I saw the fight for the first time a couple of days ago. I think that it was pretty equal. Lewis did better in the second half. Lewis landed some hard punches and looked dangerous but Vitali landed more. All in all pretty equal to me.
I have heard over the years that Lewis was out of shape and fat. Maybe he was out of shape (he looked exhausted at times) but he did not look fat to me.
PS! I'm a Vitali fan which is why I had not seen the fight before. I hate to see my favorite fighters lose.
I honestly think a prime Tyson would have KO'd both at the same time within 3 rounds.
I'm so glad Haye did not win but I was hoping to see him out cold...oh well. Can't have everything.

I think the most important part of this fight was round 5, Froch clearly buzzes kessler and couldve finished the fight if he was on top of his game like before, froch with the drive and the experience of the ward sexual violation have made him a better fighter and kessler will get ko in the rematch or severly battered in my opinion
You seem to forget that Kessler buzzed Froch too. Legs buckled under Froch and he looked confused for a few seconds.

Kessler needs a win to save his career while Froch doesn't know how to lose. These guys will fight untill they drop.
Unfortunately Kessler will be the one dropped I think. He is not tough enough and he lacks KO power.
Absolute robbery...embarrassing score cards, the fact they scored the beggining of the fight to kessler shows it was a fix.

it was gd a fight, and a very close one at that. But the scorecards were abosolute crap. I had it as a split decision in favour of kessler. But no way should it have been a unnamious decision.

What!??? Kessler was wilder than ever almost throwing himself carelessly into Froch. Not tentative at all.

I think Froch was very dangerous the entire fight. I feared a knockout punch from him all the time. Kessler was so wild and since he is not used to that I feared it could go wrong.
I certainly have respect for Froch. Now that he has a loss he might become more humble, so that I can actually justify him as one of my favourite fighters. He is pretty cool when he is not trash talking.
Kesslers defense was a bit lacking. he got hit with a lot of stupid punches. Max Kellerman used to say that Kessler does not get hit with anything stupid. Well he did this time. Maybe because he is not used to fighting this way (less robotic and more varied). He also hit a lot of air which he does not usually do. He did good but I'm not sure that he will ever beat a fast slick fighter.
