Combination
15th Year in Boxing
A good day again to all of you, my beloved followers, fellowmen, fans and those who loves the sport of boxing. I wish that you are in good condition like yours trully, and that I am busy preparing for my next fight.
On March 13, in the middle of America, in the wide Cowboys stadium in Arlington, Texas, I will face and fefend my WBO crown against a sturdy, big and strong African from Ghana,
Joshua Clottey
While we are preparing with my team here in LA, California againts the fight versus Clottey, a boxer that never quits, I am celebrating my 15th year anniversary of being a professional boxer. But It felt like It's just yesterday
Yes, Time is very fast and It's been a while since I am fighting in the ring. It seems that I grown into a student of the sport. In the span of long years, I've learned things that should be learned and now I am happy to stand as the primary ambassador of the sport.
On January 22. 1995, In the far, Mondoro Occidental, I started to fight as a 16-year-old youngster that even needed the premission of my mother to fight due to the fact that am a minor.
After 15 years of being a professional boxer, I've almost recived all the blessings that I've never expected. I've never imagined that I'll be recognized as No. 1 pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. Even in my wildest dreams, since I am a kid, I've never thought of winning seven world titles in seven different divisions, and faced the "giants" that I idolized when I was a kid.
If I needed weights on my pocket to be able to achieve the weight limit when I was a youngster, now I needed to eat a ton of rice to be able to achieve the desired weight, because I am fighting at 147-pound that it seems to heavy for me.
I am still capable of fighting at 130-pund division but It will be very hard fight. When I got the 135-pound title, I never expected it would be easy.beating Oscar "Golden Boy" Dela
Hoya in the 147-pound, and taking the crown of 140-pound class against Ricky Hatton, also my win againts Miguel Cotto, who is the former champion of the welterweights.
In the mids of all, It is the Almighty God who always guides us, and in each prayer and support of all who believe in my skills is where I find my strength. Thanks to all of you,
the ones that loves me. Like before, I will try my best, but It felt like I am just starting, because I needed to learn more. In our journey, we are all together
Until the next Combinations. God Bless Us All
