That includes leaning, pushing and all other pathetic grappling 'techniques' Wlad employs against every opponent for the last years. Somebody once counted the amount of times Klitschko did this against Povetkin and it was about 12.25 per round and that was in the first half of the fight. That takes away about 10 seconds of the round per clinch, so that leaves barely a minute of real boxing left. Good luck Jennings, LOL.

There's no doubt that he will get hit hard by kovalov, win or lose. I have not seen that many of his fights however and so I wonder about his durability. How good is his chin and has he ever been knocked down?

So he has the WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO belts. If somebody beats him does he get all 4 belts or do they disgracefully partition the belts? What about if he retires as a champion and they put his championship up for grabs between the next 2 top contenders? He worked so hard to unify the titles and I doubt anybody would want to see 4-5 pseudo champions like in the 00s. Just wondering how this would go down.

All this talk about Martinez being past his prime with no mention of Cotto's past is silly. EVerybody seems to want to forget about a year and a half ago when everybody thought Cotto was finished after Trout beat him? The man has taken an incredible amount of punishment in his career. Torres, Margarito especially, Pacquiao etc. These were brutal fights that usually end a fighter's career, and he has taken many shots in many other fights too. And if he had moved up in weight earlier etc. The possibilities are endless and so are the excuses of Martinez fans.

What is it with this guy and his trash talk? I have not followed his career that much because of a lack of big and intriguing fights, but for Chavez jr. and now Cotto he's constantly mouthing off to the media. It doesn't come off very well for him and if he loses against Cotto he is going to look like an absolute clown after all the "I will retire him!" "He won't last many rounds!" talk.

How dare the haters complain about Mayweather being dirty yet Maidana tried to knee Floyd in the clinch, scored a double leg takedown that nearly landed floyd out of the ring. And when he wasn't busy with his MMA moves he was rabbit punching and intentionally throwing low blows out of frustration. Maidana is the dirtiest fighter in the sport of Boxing today. So yes, the ref was very bad last night because he did not deduct atleast 2 points from Maidana.

To think that this somehow negatively affects Floyd's legacy is silly. Name me one ATG that did not have atleast one close fight that has people saying the other guy won? Heck, Ali actually had a handfull of those and he's known as the greatest. Lets also not forget that Mayweather is 37 and not in his prime anymore. What will do Mayweather good is that he rematches the toughest opponents and then beats them more clearly(Castillo and now likely Maidana as well) than the first time.

After enough time passes people will smarten up and see the fight for what it was, a competitive, close fight with a clear winner: Mayweather. Just like against Cotto who imo made it a much tougher and closer fight. The only ones that will continue to complain about this fight are the die-hard basement dwelling haters. That's all.

If one of these refs who hates clinching was the ref in a fight like yesterday, he would warn Wlad repeatedly and start taking points. If it got to the point of threat of disqualification how would Wlad react? I can't even imagine him not being able to make use of his holding tactics.

This was brought up briefly in another thread. So Floyd does his best to take most of the steam out of the punches that hit or graze his arms, elbows, shoulders by movement but it also looks like he gets hit pretty hard there at times and that can't feel too good when it's a world class puncher. For a guy who uses the shoulder roll so consistently for 12 rounds has he gotten injured due to this or atleast felt very sore afterwards on those areas? Would be interesting to see him talk about this in an interview as well.

Despite the crappy showing against Pacquiao I think he's a waste of talent. He had one more fight in 2011 and has since disapeared. Anybody have any recent info on him?

I believe it to be Tyson(reportedly 300 million, most of it squandered as we know) but if anybody else has good estimations for Floyd or La Hoya let us know. It's interesting.

He has so much skills, fight IQ and hasn't taken any punishment, always took care of his body etc. Can he still be at the top of his game when he's pushing 40 or even beyond that? Or does Floyd rely too much on his physical attributes as well, which means he would start losing in a few years?

He hasn't fought in a year and a half and still no fights lined up. What is going on? I want to see him fight Ward one day.

sorry but i had to do it. I was so entertained that day. of cource the fight itself which was the best i've seen till this day and then lewis' hilarious interview and then this which was even better haha.

And now everybody is urging him to retire so he won't get damaged for life. Crazy how fast time goes. It really was like yesterday when there were all those hyped threads with people claiming Williams would spank Mayweather, Pac etc.

For the last few years people have been speculating that all the drama that happens outside the ring for Manny like his political career would catch up to him. But it seems it never makes him lose focus in the ring. And he is also the 'happiest fighter' I've seen. Every other guy comes in with a pokerface, extremely focus. Yet here you have this little Pinoy smiling, jogging around looking happy but still doing the job and beating up his opponents with no mercy. Bravo I must say.
