AJ needs Wilder a fraction of what Wilder needs AJ. Would fighting Wilder really pay AJ that much more than Parker or Whyte? Whereas Wilder will earn 10 times his best cheque fighting AJ. I still want to see the fight happen, but think it'll be summer 2019
Sure, Groves is a good fighter but he has been mullered a couple of times previously, had a razor thin W over Degale and has always been just a little bit chinny. Smith could be a force at SMW, though. Dude is absolutely huge at the weight, has good ring smarts and can clobber. Pretty formidable mix.
Considering Groves is a pretty big SMW himself, but he looked tiny compared to Smith
There goes Bivol's pay day... 175lbs is DEAD.
(Stevenson is M.I.A .) & Nobody is gonna fight Artur Beterbiev.
Hopefully there will be a 175lbs WBSS announcement. Lots of good fighters in the division who aren't big names.
I’d rather Pacquiao stay with ESPN+. This DAZN app feels so low rent to me. HBO, Showtime & ESPN have established name brands for decades so I don’t know why a 40 year old Pacquiao would want to go there.
Streaming services are probably the future and are just going to get bigger. We've already seen Facebook, Amazon and YouTube dipping their toes into sports markets. It can be a much for the end customer though having to pay so many platforms if you want to watch it all
When will these Matchroom Boxers stop hating? By the way it was an $80mil offer by Wilder that Hearn and Joshua turned down and left on the table not the $50mil which was previously reported.
Pretty sure that's not true. This fight will struggle to make $80m nevermind that being Joshua's fee
Appreciate the honesty & fair scoring. I also had it even through 8 but Taylor picked up the pace & sealed it with that KD in a fight that should have been scored 116-111 on the outside.
Taylor killed him with counters, inside & on the breaks. Postol kept him at distance pretty well throughout but couldn't pull the trigger with that right enough. Good work to the body though, a decent jab & left uppercut that snapped his head back more than a few times.
Really impressed with how Taylor handled the championship rounds by just going for it, had never been through 10 before I don't believe, let alone 12. Added pressure paid off with that KD & forced Postol to fight more defensively the next couple rounds. Seemed to be the difference in the fight even though the judges had it wider than should of been. All in all, great action & very entertaining bout. Looking forward to seeing both again actually. Taylor passed the giant step up in comp with relative ease.
Yeah his longest fight before was the 9 rounds against Vazquez and those rounds weren't as hard and challenging as last night.
It was great to see going into the championship rounds and looking stronger as the fight progressed. It should be WBSS next or Ramirez for the WBC. Saying that I think Ramirez has an optional defence so maybe a keep busy fight
If he deals with Postol I'd like to see him fight Relikh for his WBA title next, and then down the line, Prograis. Some cracking fights to be made at 140.
Hopefully Taylor will be in the WBSS
The majority of us know how corrupt boxing is already, but comments like this take it to a new level.
WBC are like canelo said he didn't so we believe him. Utterly shameful
:lol1:
The way they have built this fight up is dangerous in my opinion
Both Leeds and Cardiff have a pretty big hooligan problem . There will be a load of fighting in the stands in this one
Selby will batter Warrington in the ring though for sure
That's actually a really good point. They'll have all day and most of the night getting wrecked as well. At least the football is usually an early kick off.
I can see it kicking off if Selby is strolling the fight
Bellew claiming to be a better boxer than Ward has to be the most deluded, among a long list of, things that he's come out with. The only reason he can step into the ring with Ward and not get embarrassed is the sheer size difference
Interested to where you think the final will be held ?
I think it'll be in Scotland, probably the Hydro in Glasgow again. They could get a stadium in Edinburgh, but not sure there'll be a quick enough turnaround time before the football season starts.
Cant see it being in the US because the crowd at Prograis last fight was extremely poor
I know this will probably get shouted down, but is there a more pragmatic solution? I’ve often felt watching from ring-side (at much smaller local bouts, I don’t get ringside at title fights!) you actually miss quite a few shots that you see clearly on video afterwards from a better vantage point. I guess what I’m saying is maybe their is a technology solution or perhaps a better location for judges to
score from? Just putting it out there for debate ...
One problem I see with that is who controls the editing and replays? Networks are inclined to show more replays of the home or big star fighter landing their shots
I still haven't seen this. Was there any controversy as to the winner or was Taylor clearly the better man?
I'm Scottish and thought Taylor won 115-112 but the scorecards were far too wide
Canelo has really blown it for himself now as well. Even if he beats GGG, it will be a tainted win as people will always be unsure if he was on PED's.
GGG is in a tough position if Canelo is cleared to fight. Take the moral high ground and lose millions, or risk a loss against a guy who potentially has an unfair advantage
60-40 in Canelo's favour and make it happen. There's only a few other fighters they can choose and retain credibility and those are all tough fights for less money, especially for GGG
This fight "HAS" to be made @ 200Lb! Otherwise it's a complete farce. Yes let Bellew have home town advantage, but let's stick to the cruiserweight limit & not split the title's!
Usyk is probably going to give up they belts to move to HW anyway. There's not really any one for him to beat at CW. Bellew at HW would be a good first fight before moving on to the big dudes
The only wanker is the one who thinks 0.2lbs means struggling to make weight. The guy had breakfast prior to the weigh in and never missed a meal throughout the whole camp. Hes clearly a 147lber, Kell needs to stop being a pig and control what he eats the fat mess.
Where you with Khan this morning and all through camp as you seem to know his diet very well? If he knew he was going to be tight, he could have skipped a meal.
I agree Khan is a 147 fighter, but he's using that as an excuse to avoid Brook
That Whyte PPV is going to bomb.
Big time. The Brook fight was a mismatch but at least he's a big name. It's what Hearn deserves as Whyte v Parker is not PPV worthy anyway
