Maskaev says he wants Vitali... Vitali has said nothing about Maskaev. What's the big deal? Vitali's not going to give this never-was-no-name bum a shot.
Lewis would be best to just stay retired, which he will. He already heas plenty of money... so why should he come back? If he lost, which he knows he would, it would just tarnish an otherwise great legacy.
This fight could be closer than everyone thinks. I think Gatti will be the much bigger man (outweighing him by anywhere between 10 and 15 lbs) when they come into the ring. He will have the strength to apply the kind of pressure that Castillo did. Also, recall that Mayweather has those fragile hands. What is going to happen if, after dominating Gatti for 4-5 rounds with his uncanny speed, he hurts his hands again. How does he keep Gatti off of him for another 7-8 rounds?
I think you have to favor Mayweather, but things could get very interesting down the stretch.
Whatever happens... I jsut want a great fight. I'm pretty fuckin psyched for this, it would suck to see a track meet.
Vitali will look really bad, even to many of his fans, if the winner of Rahman/Barrett is available and Vitali fights somebody else.
Agreed, I feel those 2 are actually the 2 with the best chance of beating him, maybe Brewster. I mean I'd pick him over any of em, but they got the best shot... no doubt about that.
I'm shocked 250,000 actually bought that card.
If I didn't get to see it for free, no way in hell would I pay for it.
What up KNOX! Anyway, I got the PPV for free... so I wasn't as pissed as I would have been had I payed.
Tyson would not sell 250,000 ppv's again... EVER. It's over for mike, he robbed 20,000 people in attendance and 250,000 ppv buyers of a proper ending to a fight because he didn't want to take his beating.
I think that brittle hands is bullshit, he landed some hard shots on Corley with no problem and really havent had much problems in my recent memory.
Yea, it's been a few fights since I've heard him talk about his hands.
Gatti's size advantage is overrated in this matchup.
We're talking about a guy who spars with nothing but bigger guys. All he spars with is middleweights.
If you look at their measurements... Gatti really isn't much bigger... in some cases smaller.
If anything Toney is the LEAST credible fight for Vitali to take aside from Maskaev. Toney is physicaly incapable of beating Vitali... it would just be way too much for him.
I think he should fight Rahman/Barret winner next, the winner of that prolly has the best chance of beating him... though he would most likely clown either of em.
Charles and Moore are ahead of Spinks.
Those picking Spinks for the top spot are just trying to hype Spinks up in an attempt to overrate Mike Tyson's 'prime'.
I'm not trying to imply anything about Tyson, but I think Spinks was the best ever.
ESPN actually had a bunch of scientists do a study on what was the physicaly hardest sport to do. Boxing was at the top of the list. I'll take their word for it, the rest of you can argue amongst yourselves.
