All shit.................
This boy is going to look like a Mayweather clone.
Better believe the shoulder roll, shell defense, and right hand leads are coming next..
:boxing:
No, he won't. Mayweather will probably build off of what Guillermo already has. He is too old and experienced to be emulating another style.
I think Rigondeuax is going to be who he is in the ring but I think Roger is a good fit for his style.
Freddy Roach may be the better trainer (which is not really a sentiment I agree with because I think it depends on the guy who is the best trainer for them and just because one guy was aces with another doesn't always make him the correct choice) but how many guys can he really train, I have often wondered how a man (and mind you he is not healthy) takes on so much work there are only so many hours in a day. To me if he made this move it boils down to getting most of Roger's time rather than getting 1/100th of Roach's time, plus I think Roger would want to do it because he needs to set things up for when Floyd retires.
The downside to the move would be what if Roger goes to jail.
Very good points.........
Ill bump this for the guy who just found out about Rigondeaux.

Here is my take on Rigondeaux...
While I wish he would have stayed with Roach (Roach is by far the best trainer in the game) I can understand the move as Roach trains tons of fighters. Guellerimo wanted more time from his trainer and with Khan and Pac being on the level the are, I just can't see that happening.
With that said, I really hope Rigondeaux finds a good trainer and I'm glad he is going to 118....a division he should have been in the whole time.
Rigondeaux's gonna be a beast regardless. He needs to be on the fast track tho cuz he's not exactly young.
Yeah I heard Cab and Moreno rumored to fight him.
I think you've exaggerated that record just a tad, an amateur record of 475-0 would be quite ridiculous haha
His amateur record is somewhere around 374-12.
Either way, he's probably the greatest amateur boxer of all time. Can't wait til he gets some bigger fights, he's looked damn impressive so far.
Freddie Roach is arguably the premier trainer in boxing, right now. And, while Roger Mayweather may not be in his league, he still trains one of the best (many will say the best) P4P fighters in the world. Trainers like these don't hold the mitts for just any palooka starting their pro career. A blind man can see that Rigondeaux is something very special. These trainers only confirm that notion. I don't see any other elite trainers falling over themselves to train one of the other Cuban defectors, including Yuriorkis Gamboa.
Why would you stay with a guy who is too busy with other guys?
Roach has to train Manny, Khan, and Benavidez. He doesn't have a lot of time to spend with each fighter and Rigondeaux would be better off with a trainer who can spend more time with him. Rigondeaux is already a very good boxer and has his own style.
Now, this is an excellent point. If the rumor is true, this is perhaps the most likely reason for Rigo leaving the Freddie Roach camp.
and undefeated in 475 amatuer fights...including 5 pro lol...i don't think he'll change..."much"

cause roach is hot right now and rigon can leach off some of manny's success. I mean even pac's sparring partners are known.
Rigondeaux was already well known in the boxing community before he started working out with Roach.
What has Roach or Manny done for him since he's been with Roach?

You mean Rigondeaux? Southpaw version of Floyd??? Nah, I don't think so. I think Rig is technically gifted and has ring smarts, but offensively he doesn't hold a candle to Floyd at all with speed, countering, movement, accuracy, etc. Rig also isn't a spring chicken either, so you gotta wonder how much better is he gonna get, even with Roger (who IMO won't make Rig into a superior fighter).
I think Rig though is ready to fight some top competition. Hope he flourishes.
I think hes ready for top comp right now too.
With the Floyd stuff. He has the type of patience, countering ability, quickness, reflexes, timing, etc...
I think as he gets used to the pro game his offense will mature.
This isnt entirely true. I said from day one hes a southpaw version of Floyd.

stick with freddie roach

Roger has yet to produce a top fighter outside of Floyd and he can't even take full credit for Floyd's success.
Roger = most overrated trainer in the game
terrible way to backtrack.
just admit you dont know sht about rigondeaux. thats all.
yeah he'll throw a lead right like a floyd right??? as a southpaw, right??
for him to turn him into a floyd clone, he'd have to completely dismantle guillermo's style and build it from the ground up. that would be an idiotic thing for him to do with a 29 y/o prospect. that'd be like trying to get ODH to do the shoulder roll defense. oops, that was already tried and failed.
not every fighter can do what floyd does, nor should they if theyre trained by a mayweather. good trainers adapt to the fighter's strengths and weaknesses, not impose their style on them.
i suggest you look up footage of dion savage. i dont see that dude being cute using the shoulder roll and sht like that. hes trained by roger.
all this being said, there's no proof that rigondeaux is with roger going forward.
This isnt entirely true. I said from day one hes a southpaw version of Floyd.
rigondeaux was good before roger, he'll be good after roger. its'not like roger built this cat from the bottom up.
the mayweathers probably gonna use rigon as a sparring partner in prep for pac. also rigon probably has insider info on the going ons of the WCG, the mayweathers are looking for something... either to help with the lawsuit or to help will the potential fight.
It's hard to take anything from that video, but he definitely didn't look comfortable there.
well i mean its a new trainer, he could get comfortable, who knows...
but if your having trouble knowing where to plant your foot, cuz u want it on the inside and the trainer wants in on the outside lol....it might not work, time will tell
