if you drink lots of icecold water your body will use energy to heat it upp, so yes you may burn some more calories.

What I believe, water gets absorbed into the fat so the fat tissues become a lot softer and moist. When you're burning fat doing excercise the added water will make it break apart more easily and just melt off.Comment

Water doesn't help burn fat.
The idea is you drink enough water every day the body doesn't need to store any. Should make you look tight and ripped.Comment

The fact is that if you drink lots of cold water your body has to speed up its metablism in order to heat up the water in your body, which in turn burns a small amount of fat. Its scientifical proven to burn somewhere around 5% more fat, nothing major but a helping handComment

the process in which fat is burned in your body is called hydrolysis...you need water in order to burn up fat. if youre dehydrated, your body can't break up fat as efficiently.
the cold water thing is also true, and over time, can actually add up, considering how easy it is to chug a little ice water.
when i was on a diet, i didnt drink a lot of water for awhile because i thought it was inflating the number on the scale...did that for a few days, and suddenly stopped seeing results. obviously sitting on your ass and drinking water wont make you lose weight, but its an essential part of any diet.Comment
