Derrick James, trainer of undefeated Olympian Errol Spence (21-0, 18 KOs), says his boxer must dominate the rounds in order unseat IBF world champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs) in his backyard.

Spence will collide with Brook on May 27th in the champion's home venue, at Bramall Lane, in Sheffield.

The venue will be packed with fans who are going to cheer on the hometown hero - which obviously could influence the judges to score the rounds for the home fighter.

Spence has been out of the ring since his crushing knockout victory Italian Olympian Leonard Bundu, which took place last August in Coney Island. The contest was an IBF final eliminator.

For Brook, this will be his first bout since suffering his first career defeat last September at the hands of IBO, WBA, WBC, IBF world champion Gennady Golovkin at the O2 Arena in London.

Brook moved up by two weight divisions to challenge Golovkin for his middleweight belts. During the bout, Brook suffered a fractured orbital bone and was eventually stopped in the fifth round.

James wants to his fighting to rain down the punishment continuously, round after round, to leave no doubt if the fight reaches the final bell.

"I think he has to beat him, beat him up. His brother can judge the fight, I don’t care. He just has to keep winning each round, that’s all he has to do," James said.

One of the main sparring partners for Spence was WBC junior middleweight world champion Jermell Charlo, who recently demolished mandatory challenger Charles Hatley.

According to James, Charlo was a huge help in camp - because he feels the boxer is better than Brook in every single category.

"Jermell is faster than Kell Brook, he’s bigger than Kell Brook, he’s stronger than Kell Brook, he has better defense than Kell Brook, better offense than Kell Brook but at the same time people talk about Kell Brook bigger, better guy. You saw what he [Charlo] did to Charles Hatley," James said.
