Though I like both, flash in the pan Chapelle couldn't carry Dangerfield's microphone. Rodney had a decades-long career and several major films. Dave imploded in less than 3 years on TV. He's the Tyson Fury of comedy.
Kell's interviews make me think he's prepared to lose. He went through it last year and I think his confidence, his feeling of invincibility is broken. That matters in fight like this when you've got a young lion ready to take your head off.
Dangerfield is similar to Kell Brook.. They both get no respect..
I Hope Pete is 100% healthy this will be Spence toughest fight. This fight will be competitive
This will be nowhere near Spence's toughest fight.. Brook will hold that honor for the 6 rounds that he was able to do something with Spence.. Peterson is good, no doubt, but Spence will beat him at the game he likes to play.. Peterson is ripped but I don't see him taking all of Spence's body blows and staying on top of his offense..
Yes but a fighter's timing is dictated by what? How well he processes what's going on in front of him.
I've seen over 10 fights from Brook. He's very patient and sets everything up slowly over the course of rounds. Even when he gets the rythm of the other fighter he takes his time.
That's going to be tough to do in this fight. It worked against Shawn due to Shawn's size and poor technical discipline. Spence is a presser fighter with much better footwork and ring IQ. He'll speed Brook up a lot in this fight.
Barring some unknown chin issue, he stops Brook imo due to volume of punches and pace.
Spot on! Spence will push the pace of the fight and have Kell on the back foot.. If Kell can't overcome the pressure from Spence, I see a late round stoppage..
Errol will understand why Amir Khan ran like a rat twice from career high paydays against Brook but Spence looks good and he will come again.
Horrible example.. Amir Khan is from the UK and has a porcelain chin.. Spence beats both..
To all the Brook fans on here please tell me what his most dominating performance is so I can watch that fight and see what you fans are talking about
The Calzaghe-Lacy fight was Brooks most dominating performance.. The sprit of Brook was in Calzaghe when he beat Lacy and therefore is an outstanding win for Kell.. I knew at that time he was going to be very special and avoided by most in his division.. He lost to GGG on purpose so that he wouldn't be avoided any longer.. I hear he once KO'd Ortiz in sparring and uses the same nutritionist as the jolly green giant.. I see Spence losing and not even hitting Spence even once because of Kell's experience #ManDown #AndTheNew
yeah its time for you to shut your mouth, talked a lot of ****. fair play to you coming to uk, cant fault that, but youre going back to america with a 1 in the loss column, boy.
Spence talked all of the *****? Every other article and interview mentions Ezekiel talking about chocolate brownies as well as how Spence's competition has never been at the level he is at..
Spot on! Spence has a lot of hype around him and could be a beast but we have to wait and see.
Let's not forget that Paulie gave Broner a good fight at 147 and Spencer is a big 147. So should not look into that too much.
I think this is a 50/50 fight and you could stay this is better than Thurman/Garcia as both are natural 147 fighters. Garcia grew into the weight.
If I had to pick, I would say Kell on points. Expect him to do the same performance he did against Porter and hit and hold.
Problem with that theory is that he won't be able to hold Spence like he did Porter.. Porter throws wild, wide hooks to the body, when inside, which allowed Kell to wrap him at the elbows to stop his inside attack.. Spence holds the telephone with his shots on the inside and throws uppercuts to the body.. There won't be much for Kell to grab with how Spence holds his guard unless he lunges for it during the exchange.. If he lunges, he is sure to be hit with massive body shots on the way in.. I doubt Brook tries to clinch unless he is backed to the corner or ropes, where Spence is most dangerous..
if he beats kell brook aka southpaw slayer i will give him full credit.
The southpaw slayer? Porter nor GGG is a southpaw so the competition Brook beat that were southpaws were journeymen.. Spence will see if he has the proper footwork to deal with a southpaw that can press the pace and put some pain in that gut..
Brooke should do what Jacobs did not show up for the 2nd weigh in
He would lose his title if he did that.. Jacobs couldn't win the IBF since he missed the morning weigh-in.. If you are a champion, you lose the title, win or lose.. If Brook were to win, there would be a vacant title..
If I were Rob, I wouldn't take step aside money unless it is in writing from both boxers that he will get the winner.. I would give the same 120 window for the winner to prepare for their fight but no more time than that..
Hatley knows that he got the business from Spence.. We know who the best boxers are in Dallas and that's James' stable.. He has Jermell, Rob Brandt and Spence all sparring each other, they are of Champion quality in 3 different weight classes.. Hatley should focus on Jermell right now though, Spence won't be in the ring with him come fight night..
Experience, experience is what I hear from Brook fans.. The experience against GGG and Porter is all of the experience he has.. Every other fight, Brook was facing talented amateurs at most.. People want to ***** on Spence for his resume when he has been pro less than half the time of Brook.. You are as good as the company that you keep and Spence has sparred/trained with Mayweather, Broner, Porter, Brant, both Charlos, Theophane, Hooker and more.. If you think there was no experience from that, then you have to be slow..
The only problem for Spence is we don't know how well he takes punishment. We have a pretty good idea Brooks chin is ok. Was the wobble against Larte just one of those things? I got a feeling there's a flaw there. But this is how we find out, because Brook is nothing if not accurate.
Lartey caught him with a desperation shot when he was green and still applying pressure when the fight was won.. If this were 3 fights ago, I would sleight him but he has had 12 fights since then and stepped up the competition each time.. Carson Jones wobbled Brook but does that mean his chin is weak or he can't take a punch? No.. It happens in boxing and it's how you handle it afterwards that matters..
Lol he does have a stoned expression but look he's extremely confident and pumped I get that. But right after Brook accepted the fight and people were praising Brook Spence was quick to say, "don't praise him he barely took the fight and didn't really want it". And in the weeks leading up he's gotten more vocal and seems like he's overlooking Brook and talking about Thurman. I just think this is gonna be a damn good fight but if it's close I don't see Spence winning
Was Spence telling a lie? Not, IMO.. Brook stated that he was not excited to fight Spence and his team did everything they could, including a 7 day extension in negotiations to try to make a Brook/Khan fight.. Brook didn't want this fight.. The IBF had to release a statement notifying the public that Brook wouldn't be able to take another fight besides Spence and keep his belt.. It was the fans that made Brook take the fight combined with level of competition that was still available to fight in the timeframe he needed.. That's not arrogance on Spence's part, that's him telling the situation like he sees it..
After the Berto fight, Porter should avenge his loss to Brook.. Brook will need a good fight after he loses his title to Spence and it's no better time for a rematch to see how each has improved over the years.. Even in becoming mandatory to the WBC, Thurman has a greater chance of getting a tune-up fight and the Peterson fight before his mandatory is ordered..
I hope it lands in Dallas at my Cowboys stadium. Would make a hell of a venue to watch the fight with the huge screen and I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo getting beat in front of his fans that are sure to be in attendance if in TX. GGG could be set up for 2 huge paydays if he is able to beat Canelo in the 1st match. That would automatically bring a rematch just as big and he would be the A-side at that time. Can't wait until September 16th.
I hope that there will be no excuses once the fight ends. I don't want to see any articles about weight drainage, fractured sockets or inexperience as a reason for the loss. I do wonder if Brook loses, will he brag on this loss also like he is doing about GGG sparring him..
Brook beat Porter more decisively than Thurman did
Sure he did.. The majority decision that Brook won by trumps the unanimous decision that Thurman won by? Not sure how you came up with that realization but Porter/Thurman had FOTY potential.. Brook/Porter was a decent/physical fight..
Hey man listen up. Kell Brook is a very good fighter. Beat up short Port in America. Now facing Spence in the UK makes Brook a potential winner. Think Calzaghe vs Lacy. Spence might be vastly overrated. look at Spence list of bums-Bundu-Algieri-Barrera-Heerden-Lo Greco-Vargas-Castro-Bolanos-Cruz-Charles-Olouch-Cuevas-Lartey. Not one name fighter. Look for a Brook KO.
You mention these opponents like they were bad for his career. You do know that 3 of those fighters are ranked in the top 15 of at least 1 sanctioning body, right? Spence is where he needs to be as a fighter and has climbed that ladder.. You can attempt to talk quality of opponents but Mr Brook has defended his belt against mandatories that are nowhere near the top 20 of any list.. Just tell it like it is.. Kell is just as much of an unknown as Spence to the world.. I'm pulling for Spence because he has been training and sparring with top names to take advantage of his opportunity.. I expect big things from him because iron sharpens iron..
Funny how the boxing world wants the WW division to have a unified champion but Arum and Pac don't want or care about unified titles. Behind the scenes they have been working a while to get the champions and the best in the division to fight each other over the next few years but said that each team had to volunteer their cooperation.
All were on board except for Manny and Arum. :argue: They would rather fight tomato cans to end a HOF career. Arum also mentioned that he is not interested in matching Pac with any top welter. He wants Horn type of fighters.
Spence totally thrashes this guy!
I doubt he would be ready for a September fight, the way that he took a beating from Pacquiao.. Even if he was ready by then, this would be one of the easier fights for Spence.. Horn was just requesting Spence and Loma to help him train for the Pac fight.. If he ever meets Spence, Horn eats the mat in 4 round or less..
I`ve watched him since he turned pro son. He does swing wildly an rush his opponents and he will get countered.
I don`t really think he`s a good fighter. He did what Porter did by looking amazing against a few subpar opponents (with no power). Then when he faces Kell and feels that power on his chinny chin he`s going to back up and he can`t really fight too well on the back foot cause he`s flat footed, then he gets stopped.
You couldn't have seen Spence fight before.. He is one of the calculated and accurate WWs with his punches which is why he so dangerous.. His body work is 10x better than Porter's.. His stance literally allows him to throw punches from all angles, especially to the body..
Brook will make the weight but he will not be able to take on the onslaught of Spence.. The eye nor the weight will be an issue besides him not having the extra lbs to help absorb the body punches.. If Brook looks anything like Chavez Jr after losing the weight, he will go down early in this fight..
Based on a bum catching him with a good shot and him taking a round and a half to recover. You know if KB hits him with a good shot and smells blood it's game over.
Like Spence didn't win every round, including the round where he was caught with a desperation shot.. Why would Spence try to KO Lartey when he clearly had the fight won on the cards? Casuals, I tell you..
Usually very little can be taken away from sparring. But there are situations where sparring can be telling. We really wouldn't know.
Just release the tape and we'd be able to tell what's going on. Maybe one guy was working on something?
But what I've noticed about Spence is that he spars a lot (look at his IG account). He probably always has his foot on the gas. That's not normal in sparring.
He does.. I'm in Dallas and Spence is always getting decent work.. From all of the sparring sessions I have seen, he is putting his all in his punches and steadily improving his endurance.. I haven't heard much about Hatley through the outlets here and this isn't the 1st time that I have heard that Spence has worked a guy larger than him..
Possibly. I still think its a little impressive for a guy that was 23 and 4-0 at the time. If others don't, no big deal.
The Brook fight will let us know where he is now.
He is spot on.. It's impressive for a boxer that was only 4-0 was able to hang with Floyd.. This was before the Guerrero fight and they were both going full speed.. Just to think that was 4 yrs ago so his talent level should have risen considerably from actual bouts and the sparring he has gotten from the several seasoned vets that have worked with him..
Bread makes a great point about Spence and pace. I see Spence vs Brook going exactly like Brook vs Golovkin without the broken orbital.
I see it that way also.. As long as Spence isn't lacking on his defense, I see him pushing the pace and dealing several body shots that will slow Brook in the later rounds..
I see Spence working the body and countering upstairs when Kell opens up.. Kell will catch Spence with 1-2s while he uses his hand guards and stagnant head movement.. Kell will use more movement with Spence to attempt to avoid the jabs to the midsection and left hooks to the body.. Kell will slip the uppercuts in a few times but Spence handles them well.. Spence will be the aggressor and press the pace of the fight from the opening bell.. Kell is fatigued from the landed body work and slows in movement but is still near his punching output from the earlier rounds, just with less pop, in the later rounds.. Spence tries to walk down Brook by the championship rounds and opens his defense somewhat to get Kell to come in.. Spence closes the last rounds and win on the cards, 7-5.. If there is a KO, it will be by Spence in the championship rounds..
Forbes deserves more credit for "caving in" Oscar's face because he's smaller and never been a puncher.
GGift is a puncher.....he caved in the face of a smaller fighter.
Plus
Oscar > Kell Brook
Now let's make a statue of Stevie Forbes and worship it like ya'll do GG .:lol1::lol1:
No one is praising GGG for beating Brook the way he did.. It was Brook who thought he had enough to compete in MW against the division's top dog.. We expected Brook to get stopped or KO'd.. The fact that GGG lost the 1st 2 rounds but was able to fracture Brook's eye during those rounds is impressive but he doesn't get kool pts for it.. The point is, Kell lost and in horrible fashion.. He lasted 4 & 1/2 rounds, which is typical for a 3G tune-up.. 3G was the smaller guy on fight night, not Brook.. Book is just too weak to compete at anything above 147.. :bottle::bottle:
Saw the interview.. Spence seems to be a good guy, didn't want to give much details away but Kreigel kept probing at him to say more.. Its sparring, stuff happens.. It is undeniable Spence might be a better puncher than the current WW but Brook & Thurman are more fluid than Spence.. Being a southpaw might give him an advantage in terms of the angle.. Can't wait for the fight.. :boxing:
Being a southpaw, I think the angles will work towards Spence's advantage.. He has no choice but to face mostly orthodox fighters since they are the majority but has Kell fought a southpaw at the level that Spence is.. I understand that he claims himself an the "southpaw slayer" but the best southpaws he faced was Gavin and Dan.. I don't feel that either of them have the ring generalship of Spence nor were the same threat by a long shot..
