For what it's worth...I'm going to try to explain something to you. I doubt you will get it...maybe you will...if not hopefully this may help others.

I honestly wish I could say I made up that post about kidney degeneration because unfortunately I learned what I know from a friend who had a kidney transplant 3 years ago. It was rejected last year and has had been waiting for another. In his case it prematurely degenerated over 20 years due to insulin use...he is 38. I never knew this but it's typical of diabetics after about 20 years.

What I posted about estimated GFR values...120 being young and healthy...90 being normal for a guy your age who is healthy (60 being the start of kidney disease)...is typical. Now even at 60 you wouldn't notice anything different...but it is on the threshold of bad things to come.

Everything you do that contributes to that happening (of which there are many) are things that have a way of biting back at you say in about 15-20 years for a guy your age (if you say you have been lifting weights for over 3 decades I'm guessing you in your mid to late 40s).

I know you think the Mayo Clinic is run by a bunch of uneducated guys...(maybe truck drivers)...but to the Medical community they are regarded as the Gospel...so that's good enough for me. They say...as I previously posted..that amongst other things

      http://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supp...y/hrb-20059125

Creatine may cause abnormal heart rate, additive effects of chemotherapy or CNS depressants, aggression, altered serum creatinine levels, anorexia, anxiety, asthmatic symptoms, burping, change in appetite, changes in markers of liver function, combative behavior, confusion, constipation, decrease in cellular stores of creatine, dehydration, depression, diarrhea, drowsiness, electrolyte imbalances, elevated liver enzymes, fainting, fever, headaches, heat intolerance, high blood pressure, hypercarbia (excess carbon dioxide in blood), hyperthermia, increased cortisol, increased formaldehyde production, increased creatine in the urine, increased insulin levels, increased risk of kidney toxicity, increased risk of side effects from caffeine, increased symptoms of deep vein thrombosis, inflamed kidneys, inflammation of stomach and small intestine, irritability, ischemic stroke, jaundice, kidney ***********, light-headedness, liver injury, lower blood sugar, mania or hypermania, metabolic acidosis, muscle cramping or pain, myopathy (muscle disease), nausea, nervousness, pressure of the shins, psychosis, reduced blood volume, reduced phosphocreatine synthesis, rhabdomyolysis (muscle breakdown), seizures, skin rashes, stomach discomfort, swollen limbs, thirst, vomiting, water retention, weight gain, worsening sleep problems, yellowing of the skin.

      and they don't lie...trust me.

Now you said you are taking it for 20 years and logic dictates that it probably has contributed to the degeneration of your kidneys...everything does over time. You in all likely hood would not have any symptoms to suggest this...because even at the threshold of 60 GFR you wouldn't. But when you are 55-60 years old...you may very well have the GFR of a guy who is 75-80.

So how I see it...everything that does harm in any way even if it's way down the road in life...is something I keep away from. It's as simple as that.

Now some guys try it for a year or two when they are young and give it up. That in all likelihood won't do any damage...although I just don't see the point.

So you may not agree...that is your prerogative and I have no problem with that. Others can decide for themselves.

i dont have to agree because ive been on creatine 2 decades,im an athlete..the mayo clinic is as corrupt as the FDA and gives false info out on purpose for other agendas. My best friend works for Sanafi Labs a top lab and does research for cures and etc....you aint going to teach me anything here and its ridiculous for you to tell me creatine is bad when studies show its perfectly safe so as you post i will counter on here beleive me.

You do realize Ph levels tell everything in the body right? Do you know what PH levels are? of course not why would you? so you know my kidneys are bad now??lmao...please go away.

you got all your info froma ******ed article /Mayo clinic or not ...so i'll leave it there at the garbage can ,which if i recall read that like 10 years ago or so.

Just one thing I forgot to mention...creatine is relatively new. It became popular about 20 years ago so really...there are no studies in regard to the long term use of it. Kidney disease is a very slow progressing 20 years or more. I'm not posting this after thought for your benefit...because you are a highly intelligent individual who knows everything and has nothing to learn.

And PH levels simply tell your alkaline vs acidity levels...apples and oranges. Your small man syndrome is showing now.

You are wrong..creatine has been around since 1990,its relativley new to most and findings of the benefits continue so just stop the nonsense!

PH levels will tell if theres ANY problems with your health and can easily detect a bad blood balance which indicates a problem such as the KIDNEYS or liver which is needed for clean blood and clean blood is less dangers of viruses or cancers that thrive. so again just let it go,you dont know what you are talking about and are not even a good troll at this point but at least everyone will know what a joke you are,so thats all i wanted to warn ppl of you and well ...mission accomplished.

You need a blood test...I've had them. I don't think I've come across a bigger idiot on this site. PH levels of the urine are directly effected by your diet and can vary in the same day. ie: High protein diet will be very acidic. It will not reveal the state of your kidney. It can also indicate bladder infection.

I really didn't want to comment on this...but it's obvious you have little education...no one is fooled.

BTW...we all know what you are doing because this is what you always do. You hate to lose even when it clear that you have already lost and you just keep reaching like a guy drowning trying desperately to grab onto anything.

The blood test also includes the PH test if you ask for it you idiot...ph levels will tell you your overall health NOTHING else all the functions and cell counts of the organs are in the blood test itself..You dont take Ph tests after you eat,you do it on an empty stomach ******..lmao..high protein diets arent acidic if yopu are healthy either, your a fool.

I didnt say Ph levels werent effected by your diet, thats the purpose of a ph test but if somethings wrong its not your diet only it could be a liver/ kidney etc problem the blood test itself could reveal that with the cell count but the PH level is the most important bc most likley nothing is wrong...oh gee all my cell counts/ph balance etc were to good but i guess i will die of kidney disease according to you?? ...idiot.

No smart guy...PH test is done with PH strips. A touch of urine or saliva. I've had a few kidney tests DR Jugghead...and they do NOT bother with PH levels. It part of a blood panel test. Unless you've had one you have no idea the state of your kidneys.

And yes protein is acidic you dumbfuck...they are amino acids....ACIDS. Dumb as FUCK you are.

                  Just go away Jr.

blood pH isn't a test doctors routinely order. ... It measures many things, including urine pH, glucose, protein, and blood.
