According to Kamini Padayachee of The Mercury, a United States judge has issued an order that requires Zindzi Mandela, the daughter of Nelson Mandela, to pay Los Angeles boxing adviser Duane Moody R62.1 million ($7.5 million) in damages for breaching a contract in which Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao were going to fight in South Africa as part of her father’s 93rd birthday celebrations.
World Boxing Council (WBC) cruiserweight champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk believes he is capable of sending Danny Green into retirement when they clash at Perth's Challenge Stadium on November 30. In July, 38-year-old Green was stopped for the first time in his career when Antonio Tarver battered him within nine rounds. He doesn't consider Green a big threat at the cruiserweight limit and predicts that another bruising conclusion will force Green to hang up the gloves for good.

Heavyweight contenders Eddie Chambers (36-2, 18 KOs) and Tony Thompson (36-1, 24 KO’s) are good friends, but the two boxers were scheduled to fight each other on October 28th in an IBF eliminator, which Showtime planned to carry as part of a televised tripleheader. At the post-fight press conference, Chad Dawson continued to rip Bernard Hopkins over Saturday's controversial main event at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Dawson (31-1, 18KOs) stopped Hopkins (52-6-2, 32KOs) in the second round to capture the WBC light heavyweight title. Hopkins, who rushed in to throw a punch, leaned over Dawson - who used his shoulder to push Hopkins off. The veteran fell and suffered a left shoulder injury. He was unable to continue and the referee ruled a TKO victory for Dawson.
WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KOs) is not expecting WBA king Andre Ward (24-0, 13KOs) to last the twelve round distance on December 17th at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Froch wants to end the fight before the scores reach the judges. Ward, with a near 50% knockout ratio, is not the puncher in the contest, but he is the better boxer and the better mover. Froch anticipates Ward's defensive manuevers to avoid a physical fight. The Nottingham boxer is going to cut the distance to prevent Ward from staying outside of the danger zone.
Manny Pacquiao's training team is not sold on a possible fight with WBO junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley in 2012. Pacquiao defends his WBO welterweight title against Juan Manuel Marquez on November 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Bradley makes his Top Rank debut on undercard, defending his belt against veteran Joel Casamayor. Top Rank officially signed Bradley two weeks ago, and now he appears to be a frontrunner to face Pacquiao in 2012 - unless the Filipino champion reaches a deal with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
WBC lightweight heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins is not going to make a prediction of an "exciting fight" for next Saturday's defense against Chad Dawson at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. If Dawson comes to actually fight, then Hopkins plans to make it exciting.
WBA/IBF junior welterweight champion Amir Khan is frustrated with his inability to secure opponents at 140-pounds. Khan is prepared to defend his titles, for what may be the last time at 140, against mandatory challenger Lamont Peterson on December 10th in the challenger's hometown of Washington. Because of his opponent struggles, Khan is making a sooner than expected move to the welterweight division.
