All he needs to do now is back up all that talk
Doubt it. I think Bradley is too good for him. Devon is still a little green to me, but so is Khan. He has a title, but he beat the weakest dude for it. You have to be good to win a title, but he still beat the weakest dude. Maybe he will rise to the occasion, but I haven't seen anything that says that...My dos pesos.
When was the last time you knocked anyone half decent out Mikkel?
not taking the piss, just asking
So you actually assume Carl Froch is half-decent? Robbing Dirrell, and barely beating a tired, non-prime Taylor does not make you a decent fighter. Mikkel in 8.
I'm not a big Calzaghe fan, but Froch would get beat up. If Jermain Taylor was putting it on him, Calzaghe would have smoked him like a cheap sack of dope. He got a gift by beating a still-maturing Dirrell...Think about it.
I always route for homefighters. But Froch is such a tit and Kessler is a cool guy that part of me want Kessler to just put Froch back in his place. Froch got outclassed by Taylor for 11 rounds....Taylor's honestly (or naivety) in not taking a knee when he was getting TKO'd cost him the win. Then, when Dirrell actually realise he was too good for Froch he boxed circles around him. Those two names on his resume are misleading.....whilst Calzaghe's resume is a bit suspect in places you can't deny the guy's talent that if he did take on the likes of Taylor and Dirrell he'd have made it easier work than Froch did.
First of all, LOL @ your friggin pics...That is outstanding! Second, I 100% percent agree. Froch is a dude whose mouth writes checks his ass can't cash. He got a nice win against Taylor, but was outclassed in victory. Same thing with Dirrell. Kessler will ruin Froch's already ugly mug with some pinpoint punches. If Jermain Taylor (less than prime) can dent your face, what do you think Kessler will do to it? I'm saying Kessler by a Mortal Kombat brutality...Round 6.5...Feel it yo...Feel it!
Maidana looks a bit soft but healthy, he normally looks very drawn in and emaciated.
A little too soft IMO. But hey, so long as he stays busy, I really don't care. I'd rather see a fighter remain active between fights to stay sharp. If the competition is a little sub-par then so be it. I'm good with it if he takes meaningful fights after his tune-ups.
Maidana looks a little tubby here. Then again, he wasn't ever overly muscular. Should take this dude out though. Still want to see him and Lucas El Skywalker Matthysse get it on.
I only logged on to see all the excuses!!!!! Lol, mayweather screwed himself out of some real cash for waiting!.
Real talk right there...PBF is still among my favorites though.
Just another reason sanctioning bodies should go the way of the dinosaur...You can BUY a ranking, so why do they now care about who the "champ" fights? No matter what, they get paid, and thats what they are all about. I say whack the sanctioning bodies and get on board with The Ring. Just my opinion.
Excellent fight with heart shown by both fighters. Props to stealing the show from the wackness that was the alleged "Main Event." Mosley should have channeled his inner Jr. Featherweight...
Hey Cliff! Good article. I would say he is an All-Time Great for his resume. I think though, that he is at the end of the line. At this point, all you really need to beat the Hop is activity and a good, fast, hard jab. Pascal's jab isn't really there and that gives the Hop a chance, but I think he is enough past his prime that a lesser talent like Pascal takes him to defeat.
I don't think Nate has any quit in him. I mean, if you see spots instead of fists, how can you continue? Ortiz straight-up quit. I don't think he is a bitch or anything because he actually fights for a living, but maybe he should find a new line of work if he is quitting against the Maidanas of the world.
Mike Alvarado is a drug addict drunken bum
Lol why the hate? He is past it but he was a good fighter. Not great, but definitely good. Had a great fight with Marquez.
About time he gets back in the ring! I remember meeting him at a Friday Night fights in Augusta, GA. I got pictures with him and Lamont. Vernon Forrest (R.I.P.), Paul Williams were there too, but I only got a Pic with the Viper. Anyway, good to see him in the ring again. He needs to stay active.
I'm going with Green simply because he seems to have this attitude about him. I'm not knocking on Ward because I think he is an outstanding fighter. I like what I am seeing from Green though. I'm going with Green in 10. Just a guess, but a decent one in my opinion. I got a feeling about Green...
Absolute hyperbole. Broner is pretty good, but he just fought a limited guy in DeMarco. DeMarco is not without some skill, but he plods and wears you down with pressure. Saying he can beat Floyd or Pac is like saying that you can fart your way to the moon. Let's see how he does against a fighter with similar speed, and real boxing acumen before we anoint him as the best thing smokin'. That being said, I like Broner and think he can do some great things. I just want to see him fight the best and back up all that talk.
I can't lie, I don't care who has more PPV buys. If they wanna make it about who sold the most PPVs, then Floyd gets the bigger Pot. If it's about most excitement, you gotta give it to Pac. The man is a showman. I am a connoisseur of Pure Boxing. It gets me heated. But in terms of I'm about to take you man to man, Pac gets it hands down. Money made strides in that department against Mosley. I almost flew into African-American Nerd Rage. <----Who knew that could happen? Anyway, 50-50, 7 day test window, somebody get knocked out. There it is.
Bro.
When Paul STOPPED boxing Cintron wanted no parts.
I'm not saying he did or didn't quit, I'm saying that he was handling P. Will. I mean, I don't see why he would quit if he had P. Will throwing punches to stop from getting hit in the face again. Tell me P. Will didn't feel that right...
If he comes in as prepared as he was for Mayweather, I don't see why he wouldn't win. He has some distinct disadvantages, but Trout is no Mayweather. It will be interesting to see, and my predictions have been laughably inept, but I say Cotto by decision, but hopefully by KO.
froch wins this just like he won the last one imo.
I can agree with that. With Froch's recent form he looks like he'd even give SOG a good fight in a rematch. He looks phenomenal right now. I'll Froch over Kessler though. I might change that depending on how Kessler looks in his next fight.
So the question is: What's next for Alvarez? Lara? Not really much in the way of JMW except for the up and comers. I think Alvarez is small for middleweight.
