DAVID TUA vs PETER OR CHAGAEV

Tua vs Peter would be an entertaining fight. Two bangers with not particularly good handspeed & a lot of power. Tua vs Chagaev would be a pretty one sided & probably a little boring. Tua has an excellent chin, so would go the distance, but Chagaev would be able to outbox him pretty easily over 12 without taking many risks, & imagine he would do so. Chagaev also appears to have a good chin, so even if Tua manages to land the occaissional big shot, it won't turn the bout in his favour.

I agree if Tua can get/stay in shape he is a threat to any heavyweight (with maybe the exception of Wlad). He has enormous power in that hook and if he hits you cleanly with it, its lights out most of the time. I like his chances against Peter whose chin has come into question. I think Chagaev outboxes him to a UD. Iggy/Tua might be a good exciting fight assuming Wlad takes care of Iggy.

None of the smaller heavyweights want a piece of the Tuaman thats for damn sure. Tua needs to fight 2 or 3 more guys before he gets to the top. If he can get down to 230 or lower than the division better look out! Wlad beats him easily though because of the size difference...

I think Tua needs to fight someone with a pulse. It's clear he can still punch so that gives him a chance against most.

true dat. I kinda felt I was making a bad argument even while typing. It's all good, I like Tua, and I'd like to see him get another shot at a belt. And I think he'd have a very good shot against either Peter or Maskaev. But damn, he needs to step up the opposition quickly if he wants to do so.

Chagaev barely beat old Ruiz, Tua KO'd prime Ruiz. Not to say Tua is quite as good anymore, but he has looked impressive against the last two journey men he beat. Peter barely beat McCline or old fat James Toney the first time. I think if Tua hets it together, he could beat both. and on the ring magazine hw rankings, maskaev is ranked 3rd after peter and wlad. Tua KO'd Maskaev. I think he belongs and should get atleast 1 more shot at a top heavyweight before he is done.

why doesn't he deserve a shot for what he has done 10 years ago? I mean, tyson didn't exactly re-earn his shot at fighting lewis. Or neither did holyfield re-earn his shot at fighting Ibragimov. Of course his past counts, especially that he is still 35 not 45 and is still fighting at a really good level. oh and, he ko'd micheal more 5 years ago, not 10, not 12. I believe he deserves a title shot. If anything he would bring a lil excitment back into the heavyweight division. I think he can beat most of the top Heavy's too. He knocked out his past couple opponents just like he used to and he's back down to the 230's lb range, wierd though he fought like twice in Nov but hasn't fought since, hope he's gonna get back in the ring soon, cause he needs 1 or 2 legimete contender wins before a title shot.

Tua's time has passed. Too many layoffs and weight gains. He doesn't deserve a title shot until he beats a solid contender.
