Eddie Hearn, Frank Warren and the other promoters can see the Zuffa/Turki threat like a bright light coming from the other direction of a dark tunnel they are stuck in.
Hearn isn't badmouthing White and Zuffa every opportunity he can just for something to do. He is deeply concerned about what's ahead and doing everything he can to try and destabilize an extremely dangerous, approaching enemy. He even concedes through clenched teeth that they are dangerous.
Well Eddie should have been thinking about this when he first brought Turki into the sport. Ed was too busy taking Turks money while Turki was positioning himself for a hostile takeover. All money ain't good money and now everyone has seen what Turki and White's TRUE INTENTIONS ARE. Get the Ali Act amended, slowly but surely set up boxing UFC style, pay the fighters peanuts while they collect millions and ease the other outfits out of business
the ibf has been here since 1983 and aint going nowhere. Dufus boxing will be gone in 2 years. I don't get what the big fuss is here. Dana white is on record stating he will not recognize any of the sanc orgs. Why the fuqk should the orgs recognize him? Wtf???
say it louder for the haters in the back!!!
Doesn't this make the IBF look bad? The number 1 rated guy in the division is not your champion anymore but I guess BBC Brickshithouse Glanton can fight for the vacant, he deserves something after a stellar performance in losing to Buff Guy Jai.
No it doesn't. Dana said he was NOT going to work with any of the sanctioning bodies. Now the IBF stands up and fights back and THEIR WRONG?
I'm glad the IBF took the stance they did because Dana threw the first punch by BOLDLY declaring, that he was NOT going to work with ANY of the sanctioning bodies nor any other promoters. The other belts should follow suit. Any boxer that fights for the Zuffa belt will be stripped of theirs. Then Dana will have all the time he needs to get his Zuffa belt together. Jia was declared the undisputed champ. HOW? LOL.
Secondly, where was the backlash from writers and fans alike when Dana said he wasn't working with anyone? Isn't thisbwhat fans have said about why boxing is where it is because nobody is working together? But here we have OPENLY declaring this and NOTHING? Please!! Not one of these writers are calling Dana out on his nonsense Turki has bought up most of the media and they don't want their spigots cut off. Again I hope the other belts follow suit.
Margarito jr was done by the second round. He said he was nobodys punching bag.vyeah oksy. He was that and then some. It was as if rios was asking after eating punches "thank sir can i have another". Floyd is not next. Another top rank opponent is. The floyd fight is smoke and mirrors. The ppv wont crack 500k. Lets see pac call out canelo
Is khan serious right now?,Brook needs to prove himself? At least hes a welterweight. Ok khan...tell u what...u go win a title...and then talk about who needa to do what...and do it at welterweight...u whinny baby
Was always going to happen as Wilder never wanted the fight so you are half right.
Wilder has the fight offer in front of him but is not interested.
Whyte is the next best option and is has done far more to deserve a fight than any other fighter.
Wilder made it clear that he wanted to run it back with Fury as he should. The fight ended in controversy and neither can just take another fight with this being unresloved. Eddie knew this as well. But has been talking AJ/Whyte for sometime now. So it's not a shock.
Because it does not work like that. If a fight is not agreed in principle and team Wilder had shown no interest in even wanting to have a meeting or even talk about the fight then why should he travel thousands of miles to turn up? Wilder did not show up to AJ's last fight.
AJ turned up to Whyte-Chisora because the fight was taking place in his home town and it is with his same promotional company Matchroom, it is a stupid comparison to make.
There was ar reason Why Wilder didn't show uo to AJs last fight. Wilder was set to do commentary for AJ/Pov under one condition..That he is able to enter the ring and confront AJ to jumpstart the fight. A couple days before the fight, Widler was told he would not be allowed to enter the ring to confront AJ and that extra security would be added around the ring to ensure Wilder didn't get into the ring.
Okay okay okay Eddie, I ll act surprised. Now clears throat and dawn my Home Alone face.."Oh my god? Is Whyte really the front runner to fight AJ?!? This wasn't always the fight that was going to happen on April 13th. No way. I don't believe it. Eddie wouldn't lie to the public like this"....
A few of things. One, Eddie knows exactly what he is doing with this move. Wilder has a fight in front of him and it makes no sense to sign a contract right when the outcome hasn't been decided. Hearn secretly wants Wilder to lose because it will be easier to deal with Fury. Plus UK vs UK would be massive. Two, If Wilder agreed to a low ball deal he would be stuck with it. Beating Fury increases his percentage to 40 percent easy. Three, Whyte was always the opponent. If you follow the paper trial, Hearn started this process when the WBC refused to acknowledge Whyte as Wilder s mandatory. But the AJ-Lights will still defend AJ
Watch all the Wilder's haters say, "Wilder is ducking" because this statement was made. AJ said the same thing and nothing will be said. BOMB SQUAD!!!!
I wonder if the WBC will chastise Ruiz for saying "He is willing to die in the ring". I winder if all those who came down on Wilder for saying he wants a body on his record will come out ane jump all over Ruiz for saying what he said. Maybe not. It was worth a shot though.
Hearn trying to drum up business since AJ/Ruiz is getting no buzz. He has to bring up Wilders name. AJ said he wasn't going to be rushed into a match with Wilder until he was in position to win and that could be in 2019 or 2020. He said that 2018. Wilder said he didnt want to fight until 2020. They BOTH said the same thing, but ONLY Wilder is getting trashed for it.
Hearn throwing out kibbles and bits again, to the public and hope they gobble it up? First rule in the cash cow play book; they are never out of options. And what increases AJs options is he has three belts. Usyk could have and still can use his Ace in the hole WBO mando card. Pulev is the IBF mando and there is the WBA who could rear it's ugly head. And then there are the voluntaries. This why i was against Wilder signing that deal because Wilder could have gotten screwed. I know unifications are "supposed" to trump mandos, but that does always happen.
People can say what they want about floyd being a "cherrypicker" but this proves u cant take anybody for granted. Gonzalez is banger and mares tried to be a hero and didnt fight his fight. And people complain about no consistentcy with champs. Some cant even hold on to thw title longer than two or three defenses. Say what u want about the k bros but they are running the division. floyd baby. By the way does anybody know whats going on with showtime time warner beef?
Well, this null and void because Pulev and AJ have reached a deal. BUT...if i were Wilder i would make Hearn pay and pay dearly. Hearn is asking Wilder to walk away from an opportunity to regain the very thing he defended 10 times. BUT...If i were Wilder, i would make Hearn pay dearly to step aside. I would ask for 50 million bucks and be serious about it. We all have heard the "the winner of this bout will face the winner of this bout" even with a contract in place.
What's even more interesting is that Wilder or Whyte could get screwed. My guess would be Wilder. The winner of AJ/Fury would have to face Whyte. And if it's AJ, then Whyte fight DEFINITELY happens as to keep the belts in the matchroom family.
Some posters just love making up stories that fit their agenda.
I've been following ticket sales closely and a couple weeks ago there was only 1000 left... so yes I believe they opened up more sections.
He sold 15k vs Ortiz. Wilder draws just fine.[/QUOTe
Ive been trying to follow the ticket sales for this fight as well. Where did you get the info? I tried Stub Hub but to no avail.
Martinez won't fight Triple G. Di Bella will give another no name and claim that Triple G doesn't bring anything to the table. He will go on to fight another no name or continue to chase the smaller Floyd. He certainly won't go up to face those at 168. So forget it.
So alvarado gets praise for getting the snot beat out of him, and where the punch ratio was 4 to 1 in favor of marquez, but rigo puts on a clinic and HBO wants to throw up? If a fighter loses enough times, the people will grow tired of him. Ask Pac. He was lying gace down against Marquez, and arum still praises Pac.
If this passes, the U.S. can kiss its free will goodbye as many smaller promotional outfits will be run out of business. They can either join TKO/Dana White/Turki or find other means of making money. This could affect Arum and Oscar as well. BUT....it will Oscar and Arum's fault if this bill passes by bowing their knee and giving Turki a way into boxing. We'll see!!
What is Hearn talking about? The last time Wilder wanted to come to an AJ fight he had extra security around the ring so Wilder couldn't enter to hype the fight. And I didnt see AJ at the Wilder/Breeze fight. So apparently, AJ doesn't want Wilder going by Hearn own logic.
By excuses he means he wants you to stop mentioning your correct assessment of the dazn deal. He wants wilder to sign with dazn so that Hearn can have more control and PBC less control over American boxing. You are quite right, dazn wants the subscribers from two demographics that wilder would bring to the table, Alabama fans and nationally black American fans. Hearn tried to get this demographic when he first came
Over and tried hard to sign Spence, Broner, the Charlos, tank, etc etc. Dazn really wants that demogrpahic and to now not one fighter they signed brings that. As you said, it’s not wilders job to make dazn successful.
Now i understand what PLPLEZ meant. Thanks for the clarity. I thought he meant "I" was making excuses. I understand the business of boxing and the control en****** want. Most hate discussing that side. I want big fights just like everyone else, but this is the bull that fans must endure. Quite frankly, im okay one way or the other if they don't fight (which they will). Won't be ther first boxing has missed big fights. And it won't be the last.
Somebody get Team Martinez a :bottle: Martinez can put on a couple pounds go to like 162 or 3 and hed b a super middle weight. He walks around weighing between 170-175 pds. They just don't want to be embarrased. But he will shrink himself to fight Floyd or Manny? :baby:
You are talking a pile of rubbish. I think that at your level of ignorance you should read the sites for about 5 years before posting anything which would show you up so much. But you are not alone, I'd say that there are only about 3 posters on this thread who know what they're talking about....plus myself.
Cotto was with Arum from his very first pro fight until his final contract expired at the end of December 2011. He took two fights as an independent, with Golden Balls fighters in 2012 and lost them both. He then came back to Arum and Top Rank is again promoting his fights on a fight by fight basis.
The reason he didn't re-sign with Top Rank after having had Arum guide him for over 14 years to a hugely successful career, had nothing to do with money. It seemed to have been because he allowed the ignorant fan base-which makes up about 90% of all boxing fans (my opinion) to stir his mind up over an unsubstantiated accusation of a Margarito fraud in their fight. And, golden Balls tempted him with a Mayweather fight.
Arum felt, from the Commission verdict, (which absolved Margarito from cheating but penalised him because "you are the head of your team") that Margarito was being unfairly treated by the public -like a pariah- so he supported him and helped him.
Cotto obviously feels more comfortable with Top Rank so what difference does it make to YOU.....? Not ONE SINGLE PERSON on this whole site knows anything at all about the financial arrangements of the major match-ups. The only way they could know, would be to have copies of the relevant contracts, as well as the reported IRS tax returns of the fighters. What fighter do you think will give this info to a reporter??? Eh??
I know that you're not exactly asleep when it comes to boxing--but you're not exactly awake either....... So take my advice.
Have you never heard that "Fools Rush In where Angels Fear To Tread".
I was being funny with the arum crack. But since you want to go there....lets start with cheato. Only God knows how long he was using the plaster. He finally got caught against mosley. Cheato tried to save face by blaming his trainer. If u watch the end of the cotto fight, his wraps were pink on the inside. Chreatos record after being caught was 1-3.
As far as cotto goes, he ONLY resigned with top rank to get revenge against margarito. You know if cotto would have left top rank then, he would not have not gotten that fight. You see Arum isnt anxious to put his cash cow into the ring with Cotto. Especailly not at 54. They eanted to drain cotto back to 47 to make the fight happen.
Sure arum will work with Cotto against sacrificial lambs like rodriguez, but who is he? Just cotto woulld have never gotten the floyd fight had he still been on top rank. Mayweather asked for 10 million to fight him and arum lowballed him. You right, cotto is smart enough to resign to top rank because he sees whats happening to pac. Even if cotto was fighting at 47 and was doing a fight by fight basis, i bet he wouldnt be able to fight bradley, marquez, ruslan (if he decides to move up).
These are great numbers considering it was going up against the All Star weekend. Kudos to PBC/Al Hyamon. Haters will find a way to try to discredit this. Im surprised that Hearn isn't hating on it since he's been hating on Wilder/Fury
Wilder Stops AJ Very Easy With That Weak Chin!! Ruiz Will Do Same Thing In Rematch If There Is One!! If Not Look For Al To Give Ortiz Step Aside $ For Undisputed Unification Between Wilder & Ruiz!!
I can totally see that happening. Haymon controls all the belts now.
Now if this were Floyd or Pac, this thread would have over 30 pages already especially if this was Floyd by himself. 40 pages easy. But because its Mike it will get some hits, but it will fly under the radar.
Hearn has been blabbing non-stop about the conditions involved with a possible rematch. But I would like to know what stipulations are in that contract. Because, Ruiz is now the Champ and he doesn't operate under Hearn's Matchroom banner.
Does the contract explicitly state that if Ruiz wins, Hearn who represents Matchroom, would DICTATE what happens next, where and when?
Or does Ruiz (The New Champ) have the option to pursue other choices.
Hearn may be trying to steamroll Ruiz into doing what works for Matchroom and AJ, negating the fact that Ruiz may have no obligation to do what Matchroom wants. Even though the financial rewards may be immediately greater.
I state "immediately" because, believe it or not Ruiz holds all the proper cards. And with good guidance can make a fortune while he holds all the belts.
AJ earned four times what Ruiz made in their fight. Ruiz has every right to demand the lion's share of the purse for a rematch. And if the finances isn't binding per contract, then Hearn\Matchroon can be bent over and plugged good for a 70/30 split in Ruiz's favor.
Just a thought ......[/QUOTE
According Ryan Burton who writes for this website, says he just read that Hearn has options on Ruiz for the next three fights. But it seems that Hearn is trying to make sure Ruiz doesn't get a voluntary defense if he choses to do so or anything. Hearn wants all those belts back in AJs hands immediately. But Haymon is not going to lie down to Hearn. I think he will make things difficult for Hearn to control everything.
