Chuck is too slow for floyd...LOL u have to be kiddin me
but i doubt floyd has enough power to hurt lidell
assumin were talkin a boxing match not a ufc fight
lmao
chuck liddel is not on Floyds level
Chuck is a standup fighter to, all the more easy for Mayweather to school him
Chuck is the equivalent of some guy you get in a tussle w/ at the bar
Liddell was a wrestler in college. He just doesn't use it against mma fighters unless its for ground defense. He probably wouldn't standup against mayweather. mayweather would be taken down and EASILY overpowered and either ground and pounded or submitted.
Read the thread title. Stay on topic...MMA rules.
Calling people names over the internet to make yourself feel better is a hollow tactic. Leave that to children.
That is a hallmark of the insecure.
Listen, this is the main section on a BOXING site, I have the right to mention boxing.
MMA shouldn't even be mentioned here anyways.
What part of "MMA rules" was particularly confusing for you?
How many times has somebody shot a single on Floyd? Do you think he knows how to defend that? What will Floyd do when he gets cradled?
Floyd couldn't beat Nick Diaz, a 170 lber in a MMA match. Please consider suspending your Superman fantasies for a moment, and think about the realities.
I was saying in a BOXING match, retard.
Floyd isn't an MMA fighter, there are no mma fighters that would touch floyd in a boxing match.
What "realities"? You do know FLOYD isn't fighting MMA now or ever, so there are no realities to consider.
BTW Floyd would KO Diaz in the first round in a BOXING match, because of course he is a boxer not a mixed martial artist.

I honestly never thought I'd see this day. I bow down with a new respect. :hail:
Wow, I can't believe Al Hamon said Floyd would tap out! If Chuck was smart he would take Floyd down and pound his face in. Elbows, and Fist... To big of a size difference. In boxing, Floyd wins, unless he gets caught with one of Chuck's old, slow punches.
Even if they train in everything it's not rocket science to learn decent 3-4 punch combinations....the problem is if they land all 3-4 right on the button with full force all in succession...you will probably end up with a broken hand or 2. Hence...the simple 1s and 2s.
Plus even with your logic Floyd would have to knock Liddell OUT with those simple 1s and 2s....and i mean clean OUT....in MMA the fight doesnt end with the guy being knocked down.... Floyd wouldnt be able to afford jumping on Liddell if he gets a knockdown...but to let him collect his bearings before gettin back up would work to his detriment as well.
No its not complicated..boxing is actually fairly elementary.. 4 kinds of punches...done in thousands of different ways.. But the edge boxers have is sheer repetition of those techniques. Whereas MMA guys mix it up, so their technique trying to emulate areas boxers exclusively train in, WILL be inferior. And Rashad knocked out Liddel clean...didn't have to follow him to the ground, ref waved it off.
Back to "1-2's... 1's are jabs... 2's are crosses... Floyd.. Floyd would be using 3's. Hooks. All day.
This fight would be all about who could bring their advantage to bear the quickest. The thing about it is...Floyd is quicker so I give him a good chance. Enough to vote for him. lol
You don't knocked out Hatton (took him 10 rounds) and think you'll ko Liddell. 144 pound Marquez took some flush punches from Floyd, was only down once, and was able to finish the fight.
Rashad not as good of a puncher as Floyd? I am pretty sure you meant boxer. As far as punching, Evans knockouts guys about 60 pounds heavier than guys Floyd can't knockout.
Well what I was saying, is, you don't need much power to knock someone out wearing those MMA gloves, man. angle, leverage, accuracy and trajectory are just as, if not more important.
And... everyone has a knockout threshold. I never understood this reasoning that just because a guy is bigger, he is harder to knockout? You can't add muscle to the head. And even if you can, its minimal. So the most these big mammoths have over littler guys, is bull necks, which prevents moving of the head. But if they don't see the shot coming... and their necks aren't tensed..the head will move, just the same, and the desired effect of crashing their brain against their skull would be reached, just like with a smaller fighter..
Yes I have used both kinds of gloves. I never said MMA gloves increase power output... I said devastation, as in, trauma to the area hit. It also changes the type of damage it does. But you have a point about it being harder on the puncher's hands. That's a given.
And about MMA guys and the 1-2's. Well their problem is they train everything. Ground, standup, takedown defense, submissions... They try to be proficient in all areas, and thus, are masters of none. Naturally, a boxer will be able to throw better punches than MMA guys, as a result.

Its been scientifically proven the tiny mma gloves does increase punching power. It's virtually the same as a boxing glove. The difference in padding however affects punch output. Alot of boxing fans like to trash mma because mma fighters "dont know how to throw combinations" or "they only throw 1-2 punches at a time".
There's alot of mma fighters that know how to throw combinations perfectly well....but with every punch that lands....because there is almost no padding they have to let the impact be absorbed by their bodies momentarily before throwing another punch otherwise they are in danger of breaking their hands/and or wrists. And Floyd Mayweather jr has notoriously fragile hands.

Floyd needs 2 inch thick taping and 10 oz gloves to keep his girlish hands from getting pulverized. How much power do you really think he's going to be able to put into MMA gloves?
lol well that is a good point.. I did mention, provided his hands weren't broken or something.
But, overall, the nature of how this would go down is a flash knockout, or, as others have said, a quick submission. Floyd gets damage to his hands more from the sustained pounding on them, over time. If he delivers a flash knockout.. his hands might hurt, but that would be after he knocked out Liddel.
Two words... Rashad Evans..Who is not nearly the puncher Floyd is. Look what he did to chuck.
No more need be said, really.

lol. thanks.
Unfair comparison.. because..
Liddel doesn't have nearly the defense or chin of any boxer I can think of that has fought floyd in a while.
Plus, Floyd would be wearing those tiny mma gloves... no padding practically. Which would make his punches more devastating.

Chuck wouldnt even know what hit him
LOL, it would take no more than a novice takedown maneuver and submission hold to beat Floyd in a matter of seconds, a minute max!! Boxing rules it's all Mayweather but with MMA, Floyd is toast.
Fixed it for ya.:fing02::fing02::fing02:
lol. thanks.
So how may CWs has Floyd, who has 5 stoppages in his 13 fights above 130, knocked out exactly?

n a boxing match, Floyd outboxes him, but of course Liddel is going to take him to the ground, where I don't think the shoulder roll is too effective.
FIFTY FIVE POUNDS DIFFERENCE.
right, I agree that the fight would be very short, either way. Floyd would have to catch Liddel when Chuck is coming in with either a punch, or a takedown. Which I think Floyd could do, all things considering.
