I watched the fight last night(55 inch lcd, not no stream or youtube bullshit) and i gotta say overall Referee Cole did a good job.. Compared to recieving criticism from his recent fights, i thought by far this was his better refereeing fights.. Cole early in the fight warned Andre about pushing off with his forearms which i thought was a good call, also Abraham was warned for measureing with the left arm...Later Cole gave Abraham a breather for a borderline punch which was questionable, but cole did say Abraham pushed the punch down with his guard...at the end of the 7th Andre landed a counter which sent Abraham falling but the ropes prevented Abraham form hitting the canvas, by rule it should of been a KD,, Cole missed this one,,Later in the fight in the middle of the round Cole called the doctor to look at Abraham cut above the right eye.. The doctor spent nearly 2 min not only looking at the cut but putting pressure on the cut to try to stop the bleeding and wiping the rest of the blood of a Abrahams face,, for a minute there i thought the doctor was a cut man...Later in the fight Abraham landed a right forcing Andre on his behind..This was a questionable call, as the punch did land but also the feet did come together as Andre was unable to get his feet under him..Good call on Cole to see this one. Late in the fight when Andre slipped and was punched when he was on the ground,,Cole right away tried getting a response from Andre and without hesitation called for medical staff when Andre was unresponsive..I think this was an excellent call by Cole since the Safety of our boxers is the number 1 priorty in the sport..i rate Cole performance 8 out of 10 being the highest...

cole is a dirty c0ock sukker
abrahams disqualification was justified, while calling time out because of a little cut was absurd.
The time out was good, however the docs took too long to send him back out
every time i felt like there is gonna be action now, cole stepped in and detroyed AA's rhythm.

dirrell was the better man that night, but AA is better than what he showed yesterday.
it was definitely not only dirrells style which caused so much troubles to him.
i hope AA forgets his first loss quickly, and comes back strong in his next fight.
You were talking about this rhythm from AA
At the time it seemed like Abraham was doing some damage, but take a close look, The Matrix was very matrix like:

13 punches for Abraham, 0 landed.

Much respect...I know you bringing up all his past fights but im not talking about his past fights, im only talking about this fight only, i know he's been shit referee from the beginning but I really thought this fight was his better refereed fight by far...i never said it was a perfect refereed fight to begin with but people keep bashing this dude like he the reason AA lost. There was no favortism in this fight, if he did miss a call on a the KD, well both fighters didn't get the call so it wouldn't of made a difference..both fighters were warned early about measuring and pushing off with the forearms. AA was given time to rest on a very questionable low blow..AA received a good treatment in the corner by the doctor..i mean how is this favortism..overall i think Cole did a good job...
yeah i feel ya, i still think cole did a hack job, but like you said, much respect, that is the beauty of life, we saw the same shit but saw it completely different, i love it and hate it at the same time, do good on yours chillin and lets hope we get to see bradley in some more exciting wins. im thinking of going out to his next fight in palm springs, i got family there, i was out there for the darchinyan fight, any who, peace bro.
He did a great job in my opinion. He had a lot to handle that fight. It was pretty much only fair through natural events that the second time Abraham got knocked down, he didn't call it, so why are people complaining about when Abraham knocked Dirrell down through a slip? It's no different. Dirrell couldn't get his foot back underneath due to the trip, it could have been called either way and people would've been bitching. Abraham measuring, Dirrell pushing with his elbows, the low blows that were for the most part caused by Abraham himself. His fast reaction to see if Dirrell was fine. People think he's biased, and these to fighters are no strangers to referee's having to get involved, it's almost inevitable. I think Cole did a great job and no other ref would have done better.
Great post

i whole heartedly disagree, cole is a consistent unprofessional, his resume shows this, time and time again. and as for a judgement call is concerned, to me that is a copout that allows one to never be questioned, which is bullshit and why replay should be involved.
sad to say chillin, you will never convince me or my eyes and wits about this one. glad to see you really stick to your guns, but for the hundredth time i've seen this knockdown and the cheap shot, it's still a legit knock down that was missed and AA took a cheap shot, which wasn't AA's biggest punch of the night either.....
coles body of work is really disgusting over the years, i advise you watch any and all of his fights that he's ref'd, you will be bothered by his incompetence. i shudder every time i see him in the ring. if you like what he does, then you must not like fair and balanced refereeing and must be amused at the slow destruction of boxing's credibility with this guy........ seriously watch his fights, it's sickening..........

You serious?? Everytime I see that **** officiate a big fight he does something retarded. another missed knockdown call that moron should wear glasses next time. And then the low blows he never did anything about it one time AA complained and the **** just stood there and dirrell almost took AA's head off.
Cole did a pretty bad job as usual, I really come to expect bad refereeing once I hear Laurence Cole is in charge of a fight. He let Abraham convince him he got hit low when it didn't look that way then let Dirrell get away with punches to the hip, then let Dirrell off the ropes with a really stupid warning to Abraham for sticking his arm out, then he missed a clear knockdown, then was too far back and way too slow to react when Dirrell slipped to the canvas. I really don't mean to be on Cole's case but he's a terrible referee, he would never be where he is today without his dad's influence.
The Facts are the feet did get tangled as Direll tried to slide his foot back.. its a judgemental call weather if Direll still would've hit the canvas from the punch recieved from AA.. Fact is Direll tried to get his feet under neath him while falling back, the tangle feet did help the fall...excellent call on Laurence Cole

their feet touched, as they did the whole fight, but that isnt what caused dirrell to go down, it was a clean shot to the mug that sent him down, not tangled feet. like i said, either cole is a complete idiot or on the take. it has to be one or the other because he makes too many mistakes to be a professional. too many mistakes, too many times, too often.
either way, it was clear that dirrell was going down from the shot and not tangled feet, even if the shot didn't hurt him, it sent him down, cole was playing favorites i guess, it's not like he hasn't done it in the past before...........
cole is scum and needs to be removed from boxing.........

He wasn't able to slide his right foot back because Abrahams foot was behind Andre foot...it was a questionable call but you can't deny the fact that the feet came together

Wait wait, so your saying, Direll was never in the corner being blasted and that Cole jumps in letting Direll move back to the center of the ring? Is that what your saying, YES OR NO?!
If Direll was being blasted in the corner he would've been layed out on the floor...Cole only stepped in if the fighters were tied up..most of the time Direll slipped, moved and circled with footwork and kept the fight in the middle of the ring and used his range...
LOL..ya Direll wasn't running circles around AA,. he was pummeled in the corner the ref had to help, keep AA from killing Direll in the corner. Sounds like you need an upgrade...

Wrong and wrong! Sounds like my old piece of shit 38 inch is better than your "55 inch lcd, not no stream or youtube bullshit"

I recall both fighters being warned Abraham for using his arm as a measuring stick and Direll as pushing off with his forearms...after being warned it wasn't a factor afterwards..both fighters kept it clean after..The KD was questionable,, it showed clearly the feet coming together, now would Direll stayed on his feet when AA landed and the feet not coming together, its questionable, but the main thing that stood out in front of Cole the the feet coming together...and i don't recall Andre getting pummelled in the corner.. the only time i saw Andre in the corner was when he slipped on the water in AA corner..
