It's funny that when Floyd "uses his legs" people say running but when B-hop does it it's OK!
I like Bernard's style because he moves and then he'll lunge in and play rough on the inside. Floyd never mixes it up. He throws potshots and runs away.
Jones is washed up, but some of you make it sound like he's retarted or something. He was afraid to get hit against Tarver in the 3rd fight. I'd like to see how he would do fighting Bernard fearless and putting his legacy on the line just like Bernard did. If Jones still has a good chin then I don't believe he will get KTFO.
If you saw Jones's last three fights, why would you think he still has a good chin? With his diminished skills, he's only going to get hurt. He needs to hang it up.
I don't want to see Roy Jones Jr. suffer any more damage in the ring. The two knockouts were awful and he barely survived the last fight with Tarver. The only good matchup for Hopkins would be Calzaghe. But that looks like a bigger risk for less glory. I think he'll hang up the gloves for good.
This list is garbage. Joe Louis was the most dominant heavyweight in the history of the sport! No way would I put him at #2! Tyson dominated his era for a longer period than many of the guys in the top 10 of this list. He belongs in the top 10. The overall order of this list really seems random.
Liston wouldn't have been able to handle Frank Bruno. Over the decades, boxing has evolved. The hard chins and heavy hands of classic champions have been replaced with ring savvy and technical perfection. Not only that, I find Listons classic fights to be very unimpressive. Tyson was an example of deadly perfection in power punching. I can't imagine Liston surviving the first round.
I agree with the article. Hopkins was robbed twice. Taylor's swollen eye and bloody nose are souvenirs of his spanking by the master. The judges should be forced to watch the fight through monitors and watch slow motion replays so they can see that the most impressive combos thrown by Taylor didn't even make contact. Hopkins set the pace and fought more agressively. He wasn't beat by Taylor. He was beat by the judges.
