And orlando salido which got turned into a No contest because he was on steroids
Apart from Mayweather he'd beaten every man he ever faced, he lost one but knocked the same guy out in the rematch
2 Weight world champ
Pretty underrated if u ask me
Thoughts?
Ghost should have went to 140....before he went to 147 I think Ghost is a good fighter but I dont see him beating top 147 fighters....And I gat Thurman winning a close tough fight
Dude he's gonna get beaten pretty badly
Did you see his last fight?
He was being told by his father to box and he doesn't have the physical capabilities to move around and do that anymore
He's gonna get knocked out by Thurman fighting him in the pocket
I think he was just rusty from being on the sideline that long. The Guerrero in that fight was horrible.
So Robert saw the Bundu fight, and saw something that made him think he can beat Thurman. Many people are feeling Thurman might be a bum, after that Bundu performance.
I disagree with the majority I think Guerrero is very good fighter, I just never understood why there was such a rush to move up to 147. He beat the hell out of Katsidis at 135 and looked great doing it, he should have stayed there or if the weight was a problem then move to 140 for a while, but all of a sudden he just decided he was a welterweight. He is also a good fighter at 147 but hasn't carried the weight brilliantly so is not the same fighter, his chin, workrate, and the fact that he still has good pop have made him competitive but his movement is poor and he is much slower at this weight. He did end up landing Mayweather, so financially it was a good move but ultimately I don't think it helped his legacy at all.
In terms of Thurman - I think it's a jump in class for him and a dangerous fight, especially if Thurman has a shaky chin. Guerrero is not going to get blown away and he has heavy hands. If Thurman uses movement he can make it an easy fight, it's difficult to know how Thurman will approach the fight, he has to nullify Guerrero's workrate. Can he do this by boxing? Is he good enough off the back foot? Another way is to use his power to hurt Guerrero and get his respect early or even get him out of there. It's an interesting fight.
IMO Guerrero is no way under-rated.
He is a decent fighter, but I think he is pushing 30 now and is past his peak.
Beating Berto was as good as it was ever going to get for the Ghost.
I was disappointed in him against Floyd, he looked like he knew he couldn't win the fight or even really challenge Floyd.
Finally, all that CrossFit BS won't help him either.
Robert is a bum.
Steroids or not (look up the tests, two samples, two different results, along with a follow-up test that was negative), Orlando Salido shut this clown out.
12-0
120-108
He got his ass kicked end of story. People just trying to bring up this clown just like they did for the mayweather fight.
I think the Thurman fight is evenish just because Thurman isn't very good IMO, not because Robert is some world-beater.
Salido is a damn good fighter, people use his record against him but they don't actually look at when he accumulated those losses

I dunno Jas, I can't strongly pick a winner in this fight
Guerrero has talent, I think his dad is just ****ing terrible in the corner.. he has the dude fighting "mexican style" lately, and for what... your kid has boxing skills..
Guerrero has a damn good chin, Keith can crack, but can Keith take a shot from a big 147 (IMO Guerrero is a welterweight)
I'm leaning towards Thurman but I dunno, something makes me think this fight is closer than people think
Robert is a bum.

Ya he has no significant wins and I've never seen him look impressive in victories. Well managed career.
he's probably overrated because he's never beaten anyone very good. yet some people talk about him like a guy that demolished through the divisions and was only stopped by floyd. i would say he tiptoed through the divisions(in his jordans) while cherry picking and was basically all hype. what can haymon do for you?
It's a smear campaign against all Mayweather opponents. Guerrero literally changed over night. When Floyd tweeted that Alexander was the favorite to land a Mayweather fight Guerrero became another ATG that Floyd was ducking. The minute the fight was announced he became Glass Joe.
Very clever marketing on the part of Mayweather's team (he's far too stupid to have thought of it himself.) By teasing the possibility of a stinker with Alexander, he created demanded for the other available option, even among those who saw the Guerrero matchup for the stinker it was. He did the same thing with Maidana and Khan, where he exploited one fighter's lack of popularity to help justify a matchup with an equally underwhelming (or even inferior ) matchup.
Mayweather twice presented us with the option between choosing between a giant douche and a turd sandwich, and the turd sandwich prevailed both times (three times if you count the highly anticipated Maidana rematch.)
he was everyones hope when he faced mayweather, there were guys on here swearing he was gonna stop floyd or make floyd quit on his stool.....he was the WBC interim Champ and ranked #3 Welterweight by Ring at the time, its just when floyd beats the guys who are held in high regard so easy, the same people talk down about them like they were nothing............But before they monsters. Floyd destroys what people think of fighters by showing his skill and people hate to give floyd credit. They say he paid the ref, judges, commentators, and even the fighters. They never want to admit he's a great one and even when he outclasses pac, they will have an excuse. it was his resume, then they found out that he fought more world champions than anyone in history, they shut up about that. Now its about the 8oz gloves that Maidana didnt wear during there first fight, but he let him wear them during the second fight and beat him worse....He wont lose until he comes outta retirement to face the then current champ.:poke:
Who ever thought that is an idiot.
I've never understood why some seem to hold him in such high regard. I started to get the impression that people wanted him to be the second coming of Antonio Margarito. Which is a tad ironic because for the level he was fighting at Tony's ring craft and skill set were nothing to write home about and that's being kind. He was a bad ass for sure but Guerrero doesn't even have that.
Where's the long list of good fighters he's beat? Oh yeah, there's nobody....I can't believe he got a Mayweather fight to this day..thank god for Andre Berto I guess, he made a bunch of people a lot more money then they deserved.
he was floyds mandatory i believe? I guess floyd figured he'd fight his mandatory at least once in an era where it doesnt seem to happen as often as it should. idk

Not everything is about Mayweather you weird, obsessed lunatic.
And considering you think Thurman is a bum, I'm guessing you're picking Guerrero to win?
Yeah I'm sure the outcry reached worldwide.... Nobody thought Guerrero had any chance and that's because he's not very good. Does he make for an action packed fight against the right opponent ?, sure....but Thurman is not that guy...he's gonna bust him up....
I never said Guerrero would beat Thurman. In fact I haven't even voiced my opinion yet. I'm just talking about the obvious double standard the posters on this website have.
