Running Times?

Hi Them Apples, big respect for actually timing yourself and being honest with the results.
Doing one mile in about 6.5 minutes probably indicates that over a four mile distance you average seven minute miles.......28 minutes for the distance then.
Treadmill running is alot different than track though, its not an indicator of how fast someone would be on track. I think the main reason is because your pace is dictated by the machine, it forces you to keep to a pace. Even on treadmills that fully allow you to vary the pace there are odd friction issues, its never quite the same.Comment

thats also what they do in the military.
I don't believe for a second thats olympic times.
I just book it
5 minute miles is what they do on average in the military
just so i don't seem like a fool making up **** though i better time myself for accuracy.
On a treadmill it's about 8-9 mph average for me. somebody do the math for me.
EDIT: @ versatile, 3:32 seconds is the olympic mile record.
to run 1 mile in 5 minutes is about 10 mph. Which is basically running at a high pace (pretty hard)
I did the math, on a fast run it says i do a mile in 6.5 minutes (@9mph) I guess i just screwed it up because i do it on a treadmill.
My thing I was getting at though is the running a consistent 5min mile 4 times. Doing one mile at 5 min is even fast as hell for the average folks. But I'm glad you cleared all that up.Comment
