First off in 2007 Boxing beat UFC in PPV #'S and live gate look it up....UFC is all comercialization and will fade trust me...If MMA was so big why then can no other compaines put on PPV's and be successfull? UFC has a monoply on the so-called sport just imagine if this guy GSP was to fight an average UFC fighter but fought on his own promotion with say 3 local guys on an undercard it wouldn't draw shit because MMA can't sell without the UFC name. Boxing on a world-wide level is way over MMA...Is MMA an olympic event? NO Does it have a track record and a history like Boxing? NO..Boxing is engrained in may cultures and societys Phillippines,Mexico,PuertoRico,Cuba and in the U.K. it is not just gonna go away and that was the whole purpose of this post CLOWN was that UFC is taking over Boxing which simply is not and will not ever happen. That's how it starts man...You see 1 good fight then you start following that fighter and his next opponent and before you know it your hooked...My bro is younger than me and found Boxing to be boring in his words...He doesn't have HBO or SHOW so the only fights he get's to see is on ESPN FNF so I can't blame him for thinking Boxing is Boring...I invited him over for the JMM-Pac-Man fight and with 10 of my drunk buddies yelling and screaming he enjoyed himself and the next day told me man Boxing is intense when is the next big fight? IMHO MMA is for people with ADD...And your right you could take 2 BUMS from the streets and fight MMA style and produce an exciting 2 MINUTE KO but in Boxing if you take 2 BUMS OFF THE STREET and make them Box and use movement and angles and how to throw straight punches and turn ur punches properly it would look ridiculous and sloppy. That's why in my eyes Boxing and MMA aren't even close in comparision....A GOOD BOXING MATCH WINS EVERY TIME

Good points...I've tried watchin MMA it's just NOT my thing...It is annoying when MMA fans continue to think Boxing is dead and MMA is just the best thing going and that MMA does everything perfect while Boxing is corrupt and is this evil empire. If you do enjoy both fine but the points you made about that MMA/UFC is not killing off Boxing were good points.
UFC DID NOT HAVE MORE PPV NUMBERS THAN BOXING PERIOD. You can check Yahoo's Meltzer's archive who is pro-MMA and shows the breakdown of the top 15 PPV for 2007. The top 2 were of course DLH-PBF 2.4 MILLION and 850,000 for PBF-Hatton. UFC's best show did 650,000. So you do the math. Also don't forget Vargas-Mayorga did 300,000 PPV buys but did it for showtime and the 70,000 on the on Chavez JR card.
