Cotto appears beatable because he appears, and is,
easy to hit. That will be his downfall. I'm gonna go out
on a limb here and say Quintana is the guy that will do
it!
Quintana by KO in 7 in a "shocking upset"!
In Morales-Pacquiao III you have 2 fighters headed in opposite directions.
PacMan is nearing the top; we still may have not seen his very best; while
Morales is headed down the other side of the great mountain. He is not
done yet so it will be competitive while it lasts, but Morales can no longer
maintain the pace Pac will set. Pacquiao by KO in 10 in another brutal beat
down of "El Terrible".
In my humble opinion, as a boxing fan for some 33 years, I think Cotto is
already a "superstar" of sorts in that he's a media creation at this point.
But, does he have what it takes to legitimize himself as a superstar? I don't
think so, and here's why: Cotto, as someone else pointed out, is a bit of a
plodder, and in my opinion, too easy to hit. He would be well served to learn
how to give his opponents angles instead of coming straight in. It will cost
him some night. Will it be against Zab Judah? I doubt it. Against Antonio Margarito? I doubt that fight will come off because I don't see Margo making
it past Paul Williams. Cotto at times reminds me of Mike Tyson in the way he
comes at opponents. Not the Mike Tyson of the 80's, but the Tyson of the
90's, post Buster Douglas. Gone was the bobbing, weaving, and angles to his
approach. He came straight in. He did that against Douglas and it cost him,
and Cotto, like Tyson, will find his Buster Douglas as well. When it happens
the boxing world will be stunned because like Douglas vs Tyson it will be
a huge upset! Cotto is apparently stepping up in competition, and that may
lead to his demise. Mark my words.... when he loses it will be by knockout
and it will be after being dominated.
I have a great match-up: If Cotto doesn't fight Margarito, how about
Cotto vs Sugar Shane Mosley? What a fight!!
There is NO WAYOscar DeLaHoya
"took a dive" against Bernard Hopkins! If there is One Thing Oscar has proven in his career it is his immense pride and
fighting heart! No Way He Took A Dive!
:boxing: :boxing:
I'll go out on a limb and pick Peter by KO in 10!
I just get the feeling Toney will come in and grow old
in front of our eyes. He'll still be tough but will take a
beating, finally succumbing in the 10th.
Sugar delivers his SWEETEST victory!! My pick for this fight was wrong and I couldn't be happier! Mosley put on a brilliant performance; his career best in my opinion. As to the question of it being for the Ring belt.... The Ring decided NOT to name the winner the Ring's Welterweight Champion. Mistake on their part! This was definitely the matchup of the world's 2 best welterweights and Sugar Shane should now be recognized as The Man in the welterweight division. How sweet it was!
