Ok, I concede a bit on my original barrage, after second looks I see that he wasn't as bad as I had originally stated.

But truthfully, that quantity punching over quality punching is garbage.........

I would defiantly agree with rockin, that jab is so weak man, you really need to step into it a bit more, you also look really really predictable in your movements,a left hook, jabs and right hand will be landing on you pretty much at ease, especially whit a boxer who can move around the ring and pot shot at you. an example,if i was boxing you,all i would have to do is dip my head a bit to the right while i step in with a jab,and catch you whit a right hand on the way out, if you were coming forward throwing a jab like that you would walk straight into a straight right into the solar plex,or a left hook to the body as i was moving out of the way, realy need to tighten up and put a bit of force and snap in those punches

20 bouts? I call it like I see it. So unless you were holding back in your first video show me something that's above the playground scraps.

Let me guess, I have "disheartened" you?
and i didn't get annoyed at all til you reverted to insults. no internet criticism will dishearten me I'm curious for opinions.

All taken on board about actually shadowboxing how i would fight. i realise i was really just flicking out some shots and not mixing in everything i would do in a fight, such as parrying, blocking, angles etc

i regret reverting to insults too. dude i dont hold any of your criticism against you, i asked for it, the caveman thing and proclaiming me as a liar irritated me.

I have had 21 bouts. 13-8. boxed some good fighters. Ive been training again 3 weeks in a pretty sub par gym with no experienced guys to offer me pointers.

The quantity over quality is a good point, taken on board.

Yep stepping into the jab something in definitely need to do more of, thanks.

As I've said before, i made the mistake of just flicking some combos out there and didn't get enough substance into the video. wasn't thinking enough about defence, i have a tight high guard, i actually rarely get hit when i spar.

Whats your experience can i ask?

The #1 thing I love about what you got is your stance. It's ****ing solid bro. Your legs are in short, perfect. The positioning, you're light on your feet, I can tell you know how to go in and out, whether it's a conscious thing or not. You have the ability to go in and out with ease.

The thing I don't like, is your mind. I can tell you're too worried about the combinations you are throwing. It's just shadow boxing but in my own opinion or how I do it, personally, shadowbox like how you would fight.

Instead of trying to throw 3-4 punches, multiple jabs, needless combinations. Shadowbox like how you would fight. A person won't stand there and let you throw 3 short jabs and then a wound up right. Right? Throw a prodding jab, extend your arm to gauge distance, retreat with the full or half step back, act like someone threw a feint, so you gotta shift back or move your head and also think like, "*****, it looks like he is gonna throw. Let me stop-hit/ intercept." so you throw that little jab-parry and retreat from punching range. All that you know?

So get loose, move your head, not necessarily to dodge but so your opponent can't simply think, "his head is still, I'm gonna punch."

Even moving your head 1-2 inches side to side, prevents an opponent from setting up anything or throwing anything with confidence. (unless they have a high ring IQ. That ***** doesn't work against me, I'd just jab the body.. but that's a different story. lol)

You're guard is good. A little tense. You'll feel it dude. I promise you. When you start sparring again (if you haven't already) your shoulders are going to BURN. Because you seem tense. Whether it's conscious or not, you got your shoulders tight. Your hands are loose and you breath with your punch but your arms are tight, not relaxed or held in the guard naturally.

Just relax. Shadow boxing is like, whatever, to me. I don't shadow box conventionally, i focus on my footwork and jab mostly. You wouldn't see much combinations from me if you ever saw me shadow box. Very few non-purposeful punches from me when shadow boxing.

Overall dude. You're solid atm. To be just getting back into it, you got a good foundation. Everything I didn't like is just getting back into the flow. Once you relax and don't focus so much on what your hands are gonna do. You'll be straight.

As for weight class. What is your weight currently? Because you look like you could go to 140-154 if you wanted. You look like a WW to me.

I even watched the vid again after writing this. Dude, leg position on point. I still love it. If it makes me smile, you're likely doing it right.
Thanks a lot dude, all taken on board weighing in at 178 now but i defs reckon i can get my way back down to 141 with some hard work.

Defintiely need to relax a lot more, and your so right about shoulders being too tight. thanks a lot man. green sent.

are you in the US, if so which state?

you must understand that I have been on this forum for 10+ years. In that time I have watched too many videos of guys just lying out their asses. I will concur that it is possible that you had 20 bouts, but you gotta tighten up your fight in huge way.

Do another video at not such a frenzied pace. Place your shots properly and then work in some D, take a side to gain position and then let your hands go again. Ofcourse placing quality over quantity.

I will be more thoughtful in my opinions with no/little sarcasm. But you must agree that the rate at which you were working was just too frenzied and erratic, it just looked silly.

My apologies for making fun of the video. Post another but concentrate on quality over quantity, it will take you much further and serve you much better.

                Peace

Lose around 20lbs, try to maintain that for life as your walk around at it. Fight at 147 you've outgrown the classes you want to compete in.

In australia man. And yeah I've taken everything you've said on board. I absolutely need to be throwing more deliberately, moving my head, working there parrys etc. It was an overall thoughtless video trying to look a bit too fast and rapid.

                      Quality over quantity, absolutely.

And just a side note, that was a video of me cold, only back training 3 weeks. Absolutely need to loosen up, get twitchier with more upper body movement, and place my shots better. Thanks for the advice Rockin and flicker
