Or was it just me? I watched an HBO stream and I almost had to switch it off because the dickriding was getting too much.
Firstly of Cotto beating a weight drained version of Golovkin's leftovers. Well actually Darren Barker beat him before both these guys and he had the hips of an 80 year old man. Geale is sh1t. Don't give me this "former champion" nonsense. He is a distinctly average fighter. But then it was the constant praise for Roach that really got to me.
Did Cotto get some kind of extra payment from HBO for verbally sucking off Roach in his post fight interview? He kept banging on about how Roach was "the best thing to ever happen to him" (how must his wife and kids have felt?) and even snuck in an extra line at the end "Dis all for Freddie".
Were HBO trying to make people forget about Pacquiao's horrible performance against Mayweather which was orchestrated by Roach?

I was watching the international stream on Boxnation and it was literally one guy commentating the whole card. It was pathetic. I watched the HBO stream afterwards though. They do go a bit heavy on the praising Roach thing sometimes but he does seem to have done some good work with Cotto. Maybe I just didn't mind as much because in comparison with Boxnation it was nice to hear more than one voice over the fight.
And Cotto said that Roach was the best thing to happen to his career, not to him so there's no need to worry too much about his wife and his kids.
you know how white people have the token black friend they use in certain situation to get brownie points, roach is HBO token down symdrome charity case they use for those exact same brownie points.
You seem like a lovely guy.
Calling a Floyd fight an 'artistic masterpiece' is like comparing Chris Brown's graffiti wall art to the Sistine Chapel. You see one example and you've seen them all.
Why are you posting in my thread after you threw your toys out of the pram and put me on ignore? :lol1:
They kept calling May vs Pacq a dud. IT WAS NOT A DUD. ALL MAYWEATHER FIGHTS ARE TECHNICAL ARTISTIC MASTERPIECES.

To be honest, Cotto was doing a great job of it himself
I highlighted the part I wanted to address. Geale is not as bad you're making him out to be. He is a solid fighter. That's all.
He's very very average. He lost to Darren Barker.
What does this have to do with the thread?

Lol you're grasping at straws bro.
I think I'm hitting the nail right on the head actually. Mayweather made Roach's main charge look like an amateur and HBO were doing their best to remind us what a great trainer he is with his "resurgence" of Cotto which has come against carefully selected or injured opposition.
Another undeserved "Trainer of the Year" award on its way.
So, what about Barker losing to Geale's leftover in Sturm?
Unfortunate circumstance, but that is besides the point.
Styles make fights.
Geale went to Germany twice to beat the hometown fighter and become unified champ. What Barker did in America, Geale did it twice and that too in Germany, which is harder. I'd still say he belongs to the same bracket as Barker, hence it was so competitive.
Although I don't respect him for his showing against GGG.
It was essentially a Battle of Quitters.

Or HBO wants us to forget that Roach did nothing in the corner to change things in "The Fight of the Century"

It's one of two reasons, either Roach literally is a savior to Cotto, and Cotto views him as the man whose changed his boxing career around OR....Roach is about to retire and his health is severely declining..

LOL I noticed this corney sht! Roach is a little narcisisstic coward :lol1: that snotty grin he had after the fight.
But I disagree with the performance by Pac, upon further analysis I scored it a draw.
But Roach just loves being the center of attention it's really cringey.

They tried very hard to fellate him. They called May Pacq an unexpected dud. It was an unexpected dud for casuals and pacqtards. It was expected by everyone else.
