
I suspect if this story is legit Caleb came up with it all on his own.
And its always possible this lady is psycho & making up some or all of the story to. Thats the thing with he said, she said sh^t. Who f#cking knows who's being legit or if the person who is being legit is being 100% legit & not embellishing some things.
I'm not saying he was provided with specifics, but there's no doubt there was intent to make a story out of it. this would be beneficial to his career, and maybe he got carried away with it. who knows.
The timing of the article is the worst part from her side of it. That said just cuz she got wronged, assuming the story is true, that don't make her a saint or not want Plant to feel some pain or she's not sorta hoping for him to take some L's in the ring or with his popularity or potential popularity.
Regardless of the accuracy of what is covered here, there is probably a lot more to this story which will likely never be known to all of us and which frankly isn't ours to pass collective judgment on. Anyone who has known grief knows the wild card that it is. This is basically one big bag of dirty laundry (revolving around the death of a child, for god' sake) being tossed out for public consumption at a very convenient (or inconvenient) time. If this thread is any indication, it seems be serving its intended purpose for existing.

if that was the intent, wouldn't the best time to do this be before his title shot? I get that it's questionable, but who has more of a motive to lie about the situation? not saying that plant had malicious intent in doing so, if true. he was more likely steered down that path by PR people looking to make a story from it.
Wow, Carmen is a very strong woman. Good she got this side of the story out. Disgusting Plant would use his daughter's story as a way to catapult his career but i'm not surprised. Why not just tell the truth? I liked him as a fighter but I can't root for a guy like that. I have daughters and would do absolutely anything including give my life for them. For him to have to be talked and begged into staying with his dying daughter is pathetic
If he didn't want to mention his ex then that's cool but credit should be given to this woman. God bless her
Devil's advocate: Maybe it's all true and worse and Plant is the worst kind of cold opportunist sociopath. It doesn't change the fact that the very existence of this piece and its timing can and should be questioned, and that its main thrust essentially boils down to Plant being a monster because he didn't specifically mention the ex and the shared nature of the grief and emotional struggle in his media push, despite the fact that all of that is implicit (obviously there is a mother in the picture and her reaction to the events can be reasonably surmised by anyone with half a brain), and that there's an argument to be made it would be flat out awkward and inappropriate to touch on the ex's place in the matter publicly anyway.
Yeah...
Let's start interviewing athlete's ex's right before an important contest and see how that turns out. I'm sure we'll get the facts just as they happened, especially if there is some real life tragedy involved.
Right....
Some rhetorical questions:
Is the timing of this biased, sensationalist hit piece interesting to say the least?
Is the veracity of its claims any more known to us than anything that comes from Plant's mouth?
Is it known with absolute certainty Plant was being deliberately dismissive when he made the fatal error of glancing at his phone while James Toney whispered a dry rub recipe in his ear?
Has the furor over that incident been racially charged to say the least?
Are a bunch of excitable dorks now using the unproven "revelations" in this piece to retroactively justify their existing dislike for Plant over the Toney incident and/or even more frivolous BS reasons, such as "his face" (lol) or, say, being guilty of boxing while white?
Mike Lee looks like an actor from mid-90s Gillette or Dr. Scholl's ad and like he sleeps with a photo of his mom under his pillow, so in the interest of balancing the scales I think I'll keep rooting for Plant in this fight for those equally valid reasons.
Caleb looks like a fkn prick now. Lost some respect for the guy.
"I’ve read all this for years and I didn’t say anything,” said Briscoe-Lee. “But I just don’t understand how he can just take things that aren’t facts and put out there just to make himself look better. It’s not right, and at the end of the day, I know that’s something he’s going to have to answer to when his time comes. He’s gonna have to look at Alia and tell her why he did those things.”
Dam...
Pretty terrible of him to not include the mother in the story and lie about what happened at that time but he did lose a child which I couldn't imagine dealing with myself.
Doesn't change my view of him either way, I'm not for or against him, I just hope someday he can give the mother the respect she deserves for what she dealt with during that time.
Yeah...

I'm sure we'll get the facts just as they happened, especially if there is some real life tragedy involved.Since she has already been interviewed and her story came out - Now it is up to how the facts play out in future interviews and stories with them which are going to turn this whole thing into a bigger situation. People are going to closely watch how much he omits her from the narrative and question his overall sincerity unless he responds to her claims with a believable rebuttal from his side. I dont think we have heard the last of this.
Yeah...

Boxingscene should run a story and pay both Caleb and his ex to do an interview together to clear things. But neither would do it cause she would have a disadvantage of not being a celebrity and people might believe Caleb even if he is wrong which is most likely the case. And he would not want to do the interview due to bad publicity. But then again, Caleb would probably see his monetary stock rise because people would tune in hoping to see him lose such as is the case with villain boxers.
That article wreaks of sensationalism with some of the over-the-top words it uses. But at the core may be a truth that indicates Caleb made some really bad choices when he was younger and is living with those, grieving with those........but if he has fictionalized his accounts of what happened in any way, in the current time, a time when he is now a mature adult, and has lied and misrepresented the events, that would be shtty as hell. A key point is if someone can prove or disprove that his daughter died in his arms or his wife's. But if his story comes back up this weekend and he doesn't mention the mother of his child, that is going to be some serious red flags. He cant just write her out of the story!
I never liked Plant for some reason but i couldnt grasp onto why. But I felt this arrogance from the guy. Like when James Toney tried to teach him some moves, he was more focused on his ear piece and cell phone like a spoiled little btch.
Fuk Caleb Plant.. I will be rooting hard for Lee.
I was thinking the same thing when I saw that Toney/Plant story/interview! But i was still rooting for the kid because of his childhood AND more especially cause of his daughter's passing. But to hear the actual truth definitely turns me off from him. Not sure why he'd go about claiming he did this, that and how baby died in his arms when knowing damn well it wasnt true. But mofos sell they soul to be famous and this guy definitely did...
