According to undefeated Olympian Errol Spence (21-0, 18 KOs), next Saturday night will be phase one of his plan to unify the entire welterweight division.

Spence will finally get his mandatory shot at IBF world champion Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs).

The fight takes place on May 27th in the champion's home venue, at Bramall Lane in Sheffield. Showtime will televise the fight in the United States and Sky Sports Box Office will handle things in the UK.

Once the fight is over with Brook, the young boxer wants to stay very, very busy.

Spence has not been happen with his inactivity, He's been out of the ring since his crushing knockout victory Italian Olympian Leonard Bundu, which took place last August in Coney Island. The contest was an IBF final eliminator.

The inactivity was due to the injuries suffered by Brook in his first career defeat, which took place last September at the hands of IBO, WBA, WBC, IBF world champion Gennady Golovkin at the O2 Arena in London.

Brook moved up by two weight divisions to challenge Golovkin for his middleweight belts. During the bout, Brook suffered a fractured orbital bone and was eventually stopped in the fifth round.

After Brook, Spence wants to immediately begin phase two of his plan - which is a unification with Keith Thurman (28-0, 22 KOs), who holds the WBA and WBC welterweight titles.

But unlike the situation with Brook, where Spence had to sit and wait for the fight to happen, he won't wait on Thurman to make up his mind.

“He’s trying to fight somebody like Pacquiao which is understandable but after I beat Kell Brook, I am going to be asking for that fight, demanding that fight. If he can’t get the Pacquiao fight he ought to fight me," Spence said.

“If I have to wait on him [Thurman], I’ll try to fight Pacquiao or try to fight the next big name that’s in the division, but I’m not sitting around waiting on anybody anymore. This is the first and last time that I’m going to sit around and wait on somebody. When I have the belt, I’m going to defend it, fight and stay busy.”
