If Alvarado beats Provodnikov I can see him being the next opponent (TR = easiest to make)
Ideally (in dreamland) a fight with Mayweather would be nice, especially if Mayweather struggled vs Canelo or showed some signs of slipping, it might breathe new life into that fight. Most of the others are with GB: Matthysse, Broner, etc so probably only wishful thinking.
I'd rather see Pac - JMM 5 than Pac - Bradley 2 personally, depending on the result of their fight.
Mayweather - Canelo will be the 'biggest' in terms of hype and probably importance. Its potentially Mayweather's toughest fight in years.
Garcia - Matthysse is the one I'm most looking forward to personally. It should be exciting and sort out who the top dog is at the very competitive 140lb weight class.
Marquez - Bradley may be the closest and/or most evenly matched, with a high skill level.
Pacquaio - Rios will be exciting to watch but its importance lies in telling us where Pacquaio is after JMM 4, or if he has much left in the tank.
4 good fights, 2013 has been a good year for boxing.
Broner would be way bigger than Rigo. Broner was massive at 130 and doesn't look out of place at 147, whereas Rigo is a career 122lber who doesn't rehydrate much come fight night. I think Rigo would have the skills but Broner would certainly have the power to get the KO so it'd be a question of could Rigo avoid Broner's shots for 12 rounds? It's very hard to know really
I'm a bit surprised too with the amount of people who have JMM third. Then again I shouldn't be, because the three are very close. I rank JMM just ahead with Morales and Barrera pretty much even: I often change my mind about who to place over the other and to me they are pretty interchangabe.
Khan has looked caught between two styles since joining Hunter: He seems to be thinking too much in the ring at times at at others reverting to his old habits. I think it'll be very difficult for him to change his style sufficiently or improve his defense enough at this stage. His offence has suffered somewhat as a result also I feel as he seems a little tentative about throwing combos and sitting down on his shots. He is always exciting and it will be interesting to see the continued influence of Hunter
I fancy Barker at the odds (11/8, Geale is favourite at about 4/6). He put on a good performance vs Martinez and has come back from injury looking strong and sharp, albeit vs weaker opposition. Geale is solid but I had his fight vs Sturm a draw (could have gone either way) and don't think he did any more than say Murray or Macklin against Strum (I actually had Sturm losing against those two.)
It should be a good fight and might well be contraversial with many potential hard-to-score or close rounds. Judges scoring accuracy might suit Barker, judges scoring workrate may favour Geale.
