What sort of time should i be doing this in? im in pretty good shape and if i push myself i can do it in about 38 mins.

So im wondering how far peeps are running and what sort of times your doing your runs in....

It also depends on your weight. If you're a heavyweight I might be a good time. If you're a lightweight it's pretty slow.

          Hi Folks,

Here are some of my times for last August........I've been doing cross country since then:

          0.5 mile: 2:29
          1 mile: 5:35
          2 miles: 12:07
          3 miles: 18:37
          4.5 miles: 28:57
          10K (6.25 miles): 40:33
          9 miles: 61:18

These times are on a measured flat 800 metre (half mile) circuit around the local sports centre.

Peewee has posted a superb 3 mile time. Do you rest after each mile or is that constant running for the distance? You obviously have cracked the 3 mile time in under 18 minutes which is very competent if it is constant.

no i rest for 30 sec to a minute after each mile, it's not all at once. it's also not a comfortable pace, i'm huffing and puffing halfway through.

ok are you guys training to be boxers, or do you want to become runners????

anything more than 2 miles begins to tax your body beyond benefit if you want to box....

What is all this about miles? modern advanced cultures use kilometers. The Olympics use meters/kilometers so all this talk about times you can do in miles is pointless.

I can do 3 miles (5 km) in just about 23 mins. Did a quick mile today in just under 7 mins. Usually I run between 7 to 9 mph, however, for the last stretch of the mile today I bumped it up to 10 mph (was great). And yeah I run on a treadmill, however will go back to roadwork in the spring.

Also, to whoever said more then 2 miles is taxing and not beneficial to boxing, just look at any pro boxer. Ten to twelve miles every morning. And they do it for a living.
