I grew up back in the day, when she’ll would give hot wheels with a full take of gas. My dad always went to shell.

I got a think for 60’s and 70’s muscle cars.

I was in the import scene for years. Those were some good ass years.

I built cars for teams and also built my own.
I also built my Jeep for sema. They said buy the jeep and we'll send you the parts. Thanks to RBP for the pallets and all the others that chipped in. I have to say the jeep was the most fun you can have.

Owned it for a couple years after then got a offer that made me 25k profit so it had to go.

          The jeep

              McLaren 765LT.

You know you can throw a tune on a '20 Explorer ST, and it will run 11's?

I grew up in a a age where 13 second 1/4 mile times in a sports car were decent, and now Rob from Logistics and Bullshit can buy his Karen a Soccer Mom Suv that can embarrass pony cars.

              Strange times...

One key factor are these new automatic transmissions.

I have no idea how they do it, but the new Camaros and Mustangs (and I assume Challengers) with 10 speed autos and long gears can outlaunch the same models with 6 speed manuals and short gears.

Even just 0-60 the autos are like .3-.4 sec faster, stock. That's just nuts.

Well they put those same type of transmissions in passenger cars too.

My next muscle car build will probably be an auto, the first muscle/pony car I'll ever have bought new with an auto in it.

In looking into the new C8 it's all auto. No matter who drove the auto was faster around the track.

The new autos can't be beat but manuals are so fun.

                    That's how it is.

We drove both Mustangs and Camaros, and only drove an auto because one dealer we visited only had one V8 and it was an auto and they talked her into trying it. The wife fell in love with it fast, and I found it fun as hell too.

And that wasn't even in 'sport mode'. Both models got even faster and fun in 'sport/track' modes.

The sales guy told me the performance numbers, and he wasn't lying.

On both those cars the paddle shifters are on the steering wheel, so you can change gears without taking your hands off the wheel. That's great for tight turns.

And going into buying that car neither of us ever thought we'd buy a muscle car with an auto in it.

I'm for whatever works best. I'll miss manuals with a big V8 but is what it is.
                      Enjoy it.
