I believe it would have been a very similar outcome to what happened against pac man. Not taking anything away from manny, it was a great well deserved win...
But DLH looked extremely weight drained, he didnt look good at all, no pop on any of his punches, footwork was almost non-existant.. Not only hatton, but it looked like half the weltwerweight division would have dismantled oscar. If he is ever going to fight again, then it needs to be at 154 no doubt about it.
Hatton has a better chance at beating pac at 140 then oscar did at 147 hands down.
You must be a fighter man... Alot of people do not see what Pacquiao did to make DLH not throw his punches... I urge yall to watch it again... Pacquiao improved or done his homework real well cuz he gave DLH akward looks where he woulda taken big risks by throwing punches at akward angles... Pac kept a good distance and was just to quick shooting in.... He surprised me big time... DLH/Hatton would be much more competative... Pac footwork is WAAAAAAAYYYY underrated...
exactly, pac deserves credit for his defense. he kept his distance well and exploded when he wants to. like i said earlier, hatton can never put a defensive effort like that. he has cement on his foot i think
No, Hatton style is perfect for Hoya. Hatton would eventually get Ko'd. He comes in and is not nearly as elusive or as quick as Pac. If Hatton can actually move and box and brawl the way Manny did last night, he would win, but thats not Hattons style. Hoya imo would still beat Hatton when Hatton would get in close and try and outmuscle Hoya, which would be trouble for him.
Hoya Ko 11
I'll say this...I wasn't sure how true the rumors were that Victor Ortiz and Edwin Valero were kicking Oscar's ass. Now, I believe them to be 100% true. Speed, youth and lefty. Wiped the floor with Oscar. Pacquiao? Maybe he's a little smaller, but he's a beast in there.
He would have hit Hatton more because of the orthadox stance. I dont think Oscar had a target for his left hand at all. Hatton is still open for left hooks.
No. Oscar didn't punch because it goes against any fighters instinct to throw when they can't hit what they are throwing at. It just creates more risk. Time has again and again proven this to be true when fighters inexplicably lock up and appear not to be trying. Oscar couldn't hit Manny. He was tryng, he just didn't have the ability. Whether it is because he's shot or Manny is amazing is irrelevant, but Ricky's style isn't. My mom could hit Ricky Hatton. Oscar/Hatton is still a competitive fight, I think, or at least Oscar takes a few rounds before he is outclassed clearly and makes it the distance.

I was thinking about that. DLH looked shot and weight drained. So, I was wondering if Hatton had taken the fight against DLH instead of his fight with Malignaggi what would have happened. And I really don't think Hatton would have done to DLH what Pacquiao did. Pacquiao was making DLH move and Hatton would have been wrestling with DLH.
The movement is what tired DLH against Floyd and that was at a more comfortable weight. Against Pacquiao DLH didn't even look like he came to the ring with much, but if he'd have been able to fight in spurts he'd have been ok. Pacquiao didn't let him fight in spurts. He made him work and that was the difference to me. I might be wrong, but I don't think Hatton would have done that to DLH.
Hatton would have probably won by outworking Oscar. I think that Oscar made a big mistake with the weight thing. Manny is very good, better than some thought and Oscar by coming in so light was unatural and took away the size advantage. One of the few advantages he could have had.
hatton is a straight forward fighter. he would have been hittable all night by dlh. if u notice, pac kept his distance well and exploded whenever he want to. hatton can NEVER do what pacquiao did. even with the granpa version of dlh

it was a combination of pac's speed, head movement and great footwork plus dlh's going down in weight. manny has carried his power and speed at 147 and took dlh's shot rather with ease. he has the most underrated chin in the sports today and was able to absorbed some of dlh's power shots.
pac defense and skills are also underrated mainly because he gets a few times and looks awkward at times with his leap-frogging ability, coming in and out. last night he proved that he is light years ahead of what he was when he barged into the scene in 2001 with just brute power and a no non-sense come forward offensive wrecking machine.
oscar was in the high 140's midway into his training and his team was confident about his weight reduction and conditioning. i was surprised that he only gained 2 lbs a day after the weigh in going into the fight. i think they wanted to gain speed and possibly match manny's but it proved futile last night.
on another note, dlh would have prepared differently for hatton for this fight and it would have been at 140 rather than 147. also, hatton is no pac. he is slower and hittable. he might have a chance but i doubt he he would have done what pac did last night.
pac is on a different league and is a rare fighter. we should be glad that he came in our generation. he and his likes are exactly what boxing needs today.

give pac some muhfukkin credit... pac is simply too fast too good for dlh...
against an orthodox style dlh might've done better... calderon said it himself, dlh has trouble with speed and southpaws... hatton isn't a speedy southpaw
the truth is dlh didn't take pac seriously, that's why his dumb ass was 147 on fight night... for sure if he was fighting hatton dlh would weight around 165 lbs. That means hatton would be in big big trouble
Ricky would've stopped Oscar last night. Oscar just seemd that he had aged in one fight. I know he didn't look too good against Forbes, but he looked completely shot last night. Ricky may have done him more damage, particularly with his left to the body.
Unless DLH had some kind of virus last night, he should retire now. Ricky, Margarito, Cotto and Williams would destroy him.
I reckon Pacman is going to break the record of being champion at the most weight divisons by the time he retires! Legend!!

Thats a stupid analagy and proven wrong time after time. You ever hear of the "hay maker"? I've seen countless fighter throw shots while trying to hit there opponet.

I think I woulda been able to stop Oscar Last night.
Delaoldya is more shot then Roy Jones Jr., Roy at least showed flashes of his prime self, Delaoldya showed shit.
Hatton would have murdered Delahoya on this night.

You mean to tell me that if Oscar threw his jab on his toes he wouldn't find Pacquaio? He would. Fighters don't throw when they can't hit, they don't throw when you hit them with something to make them stop from doing what they want. He not only lost himself physically, but also technically. I don't know if it was the trainer or whatever. But to call him "a shell of himself", like Jones is, would be a disgrace to the term. It looked like he hadn't practiced his punches since May.
