I give him credit for how he's turned things around. Salita is a good fighter and Khan did a number on him, he impressed me against Kotelnik and did well in the Barrera fight. I know people were upset about the way that fight finished, but Khan dominated. Even Barrera at 50% of what he once was is a tough fight.
Khan is 22, he seems to be improving fast, I think he could develop into a real world class fighter. You can't fix a bad chin, but you can learn to protect it, and in any case any fighter that has a chance of winning or losing by KO against pretty much anyone he fights is always going to be worth watching.
He will never be popular in the US, he's British for a start and the yanks hate UK fighters, plus he's muslim, that's a double whammy of unpopularity right there. However is he keeps winning and keeps improving, at least he won't be ignored, people will watch hoping for him to lose if nothing else.
The kid is 22 how can anyone call his record padded? What 22 yr old fighters are out there with better resumes?
I was never convinced that Khan was going to be a world beater, and the Prescott fight seemed to confirm that, but credit where it's due, he has done everything asked of him since and done it well. Maybe he will develop into a genuine world class fighter, he seems to be doing everything right at the moment.
One of the greatest american fighters of the last 50 years career just came to a humiliating end and all American fight fans can talk about is Calzaghe, pretty much says all that needs to be said about them.
So by that logic Calzaghe gets credit for 'old' Hopkins dismantling Pavlik? I think I see how it works round here....
In the real world no-ones legacy is affected by this fight, RJJ should have retired years ago, he will be remembered for what he did in his prime, not for the fighter he has become.
The biggest losers tonight are the Calzaghe haters that have exposed themselves as petty idiots that are more concerned with attacking a retired fighter than talking about the last fight of an all time great. Pathetic.
