and undefeated in 475 amatuer fights...including 5 pro lol...i don't think he'll change..."much"
I think you've exaggerated that record just a tad, an amateur record of 475-0 would be quite ridiculous haha
His amateur record is somewhere around 374-12.
Either way, he's probably the greatest amateur boxer of all time. Can't wait til he gets some bigger fights, he's looked damn impressive so far.
Man, you can't judge a fight by stats and highlight videos, thats how the boxrec warriors do their thing, its blatant ignorance.
Too many people bring up this stats bullsh*t, who landed more shots? who threw more punches? it mean f**k all. A fight is scored after each round based on a variety of factors.
Btw, I still agree that Dirrell won this fight, but even he admitted after the fight that he did too much holding and fought ugly, which didnt do him any favours. He changed that against Abraham so credit to him.
Judges are bullsh*t, and the Super6 is really highlighting that fact. Instead of getting angry at Froch fans, why don't you get angry at the people responsible for all this bullsh*t scoring we've seen in the last year.
Not a fan of these face-offs, it just feels like 2 men put in an awkward position with Max Kellerman sucking their balls, but I can see how everyone gets hyped up from them.
Am I wrong in saying that Americans probably like these more than others?? Not being disrespectful or anything, I just think its more of an American thing.
Is anyone else tired of hearing how bad Pac wants Floyd?
I mean enough already!
I hear Manny saying, "I want to crush him", "I want to kill him", I want to beat him in the ring "severely"......
If you want something that bad DO WHAT IT TAKES TO GET IT!
All I hear from Floyd is, "Take the test and we can do this", no anger, no fear. "Just take the test and I will whoop you".
Now who really wants the fight?
Wise up mate, that is completely untrue. He talks trash about Pacquiao every single chance he gets, which happens a LOT more than Pacquiao talking about Mayweather.
It's the same for both teams, all Mayweather had to do was sign the contract too. If you're looking for someone to blame, then blame the media who keep asking them the same questions day in day out.
The referee was a joke.
-Missed a knockdown for Abraham (the punch hit before the feet)
-Ridiculously warned Abraham for slight pawing, letting Dirrell off the hook when he was in trouble.
-Allowed the doctor to spend around 2mins looking at and TREATING Abrahams cut
-Was too far away from the action to break up the fight when Dirrell slipped before the DQ.
-Didn't ensure that the corner was properly dried even after previous slips.
And you accept this level of refereeing for super fights like this?? Not good enough I'm afraid.
It was a totally correct call on the DQ, no excuses.
No way Dirrell was faking that either, he was completely out of it. It annoys the hell outta me that there are so many people allowed in the ring after fights, especially when there's someone hurt. The guy clearly needed some space and no one even took any notice, especially his own team shouting in his face.
Abraham's mistake, just when the KO looked like it was coming he does that. Shame, couldve been a very interesting finish.
These two are fast losing respect in general by neutral fans, personally, I always and always said that Khan was over rated BECAUSE he was over hyped and shown against poor boxers.
Ducking his mandontory and then having the balls to claim maidana ducked him which is why he is still the champ when everyone knows golden boy threw money at a boxer who does not generally earn well to tie his hands
Then we have bradley, oh bradley, the americans in general were praising you to the end of the earth as being the real and only true 140 champion, heck they even said you should fight pacman.
It is fair to say this guy has gotten exposed to being a ducker, the way he is pussying out of fighting alexander after running his gob that he wasnt to unify the division by defeating him and khan.
Both are total frauds and over protected jokes, I almost want Pac to go down to 140 so he can k0 these frauds
Personally, I think you're the fraud.
Khan is young and is picking exactly the right opponents he needs to develop and gradually build his name. His career is only getting started and you're accusing him of ducking already??? wise up mate.
As for Bradley, I'm not really a fan but he already has a solid resume and is progressing nicely. Not sure why you think he's a ducker because I'm pretty sure he's willing to fight anyone.
It's hilarious how serious people are taking this. It's a bit of light humour for f**k sake, I hardly think he's taking Mayweather that lightly.
Some people on here need to have a laugh instead of getting all offended.
Man I'm hungry, goin chinese tonight, just can't decide whether to go for some sweet chilli prawns or my usual honey chilli chicken, tough choice. On the other hand, a good old greasy donar kebab could be the answer.
castillo clearly beat mayweather first time round imo
both pac/marquez fights could have gone either way
I second that.
It's easily Castillo, I think even Mayweather fans would agree to that.
Pacquiao weighed in 2lbs under the WW limit, and even to do that he has to eat like crazy to keep his weight up. He's only 5'6.
Mayweather isnt as big as someone like Clottey but he still has a much bigger natural frame than Pacquiao, he's over 2 inches taller and doesn't have to bulk up to make 147, its a natural weight for him. I dont think he could make 140, where as Pacquiao could do it fairly easily.
yet, u got people who have the nerve to say paulies gonna get knocked out?
Do you people watch boxing AT ALL?
This dude had 2 cuts, a broken nose, and his ****ing jaw looked like a softball and still didnt go down from cotto.
Yeh man, Cotto gave him an absolute beating, he dropped him in the 2nd rnd though (i think?), but he did make the final bell.
I dont see Khan knocking out Malignaggi, but most of Khans KO wins are from the ref stopping the fight, I think that's a possibility if Malignaggi loses his focus late on.
A mismatch?!!? it was one of the toughest fights Pacquiao could have taken!!
All this bullsh*t about boycotting fights when we have 2 great fights to look forward to, are you serious??? after these fights, there will be another chance for the Pac-May fights so keep your knickers on and enjoy the boxing.
I'll be paying for and watching both the fights, no problem, I don't even care about the undercards, any good fights would just be a bonus.
are we forgettin about khans glass jaw?
Man it could be made of eggshell for a fight against Malignaggi, he still isn't getting knocked out.
Anyway I don't think his chin is as bad as everyone makes out.
i am gonna buy Shane Vs Floyd jr :D i want to see Sugar shane beat floyd if possible..
i will probably watch Pac vs Clottey but i wont buy it...
Hopkins Vs Jones Jr II...maybe...
wbu guys? are you going to buy any PPVs?
Same for the Mosley-Mayweather fight, just hope its a good close fight and Floydie doesn't stink it out too much. Not a May fan, but could be a great fight.
Pac-Clottey is a defo for me, really looking forward to this one, Clottey looks ripped and ready to rumble. Expecting another world class performance from Pac.
Hopkins-Jones Jr, not hyped about this fight at all, but will most likely watch it on a live stream, no way I'm paying for it.
Go to http://sports.sho.com/, it's the first vid on the list...
I thought the Showtime website would be too obvious a place to look.... oops haha
Thanks bud!
I'm seriously worried for the people who think Malignaggi could possibly win by KO/TKO.
I mean come on, my granny could probably go 12 rounds with him.
Mayweather Jr is a friggin kid compared to Freddie Roach, I don't really think this is a fair comparison.
Mayweather is easily more successful in the ring, he's a very smart fighter, but if you're talking about "boxing intelligence" then its not even close. Freddie Roach has lived and breathed boxing for 50 years and was taught and trained by Eddie Futch. The guy is proper old school. He's trained a whole range of world champions with a whole range of abilities and styles.
Mayweather has more boxing intelligence than Freddie Roach?? Give me a break.
Yeh man I was really really impressed with his body shots. He knew there wasnt much up top to hit, so the way he banged in those body shots was impressive. What was more impressive was the range of different shots in his combinations, and each shot had real snap on them.
He really felt those body shots, made him cover up even more than he usually does, and he had to shake out his legs a few times.
Great display of boxing from Pacquiao.
I didnt mean he was the same as Froch, just that they're both extremely tough and that the fight could play out the same. Kessler underperformed so badly against Ward, anyone who has seen him before will know that he is so much better than that.
They beat Kessler because they were able to frustrate him, Ward did it from the start and Calzaghe did it when he realised he couldnt outbox him. I don't think Froch has the ability to do that.
He may have a good jab, but Kessler's is one the best, its practically a power punch. Totally agree that he will have to show some grit to beat Froch, but I think he's easily capable of it, he's extremely tough. I just can't see Froch winning this fight, especially in Denmark.
Kessler will outbox Froch all night long. I see it being similar to the Kessler-Andrade fight. It's against a fighter who is almost impossible to KO and will literally keep coming until the final bell, but is ultimately very limited.
Kesslers movement is too good, he's smart and he's an excellent counter-puncher, he'll be sticking that jab into Froch's face all night. It'll be close for a few rounds, but once Kessler finds his range and gets that right hand going, it'll become one-way traffic.
Kessler by comfortable UD.
A lot of people underestimate Kessler's footwork. He doesn't have the best lateral movement but he's very agile on his feet and he moves very quickly when in trouble. As soon as he's safe, he gets straight back to his fighting distance and looks to get in control again.
