Haha. I got an interesting thread idea BTW, gonna create it now...you should post  It's basically 'fantasy amateur fighting' and i'm gonna ask people to post their fantasy boxing teams, could include current top amateurs or former standout ones or those that are now successful pros/world champs. I think it's an interesting concept, i want it to be similar to WSB, teams of 5. I'll make it now, keep a look out soon.
I'll drop in.
That Cuban guy Veita Yosbany; Im i the only one who he reminds of the lighter version of Floyd? he just slips everything and can get pretty scrappy at times.
Not a bad comparison. Veitia looked great. I forgot that I'd seen him once before. I won't forget him again.
I'm not sure if the Cubans got hit more with punches or with forearms and heads that 3rd bout lost was legit tho that 4th bout was bull but the Cuban guy didn't look sensational but the other guy yet again made it dirty and uncomfortable XD But that is the best tactic make it ugly but that last dude went overboard on the last fight he was using the head thrusting it as if it was legal.
Stop...you're making me nervous. lol I think you're right; it's going to come down to who's better on the night. One of my favorites, Toledo, lost today. I felt he just wasn't in it, for some reason .

Same to you, I wish the Cuban team luck throughout the knockout rounds, great boxers. :boxing: BTW, the Astana Arlans really can't be ruled out, they pushed the Cuban team close and were actually only the second team in WSB history to win bouts v the Cubans! I think it's fair to say this is gonna be a real tight, tough process to win between Cuba, Ukraine and Kazakhstan. It's interesting as all of the teams have fighters that can win against each other, so it's hard to predict. Going to be down to how the boxers perform on the night and also team selection.
I'm pleased with Ukraine though, today they used some young guns and still got the comfortable wins...the guy that lost is 18 and the main 'first pick' is 9-0 in WSB

he's nowadays one of the top boys of the cuban national boxing federation although i forget his exact title. might actually be president of it or something. seen him at a couple of tournaments in havana, big powerful looking guy, still in great shape
He's gotta be a monster...6'6", solid muscle. Just a naturally big, natural athlete.
Nice. Keep winning. I'd love to meet you guys in the finals.

Triple Olympic gold medallist Felix Savon.

Same here. Got the earlier matches just fine, but nada on Ukraine - Algeria.
Has anyone got this stream working - is it an issue with the site?
On the TV schedule page it doesn't have it listed at all.
I dunno what's going on at the moment, today my internet has been so slow and youtube vids arent working, thats for one, now I'm trying to get this account sorted on WSB but the link is dead when I try to get the subscription it's just stuck on the 'subscription' selection page... :banghead: Annoying!
Edit - OK, now it's working, but the match is no longer being featured as it was on the homepage before I signed up...very strange, i'm not sure what's going on with this...
I'm not seeing the Ukrainian fight come up.

Yeah, it would be good to see but still we can't count out the Astana Arlans of Kazakhstan, at the moment it's just the preliminary group phase but once the actual knockout section begins it's interesting...If I remember Ukraine weren't even in the top 2 during the regular season last year but once they got into the knockout phase began beating everyone.
You're right. Maybe I spoke too soon. Cuba and Ukraine appear to me to be the best teams, but the Kazakhs cannot be slept on.
Looking forward to Cuba-Ukraine, for all the marbles. It looks pretty clear by now that they're the two best teams.

I'm confused, on the website it says starts 18.05 and it said that it's live now, live scoring available but must be some sort of delay...
Bad upset. The scoring for this tourney makes those more likely. That BS Olympic scoring won't always translate well to WSB scoring. Guys like Ramirez (Olympic champion), whose style is very aggressive anyway, will be okay.
I can't wait for next week, either. It's too bad Havana will be the site of that match-up. It's a mismatch. I would've far preferred Ukraine-Cuba in Havana. That's gonna be a scorcher.
when is that domadores vs guerreros match up
Next Friday on the 17th. I believe it's at 8:30 PM EST.
Really anticipating the fight next week in Havana against the Mexican Guerreros. I just wanna take a look at that crowd! Poor Guerreros... They've had an awful season this season. Not as awful as the Polish tho. And did ya'll hear about that French African kid that boxed for the USA Knockouts that defeated a bronze medalist from Italy!? And to make it worse... IT WAS HIS FIRST FIGHT! lol.
