Well, at least the WSB can't say that the Domadores didn't shoot the Azeris a fair one! The Domadores used their "B Team" like the Kazakhs did last week, and still won the bout.
That guy, Maceo, made his debut at super-heavyweight at the age of thirty! Where do they get these guys from? lol
LOL! You would know better than I would! At least that Arisnoidys Despaigne guy (who's 32 I believe) knocks people out with good technique! I swear... Some of these guys would do better in a free market where they can make their own income. Especially guys like Roniel Iglesias and Julio Cesar la Cruz.
They probably got Roniel fighting only under the conditions that he only fights in Cuba (so he doesn't defect). And as far as Robeisy Ramirez goes... Something in my gut tells me that he wants to take his boxing career in a "different direction." Well fuck it. He ain't gettin no younger.
Who cares...as of 2014, the only channel this guy should be boxing on is Nickelodeon...right after an episode of Sponge Bob.
He can kill the ratings on that network, instead of being a channel changer on a network I pay my hard earn dollars for.
Hopefully Arum releases him and he can return home to fight in front of Fidel, El Presidente for Life!!!!
Calm down Rachel.
Yeah. Lomachenko was kicking Salido's ass in the last rounds of the fight. But he should've known that Salido doesn't stop. How many times did Salido get dropped by Yuriorkis Gamboa (who's a little bull), only to come back, and get his shot in? When he had Salido cringing in the last round, I was thinking that Loma had some pop, he just used it too late.
All of the things that Salido did to win was classic "professional" shit. He didn't bother to cut weight... He lowblowed... He tried to use his head a lot... There isn't a fighter right now on the P4P list that doesn't get his hands a little dirty! Floyd likes to use his elbows. Andre likes to use his head (in headbutting). Even Rigondeaux having similar amateur credentials fights underhanded a lil bit (he LOVES pulling the head). Loma has to learn these things. And a pro trainer would fit him in that mold to prepare for thing like that.
I hate to say it too, but yep... Freddie Roach would be a good fit for him. He's doing a pretty decent job with Powerpuff Shiming, so he can probably do the same with Lomachenko.
I'll admit I didn't watch this video (at work) but I remember seeing a video of her going on long ass rant in her car a while back about the business of woman's boxing. She almost begging to be on money may PPV. Came off as weird & fvcking crazy.
That wasn't Ava Knight. That was Kaliesha West (a good friend of Ava's). This chick:

...and?
What's wrong with Ava Knight being on an undercard on a Mayweather fight? Ava is one of the top ranked female boxers in the world, and she's the highest ranking out of the U.S.
Somebody lied to you all. If I was going to bet, I would have bet on the Seattle Seahawks. I'm the best defensive fighter, it's only right to go with the best defensive team. - Floyd Mayweather on Instagram
We all know about Robert gettin' that work from Casamayor, but you know that he's probably still salty from another Cuban dismantling his Filipino tink-tink.
This is a joke that he won fighter of the year...his fight last December was the worst fight of the year.
Not only should he be banned, but he should be punished. As least fighters like Money and Son of God try to change in the ring when they hear the boo birds, this fool (El Chacel) think that he's owed a 6 figure pay day for bringing in the lowest ratings in HBO for 2013 and causing paying customers to leave the arena in disgust.
He is a great boxer (probably p4p 10) but at this level if you want "CASUAL FANS" to take you seriously and a premium cable network to air you....YOU MUST ENTERTAIN!!!
Right now, El Chacel is unwatchable and must be banned from visual consumption until he realizes that our vision is precious and our entertainment value IS A MUST!!!
Hardcore fans like his fights is not enough for HBO and I don't blame them, this is a business.
Rachel Donaire, IS THAT YOU?
Diaz trains Drozd?
Also how much does Solis weigh? Is the TT fight still on?
Best trainer in the sport.
Solis looks in better shape than usual, that is good news for the HW scene.
Pedro told him if he didn't get his act together he wouldn't train him and he should retire, looks likes he taken notice.
Hopefully, Solis gets his act together... He could've been the saving grace of the heavyweight division a while back, and he slipped up. Believe it or not, I wouldn't mind him going up against Mike Perez. Steve Kim implied on Twitter that Mike Perez doesn't care too much for the boxing styles of Rigondeaux and Lara despite the fact that they're compatriots.
LMAO @ all of these dudes that are sayin that Michelle Rodriguez ain't cute. Maybe so, but if she offered ya'll some a$$, any man with ANY heterosexual bone in his body wouldn't say no!
Like people have said before, boxing promoters shouldn't keep promises to fighters that they can't keep. This all goes back to that Nonito Donaire shit... Rigo was intentionally supposed to be used as a platform for Nonito's climb to fame (no fighter in the top 5 lb. for lb. has defeated a 2x Olympic gold medalist), but that plan backfired on Top Rank and HBO. Now Nonito is questioning his own place in boxing (he's flirted with the idea of retirement, and he looked like trash in his last fight), and HBO is left with a boxer that they don't want to promote. I don't TOTALLY buy that bullshit that Rigo is "un-promotable." They just don't want to promote a boxer that doesn't smile, isn't pretty, and he ethnically un-represented by Cuban-Americans (in large numbers). He's a hard sell, but nothing is impossible. Just don't say the man is going to be paid "x" amount of dollars when you know he's not a "hot selling" item.
And as far as the Erislandy Lara comparisons over there @ Golden Boy... Think about this. Did GB and Showtime ever threaten to pull Lara off their networks? Did Showtime openly disrespect Lara? Is Lara consistently still getting fights? Lara isn't getting the "cinnamon" plate he wants, but he's still eating! HBO is telling Rigo that they can't even eat off his table! So yeah... Rigo should look at going to Showtime and GB. They make not like him, but they'll respect him.

It was mentioned yesterday:

Easily. Ramirez is one of the few Cubans that can be turned into a real star. He has all the ingredients...if he leaves Cuba soon. Robeisy's young, charismatic, always smiling, good looking, big enough to fight at 135 or higher and, most importantly, kicks ass.
Forgot about that...but he's listed on the WSB website as being on the Cuban team.
You sure? He's listed as fighting next Friday on the 17th in Havana. But so is Julio Cesar la Cruz...
By the way... That boxing crowd in Havana is LOUD... I checked out that fight that the Cuba Domadores had against the Russian team, and the Cuban crowd was turnt up! I signed up for that subscription. It's free until the 15th of March.
Bad upset. The scoring for this tourney makes those more likely. That BS Olympic scoring won't always translate well to WSB scoring. Guys like Ramirez (Olympic champion), whose style is very aggressive anyway, will be okay.
I can't wait for next week, either. It's too bad Havana will be the site of that match-up. It's a mismatch. I would've far preferred Ukraine-Cuba in Havana. That's gonna be a scorcher.
when is that domadores vs guerreros match up
Next Friday on the 17th. I believe it's at 8:30 PM EST.
Tough start for Mexico thus far. I haven't saw any of their fights yet besides the preseason one versus Cuba.... Mexico is facing the Russian team later today, I believe
They've already fought. The Guerreros got washed out by Russia.
Julio Cesar La Cruz is world-class talented, as an amateur or pro. He'll be a world champ if he manages to leave Cuba. At least two more superbly talented Cubans will be fighting in the WSB tomorrow versus Azerbaijan: Yasnier Toledo and Robeisy Ramirez. Erislandy Savon will be on the card, too. He doesn't look bad either.
There are probably at least four or five Cubans on the "Domadores" team that I can easily see becoming professional world champions someday. Roniel Iglesias is another name, although he's not on for tomorrow.
Hopefully, Toledo and Ramirez got their issues sorted out so they can get paid. But I swear... If a boxer like Robeisy Ramirez was to come to the U.S., he would surpass Joel Casamayor as being the highest grossing Cuban boxer in the U.S. Savon got shafted last year at the world championship in Almaty, Kazakhstan:
how did Roniel Iglesias get back on the team? I thought he was supposed to be banned for a year for "indiscipline?"
