We have a heavyweight with the highest ko percentage in history retiring undefeated and undisputed in the most prestigious division in boxing.
Do you think he'd be a first ballot HOFer?
Too early to say. You always need a bit of longevity with some standout wins, preferably against a variety of styles. I would classify Joshua, Wilder, and Parker as good fighters but I'm not sure if I see an outstanding one between the 3.
Let me just say though that there is very little chance of this happening. Joshua is a 50/50 fight, and Fury/Parker for stylistic reasons are a complete nightmare for Wilder.
Parker is a guy with solid whiskers, and he can box a bit, he is faster and a better boxer than some of the guys that Wilder was outboxed by, I give Parker a good shot at pulling off the upset in that one.
LOL nope, not even close. It's the general opinion that Wlad fought in one of the weakest eras of HWs (opinion, not fact, but a popular opinion nonetheless), so if a 41 year old Wlad, after a year and a half out of the ring dropped AJ and almost got him out of there, what does that make of the current HWs?
Let's be real, Parker would NEVER have gotten a belt if not for Fury leaving the sport - and Wilder hasn't fought anyone of note, certainly not Wlad all these years.
Not to mention the geriatric Ortiz gave Wilder trouble.
Either Wlad is an ATG HW or the current crop are chithouse - pick one
Let's compare 5 HOF HW's early in their careers, to AJ.
Mike Tyson. Muhammad Ali. Joe Louis. Evander Holyfield (elected). Lennox Lewis.
-Tyson, 5 years pro, stopped by journeyman Douglas.
-Lewis , 5 years pro, stopped by journeyman McCall
-Ali, 3 years pro, dropped HARD by 188lb journeyman Cooper
-Holyfield, 2 years pro, close split decision win over 5'5 Qawi
-Louis, 5 years pro, dropped by obese 5'9 journeyman Galento
-AJ, 3 years pro, dropped by 6'6 240lb (best shape since about '09), Klitschko
Out of all these it's clear as day, AJ getting dropped by a 30 year veteran like Wlad isn't nearly as bad as any of these. Even Ortiz has dominated all his opponents.

The down side is that most of the up and coming heavys are from the UK...such as Duboius and Joyce...so he is eventually going to fall to a brit stoppage at some point even if its not Joshua.
Maybe, but probably not first ballot.
Parker and Joshua aren't (yet) great fighters themselves.
Maybe with hindsight Parker and Joshua will be seen as great fighters when they retire, after having racked up more wins and beaten some more credible opponents. If that turns out to be the case and Wilder beats them both, then yeah he has a shout.
and what has Joshua done besides beating an ancient Wlad?
both Wilder and AJ still have a lot to prove before entering the HOF
people will mention Gatti, but the guy entered out of sympathy because of his tragic death along with his popularity
unless they die some untimely, tragic deaths, both are still far from the HOF
Though it looks like that now, you have to account for changing perspectives. Though that sounds impressive now, people will say AJ was overrated and never truly tested.
Probably, but the HOF doesn't mean much anymore
He definitely won't be an ATG even if he beats Joshua. This is because neither of them have a decent record, and the division is at the lowest point probably ever.
I think wilder Is capable of doing that.by just his power and athleticism alone.if he does I would put him above Lennox Lewis.
And here is one of those absurd people now.
Wilder could beat another 10 good fighters and still not match Lennox for resume. What you're saying is beyond the pale of stupid.
I don't think he is very good. Still the heavyweights are so important that I voted yes. Even though I din't think much of him, an undefeated heavyweight champ who KOed everyone he ever fought is sure as hell going to the Hall of Fame on the first ballot.
