Too bad this joke of a fight is still being allowed to happen. I bet DAZN feels really awesome about wasting their money on this ****ty ass fight and then Lemieux next. Smart, sound business decision DAZN. :You_Rock_
Hahaha! I think the only reason this was given the green light was because it was discussed between Oscar and John Skipper in a room with a mirror and a razor blade. I bet you Canelo's purse those two have the same coke dealer.
Hahaha! Canelo's big debut nearly trashed because of the disorganization of the two putting together this **** show. I'm beginning to think DAZN is actually Dutch for 'disaster'.
I’m no fan of DAZN but let’s be honest here. What top level serious pro boxer today doesn’t carry a United States passport at the ready? I mean CMON! They are freaking good for 10 years! Yes they said theyd take care of the app but it’s Fielding’s teams’ responsibility to follow up on that app each day to confirm its arrival and pick up.
Hahaha! They never called Fielding to tell him to pick up his passport! That's all they had to do and they couldn't even handle that and you want to put it on the fighter who was told it'd been taken care of! Hahahaha!!! De La Hoya and Hearn deserve each, the incompetence on display is astounding.
Most of the people in this thread whining about Wilder’s actions are the same ones who said he was nuts not to take a flat fee offer.
The biggest sign that Team Joshua screwed themselves is the fact that they are now strongly considering coming to the US for his next fight. He’s lost so much luster since the Klitschko bout.
What Hearn doesn’t understand (or maybe he does, hence the desperation) is that if Wilder-Fury 2 occurs, the winner won’t be fielding offers, they’ll be making them. And it’ll be up to Joshua to put pressure on his promoter. Outmaneuvered? Absolutely. Look where we were a year ago.
Bingo! You hit the nail on the head man.
All you're saying to me is that Keith has faced and knows how to handle adversity.
Can't say the same about Spence. He's only faced a pre-battered Brook. Hasn't taken any actual challenges.
Exactly, these dudes hold onto every little hiccup and ignore the overall picture. Dude was moving from round 1 through round 12 last night, his chin got tested and held up, and he outboxed dude in every round except for a couple against a guy who was motivated and had a great game plan. This reminded me of the Bud - Benavidez fight.

That press conference was so low energy and both guys were incredibly corny. Eddie really needs to let someone else handle the emceeing. Seems like Big Baby got told to turn it down a notch. Doesn't really matter as far as the fight is concerned, I think the style matchup will make for an interesting contest.
I think Aj beats wilder but Hearn is at fault for this fight not happening both Aj and wilder want it. If Aj is asking for it and wilder is asking for it I don’t get what Hearns hold up is. He obviously isn’t as confident as I am that Joshua can win
I completely agree with you man. I love both fighters and want to see them get in the ring against each other at least a couple of times. I was hoping AJ was going to dump Hearn after the $50,000,000 fiasco, but alas...
On the other hand Wilder has ducked everything that looks like a small threat. Not that Wilder is...
Hahahaha! Wilder? Why are you bringing him up, we're talking about the Booby Snatcher. He ducked an old man. Hahaha!
BWaHaahaHA!
He forgot to mention that George Foreman, who beat Smokin' Joe TWICE(!!!), won the belt at 45 years old. How old was Chisora on Saturday night? 35!!! Basically, the Body Snatcher did something Smoking Joe never could. AJ should just hand over the belts, Whyte deserves them.
Yo Betty Hearn fan girls, real quick: What are you going to do when AJ bolts Matchroom come November? Why do you conflate Betty's success with AJ's, even when they're own interests are at odds? Why are you so obsessed with a promoter???
I thought Vazquez did a good job with him in the Degale fight. Not sure switching trainers again is the best thing here. Should stick with Vazquez.
Completely agree, showed real improvement in a very short period of time. Was excited to see what would happen over a longer timeframe of working together.
Hahahaha!!! Poor Hearny, trying to spin gold out of straw. I've noticed that he can't keep CANELO!!!, GOLDEN BOY!!! and OSCAR DE LA HOYA!!! out of his mouth, but they don't seem to ever mention him. Looks like he's gone from TAKING OVER AMERICA to being a salesman for DAZN. I hope he's getting a commission!
I actually like you even though I always attack you but you never stop whinging.I finish playing football on Sunday , Thack is already on posting his emotional distress about Eddie or his dad. I Come back from a party 4am in the morning, Thack is still here getting through his last post on Barry Hearn. I send a post out 9am before work , Thack has been up for the last 1 hour and his whinging is in full flight. Sometimes you have to just let your bullocks hang.
Take me for instants. I know Bad Bart takes his kids to church on Sunday between 12-2 so I’m at his apartment butt naked teaching his Mrs ,yoga
HAHAHAHA!!! '...but you never stop whinging.' HAHAHAHAHA!!! The total lack of self awareness you Eddie Hearn panty sniffers exhibit should be a case study!!!
It's not about disagreeing it's about pointing out how stupid one is which Holyfield is doing here because he's saying Fury was knocked out when we can all see see he had his eyes open talking to the referee to be sure what the count was.
Is that someone who's knocked out does ?
It doesn't matter who it is they're an idiot to make that claim that a referee usually waves it off this guy must be forgot some fights he was in that actually could have been waved off that he won ? Lol
He's merely trying to justify his pick again and with a fellow Alabama resident! Nothing but killing his own credibility like Lewis no matter who they think is the best .Holyfields justification of putting Wilder at number 1 is a K.O which never happened.
Anyone who actually knows boxing knows it's Joshua, the very least Fury!
Thank you for my proving my point.
Lol all these guys trying to call AJ names would be too big of a coward to say it to the man's face. Stay hating, bunch of cry baby b*tches.
Hahaha! Lol this guy trying to talk tough online would be too big of a coward to call anyone a cry baby ***** to their face. Keep projecting Matchroom **** boy, and don't forget to say 'Ah' when Eddie shoves AJ versus the Booby Snatcher III up your ass.
Spike is a terrible boxer who made a name for himself by growing a mustache. He's neither interesting in the ring nor out. The way Lemieux dispatched of him after Spike made an embarrassing attempt to come across like an Irish gangster in the build up to the fight was especially satisfying.
Any none noob knows a Unification takes precedence over mandatory with the orgs.
Funny, this was the argument others were making when AJ ducked the $50 million offer and fought Povetkin instead. I'm sure you were one of them right?
I'll never understand guys that would prefer to talk bad about someone instead of fighting them.
Says the guy calling a former world champion fighter a 'twerp' in the comment section of a boxing website. You sound pathetic bruh
AJ vs Povetkin made AT LEAST $28,500,000 in ppv buys
Fury vs Wilder made LESS THAN $22,500,000
The tickets to Wilder vs Fury weren't outrageous but cost a little more than AJ vs povetkin on average
BUT AJ vs Povetkin sold 80,000 tickets compared to 17,000 for Fury vs Wilder
And AJ was getting like 80% of the take
it's simple maths mate
The Wilder-Fury fight had 300,000 PPV buys at $80. That's $24,000,000 alone in the US. It's estimated they did another 700,000 buys in the UK. Plus the live gate, of which tickets were not slightly but significantly higher in price than the AJ fight. It's simple math mate!
What's this shhhit you posted here??
A contract was presented him and he chickened out to hunt a rehab patient without a belt.
There is nothing the champ can do about that.
It takes two to tangle.
Sorry for the broken link, but here's the money quote from the piece I was trying to link to:
“Wilder can come to the fight against Povetkin, sure he can, but he also wanted to get in the ring,” Joshua said via givemesport. “But I said, ‘You ain’t getting in the ring unless you sign the contract to fight me. You’re not going to make your name out of this, just sign the contract,’” Joshua said.
I know, I know, the contract! The contract with no date or venue, although Wilder had made it clear that he'd agreed to the flat rate on the condition the fight took place in September. How convenient! Hahaha! Keep slurping that dildo!
If Fury and Wilder is off the table right now, I want AJ to fight Pulev so when Fury and or Wilder are available Eddie doesn't just throw his hands up and go "Oops, IBF Mandatory!"
Good call. And Whyte should fight Ortiz.
My favorite AJ quote: 'If the Dillian Whyte fight gets made, I don’t want to hear any boos.'
Hahahaha! What a whiney, emotional dude! That's the way to sell the fight, admonish the fans for not cheering on you and Barry's 8 year plan. Matchroom overplayed their hand, now they're reaping what they sowed. So funny to watch!
The whole promotion of the Mayweather-McGregor fight gave a perfect illustration of where Floyd's priorities lie. He had an enormous audience, one ready to be spoon fed buckets of promotional slop about TMT fighters. What did Floyd do? Spent the entire time on promoting...himself. I don't think he mentioned Tank's name one time. Him and Oscar will bbth be out of the promotional game within five years once the money's gone and their names alone can no longer bring in any more big time backers. I hope the Mayweathers are able to keep the gym open, that does seem to be a positive that arose from Floyd donning the promotional hat.
See, if that is your expectation then I'm afraid you will be disappointed. Hearn isn't going anywhere as long as he continues to get the best Team GB amateurs and has the ultimate cash cow in Anthony Joshua. Haymon doesn't have many UK fighters and to me this is more so getting his US cards picked up by a UK broadcaster...Or at least for now that is the plan. And then he probably hopes to attract some of the 2020 amateurs while signing other fighters to have a big enough stable to put on four-six UK shows a year.
You make a great point man. AJ's trainer, Rob McCracken, also happens to be the head trainer of GB's Olympic boxing team. I've heard he has some type of arrangement directly with the Hearns/Matchroom as well, which helped them land AJ in the first place as he was the trainer back in 2012 also.
