hi guys, i wana get a good mouthguard, as iv already got a tmj problem on my right side, which 1 would you recommend, that also allows for good breathing ?

im guessing rudy tellez custom double with large air holes like urs boxingcp ?

but i cant afford the cost at the moment, esp seeing as im in the u.k. and would have to get the moulds done and send em over...
so in the mean time i think im guna try a shock doc double ?
i was guna go for brainpad, but after reading the reviews, im put off!

The brain pad and the other boil and bite doubles will make your TMJ worse. Everyone has a different bite. Some have overbites and so on... when you order a custom double, you have to send a wax bite so that the mouthguard can be made to your exact bite when you close your mouth on the mouthguard. With the boil and bites, they set your bite one way, which could actually get you really hurt when hit by leaving too wide a gap in your TMJ area. Go with a cheaper custom single at Gladiator, (if you can't afford Protech or Rudy Tellez) you'll be better off. Protechs singles are a little more but I hear they are very good too. I can't wait to get my Protech double.

also another point that hasnt been brought up: especially for those of us who had braces in the past, it is possible for our teeth to shift as we age. Boil and bite guards have the option of reboiling if it holds its form enough the first time its boiled, while customguards do not.
