and kovalev was smiling and pointing to pascal when he stumbled going to that corner
That was funny. He's was looking at his corner like "Haha, look at him dance."
.......I didn't see Pascal stumble to the corner on his own, good job Pabon.
Props to both guys
I noticed that too, but I thought people were concentrating on him not going down before the stoppage.
Pascal was DONE. This was a bad stoppage for the fans and a great one for Pascal. That was still a good performance by Pascal. A fight against Stevenson would still be huge. Kovalev is just a special fighter.
Id actually like to see Pascal fight Stevenson next and Kovalev fight a Froch or Ward. Kovalev is the best Light Heavy I've seen since Jones. A truly great fighter. The way he is able to adjust and measure his opponent is something only greats can do.
He was out on his feet...Kovalev pointed to him twice to the referee indicating so. Both those punches were pretty brutal and he was just going to keep teeing off on him. Good stoppage. I expected Pascal not to last longer than 6...I was off by 1.
I wondered what the heck was Kovalev pointing to.

I totally understand him doing that. Pascal looked like something from a Bugs Bunny cartoon or something, bouncing along the ropes like that. I almost expected him to hit the ropes and bounce back across the ring again with a top hat and cane!

Yup saw that, Kovalev has a mean streak in him man. That dude is straight up ruthless in the ring. Scary guy.
Exactly, I think thats why people questioned it at first. Everyones eyes were on Kovalev and they didnt see Pascal stumble accross the ring. I saw it initially and so did the ref. He knew it was over.
