ummmm I remember Hopkins beating Eastman after fn2 came out. There is no curse
Wrong!! FNR2 was released on March 1, 2005. Hopkins fought Eastman on Feb 19th, 2005.
Check it out, Tuesday on PRIME TIME
Is it the 24th of this month? Why would they want to put it on a Tuesday up against one of the last weeks of American Idol? Hopefully it will do well in the ratings.
Yea, me too, I hope there is a DVD set, let's just hope they make it! Did they make one for DE LA CHOCHA's I mean Hoya's The Next Great Chump?
I'm hoping The Contender is doing better in ratings than The Next Great Chump. The Next Great Champ was moved to a different channel (though still a fox channel) before the season was over. Hoping with the Live Season Finale, it will bring in some viewers for another season. Kinda weird to think that this will be the first Live Boxing fight on one of the three major networks in YEARS!!
I agree. Great Episode. My wife cries during each episode at some point. Can't wait for next week, the teaser about 'most shocking ending yet' really has me wondering.
At first there was talk (or rumor) that Taylor-Hopkins may be in Memphis, so I held back from Tarver-Johnson. Wife won't let me spend too much money on fights. Now that JT is fighting elsewhere, if tickets are still available, then I might see if Mommy will let me go...lol.
I was kinda worried last night when the screen flashed and the fight was then being broadcasted with those black bars on the side...lol. Luckily the HD broadcast came right back.
Yeah, I Noticed that also.
I have noticed that in the HBO HD broadcasts, there is some pixelation, and the picture quality is clear, but not as clear as lets say HDNet boxing etc. I am not sure if the problem is the HBO HD feed or the Directtv feed.
Showtime HD boxing is the best picture quality I have ever seen. Just awesome.
Switching from replays to boxer's corner, I seen alot of pixelation. Also, I have Dish, so it wasn't just DirectTv's feed..lol. I have to agree also about Showtime HD....can't wait for the Kostya Tszyu on there in HD.
I have Dish Network HD pack and a 65' Mits. I agree with vizcaya about not all HD being the same. I love the quality of most live broadcasted HD programs. I would love to see Showbox and Boxing after Dark broadcast in 'true' HD also.
Being from Little Rock, I can't help but hope for the best for Taylor. Win or Lose, I know he has done Little Rock proud. Being a boxing fan, I think he is going to finally stop the B-Hop.....or maybe it's the EA cover curse.
I love the show. I was afraid it was going to be like The Next Great Champ...boy I was wrong. My wife even loves it. She cries during some point in every episode. She thinks that Gomez is going to win.
I live in Little Rock, Arkansas (Go Taylor!!), and I have Dish Network with a DVR. Type boxing into your Dish Pass and it will record anything with the word 'boxing' in the title. Never miss another fight!
