There is a physical similiarity between Paul Williams and Tommy Hearns. Max Kellerman mentioned it with a comparison last night. Is Paul Williams in the class of the prime Tommy Hit Man Hearns?
IMO, Paul has shown alot of potential. He's has a physical advantage over almost all his opponents thus far. He may end up dominating a division. I give him all that. But, I don't see the re-emergence of Hearns, yet. IMO, Hearns was faster and had more power than Williams.
dude...i like paul hes a good fighter and he can achieve big things but apart from their builds there is no comparsion skill or power wise between him and tommy hearns...hearns was a brilliant boxer with bone crunching power who fought in a great era
williams is a good boxer with good power and decent skills
Max Kellerman suggested the comparison last night. I just responded to it because...it's ridiculous.....at least from what I've seen up to this point.
Hearns
First loss: Ray Leonard
Biggest win: Roberto Duran
Williams
First loss: Carlos Quintana
Biggest win: Antonio Margarito
Yeah, I think I'll take Hitman Hearns.
There is a similarity between Max Kellerman and Flawless: they both want to perform fellatio on Paul Williams.
The three votes for Williams are Flawless and his two alts! :lol1: No one else would be so stupid.

Comparing the two, lmao.
The American media are desperate for a star of their own right now, and are going to hype up Williams like they did with Pavlik. I agree Williams gets hit too much and like I said, he hasn't done anything that gets him even close to being on a par with Hearns. I just think he has the potential to go a long way.
Oh he's definitely got potential and seems to have improved even since the first Quintana fight. But sometimes when you overhype fighters, they start to believe it to their detriment. Like Pavlik, or Cotto.

Think that pretty much sums it up.
Although Williams is a damn sight better than Pavlik and he might actually do some great things.

If you even have to ask...
According to the friggin idiot, Max Kellerman, evidently he is!! Rofl......(no disrespect to Williams.....but Hearns? NO WAY)
Kellerman posts here under the name of "Flawless 2/Sonic Flood".
The Pwill nuthuggin round here is crazy. I'm a fan of his, but goddamn. Now he's on par wit a legend like Hearns?

For me, Williams has a way to go before he can be considered as good as Hearns. The Hitman is an ATG, Williams hasn't done anything that approaches greatness. Yet. Time will tell, but he is certainly a talented guy and I wouldn't rule out the idea of him one day being regarded as highly as Hearns.
But Kellerman has Williams ruling 3 or 4 divisions already. Anyway, Hearns was a better boxer, had a better jab, a lot more power, etc. You could say Williams has a better chin, but he gets hit way more than Hearns did, and hasn't faced anywhere near the competition.
Hearns would knock Williams' head off. PWill, for how good he is, gets hit a lot. There is nothing about Paul Williams, except maybe his chin, that his better than Hearns.
I like PWill. A lot. But lets not get carried away, now. Hearns was knocking out Crusierweights. PWill has LONG way to go be mentioned in the same breath as the Motor City Cobra....
