Sergio you are the man ! Awesome fighter, you deserved the world championship.. Can't wait til your next fight. I think this time though there will be no robbing.
Bradley, you gained a true fan. That was an awesome display of bravery and courage. That Ruskie sure could pull a punch. Any time either of your names are up next, I'll be definitely be excited to watch. Well done to you and the Ruskie (sorry can't even pronounce his name, let alone spell it)
Cool, so it's not a PPV as such, just as long as you're a subscriber you're all set.. In that case I will become a subscriber. This is a fight I've gotta see !!!!
Who's the commentators ? How have their other productions been ?
So it seems Buffer is going to be there rather than Vegas for the Khan fight.
Well that settles it then.. Which is the bigger of the two fights:boxing: !!!
Froch doesn't get the media attention cos he's BORING to watch and lacks charisma.
Sorry Mr Froch, I will tune in and hopefully watch you get beat by Kessler come this Saturday, and I'm a brit. Doesn't say much for you does it.
This was the FIGHT OF THE YEAR for me.. Khan showed some amazing boxing skills but also shows some stamina issues torwards the end.. Maybe it was the unrelenting pressure from Maidana. Still don't think Khan is ready for the likes of Mayweather yet... Not sure he ever will. Mind you we have seen him fight a perfect fight in the past. So maybe it was that little Argie..
To you and all of the other morons:
1. Mikkel Kessler is a damn good fighter. He had JoeCal's number early on, but Joe showed heart and the ability to change in the face of adversity. He took over the fight and did what great champions do.
2. Everyone and their grandma's neighbor was picking Jeff Lacy to win that fight. You probably were too. He wasn't "exposed" until Calzaghe exposed him. He not only exposed him, but he handed him the worst beating of his career. Why? Because Calzaghe is the best boxer 168 pounds has ever known.
3. Hopkins didn't win the fight, nor was he close to doing so. He won about 5 rounds, if we're being generous. They were all at the beginning. When Joe took over, he was landing with his eyes shut. When the sweat started flying and Calzaghe started snapping Hop's face, he pretended to take a low blow to get a rest. He then proceeded to hug Calzaghe the rest of the night.
While people point to the age of Hopkins and Jones, let's not forget that Calzaghe was in his late 30's as well, and had been in the professional game just as long as they had. For someone who relied on speed and volume punching, those are the first things to go, yet he still beat them handily. Finally, stop kidding yourselves; Hopkins is/was still a challenge for anybody. He looks better now than he did during his last 4 years as MW champion. If we're going to turn back the clock on Jones and Hopkins, we have to do the same to Calzaghe. He whooped them while they were all old; he'd likely out-fox them if they were all young too.
This is coming from an American who was pulling for Hopkins and Jones to beat him. The bigger his competition got, the better he fought. Joe Calzaghe should be recognized as one of the greatest fighters of all-time.
Excellent post !
So how do I as a Comcast customer get to watch Epix ? According to wikipedia, comcast doesn't carry Epix events. I'm not on dish, so is there any other way to view these fights? Is it being streamed on the internet? Or do you have to be part of a cable / satellite provider who is affiliated with Epix ?
TBH their website is ****e. It doesn't mention anything about the boxing events, only streaming movies.
Haye was very impressive tonight. EpixHD came up trumps too. Commentary from Raphael was a bit poop mind.
There's no doubting Haye's skill and power. Yes he stunk against Wlad, Valuev and heck even for the first three rounds of Fraudley. Right up until the point he decided to hit him...
But you simply cannot deny, no one has been able to put Chisora down, and that includes the top HW Klit... So with that in mind Yes Haye is up there in the top 3, no doubt about it. He makes HW exciting, unlike the Klits.. The Thompson fight, i could have turned off half way through.
Hopefully we see a Vitali fight, and hopefully Haye engages, cos when he does, he's very very impressive... If he does, he's the favorite to win. But i think Vitali knows that, and will probably stay away, or make everything on his terms. Like stadium, ref blah blah blah..
I'm going to suscribe to Epix for this fight. However how have their other events been?
Constant HD ? is it even in HD ? I guess we'll find out after the fight.
Nacho is lucky his fighter didn't get KTFO in the last 10 secs of that fight.
Desert Storm won that fight, simple as that.
Sore loser. Storming off like that at the end....
bwah .. Gonna lose fans JM, if you carry on like that.
Chisora's been active, but I wonder how 'rusty' Haye will be. He hasn't had a fight since Klitschko a few years ago, and no tune ups. A few pics of him in his retirement showed he had a big ass gut.
This is the tune up.
This is actually the one and only MMA fight that I'd really be interested in watching.. If Thomas goes in for the legs he may very well get knocked out by a Mayorga punch to the back of the head, like he's never felt before.
Obviosuly if it goes to the ground Mayorga will be at a huge disadvantage.. However if both fighters stay up on their feet then Mayorga will be at a huge advantage.
As I said, one i definitely wanna watch.
Don King you are SCUM
Manny doesnt have to retire when hes still making that kind of scratch per fight. He just has to go back to being carefully match made. No more counter punchers. Hes still good enough to beat anybody not name Floyd, JMM, or Broner. Hes too old to get away with his mistakes now.
Nail on the head
