If you got ready for competition in the past then just get the work in same as before. It should take you longer because your age will hold you back and the abuse you imposed on yourself holds you back also.
Try adding in antitoxins in the form of tea's and maintain hydration so your body doesn't stress out to much.
Get yourself in shape, to be able to get yourself in great shape! Understand?

Lets see a video on a heavy bag and shadowing.
why do you think my age will hold me back? i know the abuse will but 21 is still young in boxing terms i would think? i thought one thing i had on my side was i still wasn't TOO old even though i wasted some crucial years.

thanks for the advice too and yeah I'm just gonna need to be making the same times on my runs and circuits etc that i used too, to know I'm getting close to fight shape!

video coming soon, I'm no good with technology though how do i upload a video straight to here from my phone or does it need to go to youtube first?

He taught me two tricks that I had never even thought of, real good stuff. Kady always had my back at the fights, talkin' me up to everybody telling them to watch dis whiboy. I had some very good trainers work with me through my time. One was a classic boxing trainer, one was slick and slighty and one was a pitbull type trainer. Meaning that he made me go right for them, stay on them and work for 3 minutes a round. Every round.

I don't know everything but what I did learn I learned well.
thats mad experience bro. I've seen plenty of your posts and know why you have to offer in terms of knowledge. You, ray corso and cuahtehmoc are the guys on here who know their **** and who's opinions I'm gonna be listening too, and I'm gonna get some vids up ASAP so you guys can offer your 2c

i'm not a trainer, but i'd like to see you shadow box.

your coaches should have a better idea of how your fitness is looking. do they want you fighting in a few months?

im defs getting a vid up soon bro.

Well see the thing is, the coaches at my new gym (i moved towns) are a bit unorganised and to be honest not the most knowledgable. There is another coach that our gym works with who is a bit more on the ball so I'm gonna look for him to help me out a bit hopefully.

and yeah they are keen for me to be back boxing at this october show. theres no pressure, they just mentioned it and I'm keen as hell, id jump in the ring tomorrow if i was confident in my fitness...mentally I'm all there. I'm no elite fighter but I've been in with some stiff competition, often given away weight and I'm not scared to fight anyone, not that it means anything but I've had streetfights with big dudes..guys weighing 100-110kg and well over 6 foot tall.. plus I've shared the ring with some skilled fighters so the point of my rant is i am not easily intimidated and will throw down with anyone.

                Your weight doesn't matter, really.

You want to fight at a certain weight, that's all you should focus on. Don't worry about trying to walk around at fight weight. Get in top shape first, whatever weight you are at, decide if it's feasible to fight at that weight after.

As for starting again, go to a gym. Preferably a reputable gym, no necessarily a legendary coach gym but one that you know takes boxing seriously.

Tell them you want to go pro. Tell them you also have an amateur back ground. They'll set you up for training. Then get on the grind.

A lot of sacrifices will need to be made but if you're serious dude, you'll bite the bullet and make a career.

yeah cheers dude. Im back in the gym, 5 days a week, for last couple weeks. Need to get running at least 3x a week though.

This new place I'm at is a bit unorganised (sort of typical in the part of the country I'm in, theyre laid back about every damn thing) but this coach has pro contacts and the tools are there for me to get fit again and have a good dig at this ****. Need another dozen or so amateur fights before i think about the pros though, imo.

If it all goes to plan, which it will through my dedication, i was thinking of something like this.

Train hard 4-5 months, hopefully get a fight or two in before end of this year

Fight as consistently as university studies allow, for next 3-4 years. Probably rack up another 20 fights hopefully.

And then have a crack at the pros aged 25.

I do have a impending law degree starting, and a future career to think about too, so that is obviously a big priority. But i know with 100% hard work and dedication i can smash this degree out and also get back in the ring and give it my best shot.

I know with the weight thing, I'm just concerned that if i can only get back to 152, i might be a bit small for the division. Im gonna get a video up after the weekend and you guys can offer your opinions about what division i could fit into.

Just cause i know if i had stayed on the grind from 16, i would have not ended up moving higher than 64kg. I was making 60kg easily at 16 and could make 57 but with a fair bit of effort.
