I only live about 20 mins away from where he grew up and to be honest I'M NOT A FAN.
But let's get one things straight, I really thought Solita was going to take Khan through the trenches. Solita is a f**king good fighter! anyone with half a boxing brain knows that.
I honestly thought Solita might even KO Khan to be honest, but how wrong was I?
Give the kid some credit, he got KO'd by Prescott and changed everything from his attitude, training and everything. He's worked hard with Freddie and he deserves credit for this win. He's got my pat on the back, I'm starting to like him.
He's 22 years of age for gods sake.
He's also fast a f**k, if he can sort that chin out I think we're in for some excellent fights as he matures and gets older.
Oh and if you spar with Manny Pac it's bound to improve your skills.
When dumbasses starts making threads saying khan can beat floyd and pacquaio, then no shit u won't see khan get any credit. You know how many threads and post pop up comparing khan to
Floyd and pacquaio. I give props to Khan, but some of his dumbass fans is he reason he is not getting any props right now
I give him credit for how he's turned things around. Salita is a good fighter and Khan did a number on him, he impressed me against Kotelnik and did well in the Barrera fight. I know people were upset about the way that fight finished, but Khan dominated. Even Barrera at 50% of what he once was is a tough fight.
Khan is 22, he seems to be improving fast, I think he could develop into a real world class fighter. You can't fix a bad chin, but you can learn to protect it, and in any case any fighter that has a chance of winning or losing by KO against pretty much anyone he fights is always going to be worth watching.
He will never be popular in the US, he's British for a start and the yanks hate UK fighters, plus he's muslim, that's a double whammy of unpopularity right there. However is he keeps winning and keeps improving, at least he won't be ignored, people will watch hoping for him to lose if nothing else.
I would alway give credit to Khan because he's only young at 22 if he was 26 or 27 like Hatton in those days then i would have critise him but boxing is full of critics like himself.
He gets credit
For beating Kotelnik, Salita is a high end club fighter who's resume consists of mid and bottom end club fighters who had no business being in the ring with a top 50 LWW, it's a scandal the guy was ever top 10 for a belt much less no1 contender.
That said, that has nothing to do with Khan and he did exactly what he had to do.
I'll give him credit again when he fights a good fighter.
And? So what? Does that not make it more interesting to watch?
When he fights a good boxer, with some power.
Not when he is fighting poor fighters, fighters with no power or one dimensional fighters with only power.
Im from UK and had never heard of salita,
But he was the mandatory challenger, and he also seemed to have a good pedigree ie wining the golden gloves and being undefeated.
So i would have to say Amir deserves a bit of credit he did what he had to do,
and did it very well.
His speed has always been there but the power was much improved.
Im from the UK too, and i haven't heard of Salita. Well, on a couple of undercards but that's it.
I know he had to fight him, but he gets so much hype over this win when infact, Salita is a poor fighter.
credit? hahaha no one gets credit around here unless they're the posters favorite fighters.
Hopkins and Ward are cheaters, Mayweather is a ducker, Mosley is old, Pac man only fights at catch weights, my hands are cold, Ali sucked, foreman was overrated, pavlik is one dimensional, and everyone else is overrated, or either bums.
That's the way it is around these boards I see. Guys will always hate and dissipitate another man's career with bias and irrational arguments. Nice try though TS
quoted for the truth
Has he improved? yes.
Is Salita on the same level as Khan? no, he is a poor fighter.
When Khan fights a fighter on the same level as himself, I'll give him credit. I see no reason why he can't be the top man in LWW division, seeing as Manny is a WW now. But he needs to fight these guys to prove it.

As much as it pains me to say it he has looked awesome in his last couple of fights:boxing:... you gotta still worry about his punch resistance though !

I already did... :D
great win and he gets plenty of credit from me,he seems to be getting better with every fight but his chin is still the big question when stepping up against the elite boxers but i suppose thats what makes him exciting to watch because you never know:boxing:
