I think I'm going to give this a try. Currently I am one week in on an Upper/Lower split routin. Previously I was doing Stronglifts 5x5 for 2 weeks.

    Upper: 3x10,8,6
    Bench Press
    Incline Dumbbell Bench
    Delt raises
    Dumbbell Triceps Extension
    Triceps Kickbacks
    Bent over rows
    Bent over dumbbell pull
    Preacher Curls
    Alternate curls
    Shrugs

    Lower:
    Front Squat 3x10,8,6
    Leg Extension 3x15,12,10
    Leg Curl 3x15,12,10
    Deadlift 3x5 @ 85% of 1rm
Calf Raises (however much I feel like doing)

Starting date was August 15. End date September 26.

    Excellent thread.

I haven't worked out in about 3 or 4 months. This thread has inspired me and I will do a light workout today.

I do need to change my diet and lifestyle. I drink and do drugs everyday and have for several years.

Making some gains just need to try to keep eating enough and beat my last workout from the prior week by at the very least a rep or 2 for each exercise.

Yeah man nothing wrong with that. I think my body responds well to switching like that. I start of between 5lb and 10 lbs less and at the six week mark I'm where I had maxed , then I got six weeks to set a new max . That's the plan !
Nothing wrong with that, I used to train improperly for years as a teen and in my early 20s, no way now I can get away with training all year round without my rest week every 11 weeks or so now.

2 weeks is too much though.

I for most of my lifts have been this week doing about 5lbs less than what I ended with before but yeah reps of 10s and 12s.
