and yes the weight feels like an anchor. and not in best shape cause me to do things like lean forward more instead of using my legs. not consistantly sparring causing me to slap instead of punch. as well as not using more of my hips and legs to punch. it come back with weeks of pad work and sparring and conditioning.
you should spend a lot of time on the pads in the next 4 -6 weeks, and i forgot to say but i think someone else did anyway, keep your hands up. you got good basic skills but like you said losing the weight will really help you, it's slowing your movements down way too much, i hope you post another sparring vid after you've lost 10-15 lbs ( hopefully in a month or so ).

there's nothing like coming home from a bad day at work and getting licked by my pug

I didn't watch all of the video but you seem to handle yourself okay in there with a much larger, although maybe somewhat muscle bound, opponent. I did notice that you keep your hands very low a lot of the time, and you duck down at times, losing sight of your opponent. That would be a no no of course. I think you need a lot more sparring and time in the ring to work on your defensive skills, like head movement and catching punches with your gloves. More time on the heavybag to work on your punching too. I know it's only sparring but I feel that you could be a little more explosive and all around looser.

I hope you stick with it, work hard, and constantly improve. You seem like a nice guy and possibly an animal lover too (nice pug) so I feel like I have to root for you.
hey Kid, good to see you back here ( i used to be beeatch!)...i'm a coach in the amateurs now, it's really fun

It's good to know you're still on this forum, you were always a voice of reason on boxingscene. I've always thought that it would be fun to coach young fighters so kudos to you for actually being able to do it. Amateur boxing can help young people build confidence and self respect and it keeps them out of trouble too. It's such a positive influence in many lives and again it's good to know you are a part of it.

I guess I'll see you around on here!
