I just saw that Paul Williams and Sharmba Mitchell have signed to fight on ESPN2 in the next couple months. I came across it on another website. I've seen Williams a couple of times, most recently on ShoBox. He is a very tall Welterweight, although he's slightly gangly. He's undefeated in, I think, 28 fights, but Mitchell will be by far his biggest challenge to date. Williams has shown impressive boxing skills, and Mitchell is on the decline... this could turn out to be a good fight...

Last night was a marvelous performance from Joe Calzaghe. I've seen him fight several times, but his performance last night was special. I am a big Jeff Lacy fan, and I hope he can come back, but he was outclassed last night. I haven't been talking much trash coming into this fight, because I knew Joe had a chance. However, I did pick Lacy by KO in 11, so I'm here to say... I was wrong. I wish Calzaghe the best if he moves up to 175, and I think he could beat anyone there, with the exception of Tarver. I told Scap I would personally congratulate him if Calzaghe won, because his analysis was very logical, and his analysis was actually 100% accurate. So congratulations, Joe Calzaghe, Calzaghe fans, and last, but not least, Scap... good call man. So where do you all see Calzaghe going from here? I'd say he'll fight Clinton Woods next. How about "Left Hook"? He was exposed last night, and I ate my words. I had said that I thought he was a better all around boxer than people thought, and he showed nothing to back my theory. I do hope Jeff can improve his skills, and come back strong, but I wonder what's next...

There are a lot of young guns out there garnering major attention, and for good reason. Three guys that come to mind are Andre Ward, Joel Julio, and Amir Khan. I think all three of these guys are future world champions, and have unlimited potential. We haven't seen much of Khan or Ward yet, but they both appear to be special fighters. Of the three, Julio has impressed me the most, and I think he's eventually going to be one of the best pound-for-pound in the world. Julio Caesar Chavez, Jr., on the other hand, has a lot of maturing to do, and just hasn't impressed me as much as these three. Jr. will probably pad his record like his dad, and have about 40 or 50 bouts under his belt before taking on formidable opponents. Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for his father, and I think Jr. will have an excellent career. However, in my eyes, Joel Julio is the most impressive up-and-comer I've seen. So, who do you all think is the most promising prospect out there? Feel free to write in other guys I may have left out. A few guys may have slipped my mind, and there may be some future stars that I'm unaware of. As always, thanks for your input.

I don't think Sam Soliman, although he's a very tough guy with a lot of heart, deserves a title shot after his loss to Winky, but the possible Vernon Forrest-Ike Quartey bout on the undercard is worth the price of admission to me... how do you see this card playing out?

Corrales and Castillo are preparing for their rubber match as we speak, and with other good fighters around like Raheem, Freitas, Morales, Casamayor, and other guys possibly moving up (Barrerra, Pacquiao, etc.), the lightweight division is wide open. The class at 140 is also very solid. With all these guys around, some big-time fights could be made in the future. What do you wanna see? What do you think will happen?

There are so many great fights out there. Unfortunately, we get a couple a year. I would love to see Lacy-Tarver, Cotto-Hatton, Corrales-Morales, and a handful of others... what do you wanna see?

This fight would've been classic a few years back, and even though neither is the fighter they used to be, I highly anticipate this superbout... thoughts?
