Naw you might watch MMA but you aint a real fan... Also UFC not doing things right? ahahahaah Well shit look at the Big time Celebs they have every fight! They have all the hot young actresses like mandy moore, and hot porn chicks, and all the reality it girls there! They must be doing something right! You will never ever see a hot young actress follow say a boxing match either then oscar delahoyas fights...the only time celebs go to boxing matches is when they get free invites or are being paid to go. That's the first sign of the UFC being a trendy sport, do you think Mandy Moore is a fan of the UFC. They are just there because it's the trendy thing to do, they don't give a shit about mma they're just there to be seen. And yesterdays matches were ok nothing spectacular, we saw BJ Penn trying to be a boxer and looking somewhat good, he was afterall fighting Sean Shreck. The silva ko was just a sloppy haymaker fest. The Ortiz fight was just plain boring and the other fights were ok exept for that Sokoju fight that right hook was wicked. But on any given day I much rather watch boxing.

I havent seen the fight so I cant comment on their standup. I do know that Penn is one of the best fighters in MMA though so it doesnt surprise me that he looked good on his feet.

The funny thing is you guys feel intimidated by UFC...and gettin mad at us...but the thing is everyone in this thread who enjoys ufc also enjoys boxing and wouldnt give boxing up for the world...Because we happen to be fans of both...is that wrong? i was force to watch it because there was nothing else...the last fight was good because they were trowing punches and they were trowing good jabs. and there was another one..but the rest were shit and i was about to sleep since spinks-taylor.

That's a Japanese style stoppage right there. The worst example of it that I've seen is this Sakuraba fight. It is is amazing that Sakuraba came back and beat the guy but only with a LITTLE help from the referee... Sickening. I seriously think the Japanese people want to see him die in the ring, he should have retired after losing to Schembri and Silva back to back. He's going to end up like Bobby Chacon, I guess he's fighting Manhoef next wtf? did you watch that last inside MMA? Gary Goodridge was on there and he was slurring really bad, alot of these guys are going to in for a rude awakening.

I rematched the Frye vs Thompson fight the other day, it has to be one of the worst stoppages in the history of combat sports. it may not be what the casuall mma fan likes...but Sad to Say Bj Penn and Sean Sherk made Hatton and lazcanos boxing skills look sub par compared to there stand up battle...penns jab would of made emmanuel steward proud...if sean sherk did more bobbin and weaving and getting in close he could of did more damage...it was very technical boxing to be honest. Hatton looks amatuerish compared to those guys he came in with his face and chin up and throwing and upper cut or leaping uppercuts and getting countered all night by a lazy check hook from lazcano. Hatton showed much better wrestling skills them guys. BJ's and Sherks stand up is average at best. If it was any good or as good as what you say they would be in boxing. Instead Sherk is in MMA making $14,000 gurantees and begging Money Mayweather to come and fight him.

I'm not a fan of the way the UFC is run and the way they treat their fighters, you might not understand that but I'm a fan of fighters and fights not promoters and brands. The Machida fight was not great, it was very dull the first two rounds, nothing happend till the 3rd round.

Sergei Kharitonov is a good boxer (for MMA) with some amateur boxing experience, as are the Emelianenko brothers.
