  • alrighty so I'm back in the gym and wanna fight again

back in the gym now, been 3 weeks. before that i was weight training somewhat consistently, and put on a fair bit of size. My cardio is what id describe as pretty poor atm.

My last fight was nov 2010. I was 16 almost 17. Weighed 61kg (132lbs). Now Im 21 and I'm walking around at about 178lbs. I'm between 5''8-9 not sure exactly.

Anyway in my time off boxing i abused my body. Badly. I was smoking cigarettes majority of the time, smoked weed HEAVILY and was a frequent user of ecstasy and methamphetamine.

Ive still got my skills there, my fitness feels OK for the moment but i know there ****loads of work to be done. I went for a 25 min run today (my first proper run since beginning training again) and i was huffing and puffing pretty bad and it was damn hard although it was fkn hot too. I have been off the cigarettes 3 weeks, and before that i was only smoking for a couple weeks after quitting for 2 months. So my lungs should be recovering or well on the way to doing so.

Anyway sorry for the rant lads but do the educated people here think i will be ready for a fight around October? Im gonna be in the gym 5 days per week and running regularly, fully ready to push myself and get back in there.

I know it all comes down to how i feel fitness-wise but I'm just looking for some outside opinions.

By the way i had 21 amateur fights, record of 13-8 I'm fairly sure. (i had exhibitions also and my memory isn't the best so yeah) i won a couple of state and regional titles and all my losses were close 1 point split decision kind of deals, except for two where i lost convincingly to dudes who went on to rep at olympics etc. I also often gave away weight in many of my fights. I did tons of hard competition sparring with good fighters so its almost like I've had 30 odd fights instead of 20. Jmo. Just trying to give you guys a picture of my ability. Im only modestly talented speed/power wise i would say but my fundamentals are solid and i have a tight joshua clottey style defence.

And also i put on a fair bit of useless muscle mass whilst out of training. some fat too. I dont have a big belly but i can only slightly see my abs. id guess my bf is around 15%. Anyway i reckon i still only have the frame and height to fight down at 141lbs. Do you guys reckon i will be able to get back down there?

          thank you for the compliment.

I saw that you were a bit of a troll so it greatly raised my su****ions.

Why would you go to the effort of making a BS thread? Why would anybody? Yet people do........

My opinion is to just get in the gym, keep in the gym, and then tell us what you are doing rather than what you are going to do. Talk is what everybody has the ballz to do...........

fair enough and yeah i know talk is cheap. but i just want an opinion of if its realistic to go from relatively unfit, back to fight fitness in 4 months.

and yeah I've been back in there for 3 weeks man, not long i know but I'm 100% committed. if i was fit id get in there and fight tomorrow. I'm keen as fcuk again.

anyways ill put up a vid soon and you can offer your opinion on my abilities. if you have worked with kronk fighters etc then I'm gonna take what u say with lots of consideration.

If you need to set a date (goal) to fight then do that. I doubt its neccesary
because guessing when you'll be in fight condition is just a guess.
If you got ready for competition in the past then just get the work in same as before. It should take you longer because your age will hold you back and the abuse you imposed on yourself holds you back also.
Try adding in antitoxins in the form of tea's and maintain hydration so your body doesn't stress out to much.
Get yourself in shape, to be able to get yourself in great shape! Understand?

Lets see a video on a heavy bag and shadowing.

I never 'worked' with Kronk fighters, as in training them. They worked with me.

Oh, sparring yeah I've worked with a few. I always had Kronk around me though, a few of their fighters were coming to my gym for a good while. Kady King, Darrin Morris and Marlon Thomas, they all helped me a bunch. A man named Earl Smith worked with me a bit at that time, great technical trainer. He taught me two tricks that I had never even thought of, real good stuff. Kady always had my back at the fights, talkin' me up to everybody telling them to watch dis whiboy. I had some very good trainers work with me through my time. One was a classic boxing trainer, one was slick and slighty and one was a pitbull type trainer. Meaning that he made me go right for them, stay on them and work for 3 minutes a round. Every round.

I don't know everything but what I did learn I learned well.
